I know whom I want with my first pick but I don't know yet at which draft position I want him. at #4 I should be able to select the right draft position, at least I hope so.
what I know:
- training camps start on Friday.
- free agents are allowed to be signed Friday
- there will be only 2 pre-season games starting a week later
- the season starts on Dec 25
what I don't know:
- are all players that signed elsewhere allowed to get out of their contract? this does not seem to be the case for those in China.
- are 2 pre-season games enough for the coaches to determine their rotation and will that be enough for us to properly assess them. I expect a lot more activity on the wire early on. some of us will be lucky and some of us won't
tough decisions are ahead of us in the next 2.5 weeks.

If we start Sunday, I won't be around until late Sunday evening. That shouldn't be a huge problem as I'm towards the end of the round and I can try and leave a queue for my first round pick, but I'm not comfortable leaving a queue for the 2nd round.

i would never let anyone miss their first pick. i will open it when i get home on sunday from christmas visits. the clock will not start untill after the first round and i will start off at 6 hrs. i get too many complaints when it is set at 8 hrs and as long as we are ahead i think 4 hrs is unnessessary.
so take the weekend to gather all the info you can and good luck.

hmmm. Obviously we can't wait forever for him- I guess we could arbitrarily draft either Paul or James for him (coin flip?) or we could sign him up and just pass over his draft position (not really aceptible for a #1 choice) or we could swap his draft slot with some deserving manager later in the draft but if we do sign him up what do we do if he never returns? In the alternative I guess we could replace him if he doesn't show in another day or so? Or I guess we could just give him Carmelo which might be the best alternative of all.

Once you sign up at Drafttime we can start the draft. If you are ok with it, I think the commish can pick LBJ for you if you won't be around all day. Otherwise we can wait patiently for you. I say we give you a solid 2-3 minutes before we start complaining again.

I feel the same way. I've stayed away from a couple of guys that aren't signed yet. Missing the shortened training camp, and not knowing what team they are going to be on lowers their value somewhat IMO.

Was the waiver order set correctly? I thought after picking 11th in round 1, i would have waiver priority 2.
Now, i didn't want to grab anyone from waivers to start with, but that could have made a big difference if i wanted to go for Okur, for example.

ya that one got away on me. i completely forgot about the order. at the moment i am assuming only 2 of us who put in a waiver wire pick got their pick so i have reordered the waivers with the only 2 picks taken in to consideration. i'm last, dror 11th. everyone else is bumped up who was after them and back in the right order.

I am very happy with this trade.
Trading away Granger was difficult after holding him for so long through his poor start to the season, but getting LMA is key for me. It should have a hugely positive impact on my FG%. LMA is a high volume, high % FG shooter, and i managed to swap out 2 low % gunners in Butler and Granger. Dudley was pretty much surplus to my squad anyway as i am games ahead.
A good trade for me, especially when i get Hayward as well, who i think will have a nice 2nd half. The 3-2 (Roddy doesn't count as a 3rd player!) was important for me, as it gives me a chance to bring Henderson back to my squad when he recovers.
Now, to try and somehow hold on to that lead..

Yeah, it's quite a battle at the end here. Been missing quite a few players as well (Deron, Kidd, Aldridge, Pekovic), but not on the scale of your squad.
Tough to say who will win, even this close to the end of the season.
Hopefully, it's the top 2 who qualify for RIHC next season.

I am doing a little micro management right now. trying to pass you in assists which looks good so far: 3 assists behind with 5 games less played. I also looked to get in some steals which works pretty good with 12 steals ahead of you.
In addition I am also fighting for rebounds against 1derpunk with 70 rebounds down but 13 games less played. thats 5.4 rebounds per game which is exactly my average. too bad Lee and Love are out so I need those rebounds from guys like Glen Davis, Drew Gooden or even Carmelo.

It will be close, and micromanagement is a big element at this stage of the season, especially since the unforseen DNPs will start piling up anytime now.
I think we can both see where we can get points from to win this thing, so it will be interesting to see who prevails. I make you slight favourite as of right now.

The last few days it looked closer than it really was. after moving ahead in steals I did not need to catch Swish in assists or 1derpunk in rebounds. the worst result possible would have been a tie for 1st.
Thanks for a tough season. I doubted that i could win with all the injuries I had in the last 2 months but I also got lucky in picking up some very serviceable players during that time span like Goran Dragic or Glen Davis (when healthy). I hope I can continue this run next season in the big league.

dissapointing not to finish better when it looked so good half way through. in first with less games played. but not having bargnani and losing galinari for a big chunk of the season caught up with me. they were playing like second rounders for me before they got hurt. the wheels fell off in the second half.
good season.

Yeah, my team suffered a mini-implosion at the end. The key points for me would have come from being able to catch YR in steals, but it became apparent to me quite a while before the end that i did not have the players to do that. I did manage to claw back a point in 3s on the last day through careful roster management, but i was not a very close 2nd. In fact, it was more like a battle to not end up 3rd in the end.
Well done, everyone. Good league to be part of, and hopefully 2nd is enough to get me back to the big show after being away for quite a while!
