todays featured article on rotoworld makes me feel pretty good. the top four guys he talks about i got in a decent round.
i got marion, pierce and o'niel lower than they would have gone historically. there were reasons but i think they are decent value where they were and they can easily excell under the right conditions. granger should be handed the keys in indy so he has the opportunity to excell and even if he only does what he did last year than maybe he went a round early. foye is good for the 7th just stay health buddy. i don't think nelson or alston can lose thier jobs to anybody so i hope they step up and play well. bargnani had a great preseason and the fact is they really need him to play, after him it's pretty thin in the front court. jeff green i hope is the gem the blurbs talk him up to be. marbury simmons stevenson, blah whatever, if marbury does half of what he's capable of he should be ok and stevenson was just playable when arenas left last year.
draft steals i noticed mark because he was right in front of me - nash and al thornton were snagged on me but amir johnson sounds like he got missed by the rest of us. good picks solomans 8th hamilton 8th he'll get his mins thaddeous 9th gordon 8th contract year,,again marvin 9th zach 9th carmelo late in 3rd. shouldn't have let that happen
if tracy plays like a second rounder mark has a shot at coming in a distant second.

Wiggs had a solid first seven rounds. The only real question mark being Manu's return timetable. I think the "steal" may turn out to be Nene. I would have had T-Mac at 6.03 were it not for Mark L (may you die a thousand DNPs for that). Second place will of course depend on health, waiver wire picks ups, and trades... I give the best shot based on present lineups to "sniffles" (snlf411).

WonderB, Goldcoach -- I expect the DNPs.;) If I get 60 out of T-Mac I will be ecstatic.
Once I get a chance to clear my head I'll post my observations. This is a tough crowd, I know that much.

Hey All - remember that you need to have your lineups in place by Sunday in order to have players active for the week, even though games don't start until Tuesday this week. Don't get a bucketful of zeros to start the season!

??? different game i think. here you can plug and play as you wish. i think you have untill before game time to make changes to that days roster. i found most times they would be locked in 10 to 15 mins ahead of game time.

MarkL, It's daily lineups, not weekly.
I think the thing that surprised me most about the draft were all of my rookie picks. I mean, even in keeper leagues I shy away from youngsters for teh more proven talent where the stats can be more relied on when composing your teams. I took some chances this season, but in most cases, I felt that either the rooie was rated too low by the stats, the league or both or I needed that position or stats that guy brough so badly that I had to skip over some overall better choices for that guy.
Let's see... Mayo Love Durant (Soph) Oden M. Gasol Gordon W. Chandler (Soph)
I could be in for a long season. But I am typically a slow-starter. Deron being out with an inversion-sprain hurts--but it doeesn't sound like he will miss a lot of time. Not sure how effective he'll be for awhile though.

we will use the community injury thread as our resource for the IS eligibility.
remember this used to replace the injured list the NBA abandoned a couple years ago. when placed on it a player could not play for 10 days, please consider this when asking for eligibility for someone. day to day is not good enough. however a player missing 5 games may be eligible as per discussion on the injury thread.
some players are already eligible. please keep a record of your actions on the yahoo message board. something like: gilbert injured picked up blah blah -->gilbert played dumped blaf blah i found this makes it easier for me to keep track of everyones team.

also re. IS slot. you CAN NOT place a designated IS player into your starting lineup in the hope that he will play that day. you must drop someone to clear your IS player to play that day. something else to consider when requesting an IS eligibility for anyone.

Looks like my Mayo reach compared to avg was only about a half round. It was stated that there is no way he'd have made it back to me.
There were several picks where my pick was deemed a steal based on RIHC leagues avg. Durant was the largest at just over a round later than avg. The only player that I took first was Dampier and that was a pure flier and likely WW fodder, but he gets in those grooves where he can really help you--but I'mnot expecting it.
All and all, my draft appears to be just better than avg. Collectively, my players fell almost two rounds over avg. with 21 places later than avg. I'm more interested in teh picks I took earleir than avg to see if they were true value picks. Based on avg. not one pick would have gotten back to me with my next pick--so that's good to know. Obviously every league is different so you never know.

the IS designations thread is to post your proof and make an IS designation claim. it is a public forum that all other RIHC leagues will be using as well. please keep the clutter out of that forum. ask your questions here. the other leagues do not care who you are picking up in place of your injured player. once a player has been declared IS eligible by any owner you do not need to post again anywhere. BUT please keep a brief record of your IS ADDs/drops on the yahoo site's message board. this is a favor to me, when i see an ADD without a corresponding drop i get curious. if you post your actions there i do not have to put on my detective hat and figure out which of your players is hurt. while i try to keep up with the news the smaller names don't catch my attention in the headlines unless they are on my own team. once i know who is hurt it is a quick matter for me to check the IS thread for your player.

I don't think there is anything we can do about it.

I think I have all but 2. Why?
I have two injuries. I've had both traded players who missed games. I've had other guys to miss games. My team is not as bad as it looks in the stnadings. It will come up. Being beseiged by trade offers trying to pray on my good players, but I know my tema will shoot up. I may have to make some trades at some point, but still shaking things out right now.

WOW! Amare out for the year (eye); KG back in Boston (knee) and Manu down for 2-3 weeks. Who's next?
thanks for playing. i just snuck into 2nd on the second last day, what a close battle over the last month though. i don't think i drafted any big steals, i had some busts even in jermaine and marion my #1pick those trades i made getting kidd, bosh and lee made the difference for me. i managed to pick up 4-5 points in rebounds and steals especially without losing much in other cats. i was about to go down one in 3's to youngroman and if the season was a day longer i probably would have creating a tie. sometimes it comes down good timing and luck. and also if aggy hadn't dumped harington who got traded in the next couple days to NY or i didn't have the top waiver wire pick at the time things would have turned out a lot differnt. without harrington i might have been a little better than last in FG% but alot worse in 3's. that was a difference maker too. anyway cna't think of too much else good luck next year. congrats jason and i assume i will see you in the big leagues next year
congrats Jason. what a dominant way to win. you are top5 in every category and top3 in 6 out of 8.
I myself struggled for most of the season to find some guys that get more court time than the players I had on my team. some of them were good, some not. some got better just after I dumped them, only a few got better while on my team. all the players of GSW that were or are still on my team fall in both categories. Thanks Nellie! I better stay away of your players in the future.

Yeah it was a blowout season. I couldn't do anything. Took some chances in the draft and really happy with some of them but others didn't do well until I dropped them. :( COuldn't replace key injuries. Also couldn't find any trading partners who had excess of what I needed and vice versa. I'd be sitting pretty in a keeper league--but alas I had to settle for middle of the pack. 6th place stinks but it easily could have been worse.

Thank you for your gratulations! It was a fantastic game, with very good teams!
I think I was very lucky this year, because my key players were on the court almost all the season, they all played more than 70 games.
The draft was successful, I was satisfied with my first ten picking (especially Murphy in 8th round), but the other players were unusefull (eg. Arenas in 11th round). I think the key moments of the win (above avoiding injuries) were picking up Lopez, Gordon and Conley (and later West and Perkins).
After the first half of the season I was in terrible position in FG%, and this was the area where I saw the biggest possibility to a great leap forward. I managed to improve from 45,6% to 47,3%, and to get 7 extra points. (It was very interesting in the last day, when Goldnets's daily FG% was 46,1%, and with this he could improve from 47,2% to 47,3%. I am not a mathematic professor, but it was surprising for me..)
There were some very big battle at the end for positions, with 1derpunk in rebounds(after his trade (Bosh and Lee) I didn't have any chance), with san ge mao in steals and 3PTS, with Aggy's in PTS and 3PTS, with GoldNets in rebound and FG%, and with Color Me in PG% so it was a very exiting game.
