Beebop, your not in bad shape tho, have two picks coming up. Grab a center and your in good shape. Gasol might even be C elgible since he played it alot last year.
YoungBuck, I hope your talking about the other draft. lol
I dont really see that anyone has taken the lead, cept for maybe Vilica. (pending his next two picks)

My Team: Dirk Ray Allen Sam Cassell Alonzo Mourning
This is not the team I would pick to watch or beat the other teams, but their stats are all pretty good and balanced. High scoring, and all Shooting percentages were above normal, but Zo is a bit of problematic free throw shooter. But he gives me an above average shotblocker...Rebounding and steals are my most mediocre categories...

|
My biggest drawback so far, really hoped to get some of the big fellows Mutombo, Mourning, Olowakandi. But nothing can be done
4.8 Marcus Camby
Really hope he can play more than 30 games, I don't even expect him to play 82, but would very happy for 70.. His rebounds might be a positive suprise, because of playing in up-tempo west.

Beebop, I too, think you will be fine, you may have jumped a bit early on Pau...
Youngbuck, you must still be hungover because your team is pretty average.
Villica is still sitting very pretty, I think I can compete very strongly with the other teams...The later picks are going to need to have some substance for everyone else to catch up with Villica

And so does our draft, good to se us rolling... My team so far Garnett J. O'Neal J. Terry Camby
Looks like a strong reb and blk team, but very weak in assists and especially 3 pointers.

Nice, I like Camby alot -- but I think expecting any more than 60 games is asking alot from him. I debated taking him, but realized it would require me to draft 3 centers instead of two. Maybe you can steal someone like Magloire in a late round as a backup.
Here's my dilema. Im debating on which is better - average at all catagories (relative to rest of the teams) or great at most and forget about 1 or 2 of them. Right now i think im pretty well rounded but Im not sure if I want to keep it that way.

uao, (pao, yao) the draft is rolling and the center-valzer is playing. So I feel more happy for my chinese. I think Mourning will have a great year, but hopefully Yao will be better, and thanks ginseng his rookie-wall will be very small. My team: Allen Iverson Jalen Rose Ben Wallace Yao Ming good even if not balanced team, but I think it's better be very strong in 5-6 categories than good in 9. And I have 2 of my 5 favourite players (The Answer and Big ben) and the other 3 I really like - it doesn't mean they're very good, - are still to be picked

Youngbuck:
Your players are all scorers. With the exception of Nash. No rebounds, stls, blks. Rahim is your biggest rebounder and he's got Theo and GRob now. And you have no center yet. But the upside is you should win PTS and 3PT.
Highest STL rank - (TMac @23) Highest BLK rank - (Rahim @45) Highest REB rank - (Rahim @17) [without Theo/GRob]

i was just perusing the rules (since we are already 4 rounds into the draft :>) and a couple of things i didn't know:
1) you can only get 82 games per position (i.e. we have 2 centre spots so you can only have 164 centre games total for the season) - don't know how utility players/bench players affect this
2) each category counts as a game for the week (so each team plays 9 games a week vs his opponent) - i originally thought you had to win 5 categories to get the win for the week - i didn't realize you could go 5-4 or 7-2 etc.

I've never played H2H too! Better very strong in 5 categories, than balanced in 9 is just my feeling too. Lazzzio wake up Hey guys did you note Youngbuck and Lazzzzio are the only one's whic hame is written all caps? Does it mean something??

I think my team is about as balanced as you can get...
Kobe Bryant Ranks #6 in the NBA in Points Per Game(25.2) Ranks #19 in the NBA in Assists Per Game(5.5)
Andre Miller Ranks #1 in the NBA in Assists Per Game(10.9) Ranks #19 in the NBA in Steals(126.0)
Dikembe Mutumbo Ranks #6 in the NBA in Rebounds Per Game(10.8) Ranks #5 in the NBA in Blocks Per Game(2.38)
Wally Szczerbiak Ranks #4 in the NBA in Three-Point Field-Goal Percentage(0.455)
Any thoughts?

Let me also clarify the games per season thing.
Here are the official "H2H" rules from Yahoo!:
Maximum Games per Position: No maximum
This is different than their "Rotisserie" league. Here's a link if you don't believe me. (Scroll down the the bottom.)

i don't really trust that picking a big man now is worth it. I think that the best are gone, and there's a group of 5 or 6 still out there who are quite similiar in production.....and their production is not worth a 4th round. I prefer to pick better players who could help in other categories in a bigger way than a mediocre big man who will help just in 2 categories. And there still are F with a rpg ratio better than any C....

Good bet they'll split time. Id say Keon/Pollard/Vlade. Will rotate between there and the 4. Maybe even a little Funderburk.

Purely speculation. But I think Keon might start against smaller teams. (or at least get a majority of minutes) Because of his ability to run the court like the Kings like to do.

these are stats for last year. I'm counting on finley to improve a bit almost everywhere since it has been a under average year for him, carter to improve at reb and playing healty, and marbury to improve his assists ratio since is team seems far better than last year. i hope i can pick my next 2 guys, because they would give me an extremely balanced team, with points, fg%, ft%, reb and steals at a high level.....let's cross my fingers.

I did some calculations to check my team at the moment. I summarized game averages from last year for each category for my four guys, and this is how it looks like.
Couple of notes: It's quite early for this, since we don't have drafted even 5 players, and more importantly these calculations don't take in to account any injuries (and I have Cotton-Camby).
pts 70,6 (pretty ok, could be better) reb 37,2 (excellent, I should dominate) ast 13,6 (bad, need to work on this) stl 4,8 (ok, still haven't drafted many little thieves) blk 5,8 (marvellous) to 8,9 (hard to say, doesm't look very bad) ft% 74,9% (looks ok, especially cause I have concentrated on big guys) fg% 45,8 (ok) 3pm 2,7 (need to work on this)

i don't think hill is worth a risk at least until you've to select your 6th man. he's too much a risk, and i wouldn't risk to open a hole in my roster if it's in a starter's spot.....would you?
|
75 | Memphis Fan
ID: 30632614 Thu, Aug 29, 2002, 15:49
|
Reason I know he's going to take Hills is because he thought his pick was about 8-9 picks ago and drafted Hill & Rose. Since Rose is now gone. I assumed he would continue with his pick in Hill. Im not sure about Hill he could be an all-star or a bust. (like last year) There isnt a whole lot of talent out there right now -- i might take a rusty Grant over the rest of the field. Then again, he prob. wants his second center spot -- because his next pick is pretty far away.

That was the main point of rubulamps post. You were saying previously that you get soo drunk on weekends and that is why you couldnt pick last time....

I apologize for not picking sooner, both in this draft, and in the other. I ran late this morning and neglected to toss my draft list in my bag, and I just now got back to my room. All 3 of my picks should be up within the next hour, I gotta run to Staples for masking tape, and I'll review my choices on the way.

clach, you better forget about nesta. and if our team remains the actual, you even better forget about winning the serie A this year. Our defensive 2nd team is far better than your 1st, and you can't contraddict me: pancaro, couto, negro, favalli contra, maldini, laursen, simic

I won't be able to make my next pick before saturday 7 am est, unless you are able to rush next 3 picks within next 5 hours. But I suppose this isn't a problem at all. I wouldn't be suprised if it were not my turn when I saturday morning log on...
