Welcome. Waivers have been updated and opened. You can also put your draft recaps here. |

I was a little surprised when I clicked on add a player today it didn't prompt me with whether or not I wanted to drop a player or not, but just immediately placed the new player on my roster. I had to manually drop my other player as a separate step after adding my pickup. Perhaps if both IL spots are already full, then it would prompt you. Wolfer, do you want drops made within a certain time frame after adds are made? Normally my thought would be 'immediately' but then I realized that dropped player will go on waivers and no one can pick him up until he comes off waivers anyway, so perhaps there is time to do a little research before deciding which of your other scrubs you want to drop. If you don't care that's fine too...just thought I'd ask.

I would prefer to have it done immediately. Remember, I look at the rosters each week to make sure that all the rosters are valid.

Three's and possibly FT% available for trade. I'd prefer blocks/boards in return.

I'm just kicking myself that I accidentally left Brandon Knight on the bench tonight. He would have been worth 4 points in the standings by himself. Ah, well.
Still quite early. I'm not sure if anyone knows how this compressed & shortened season will work from a fantasy perspective, but I'm fine with my team so far.

Started to send you an offer, PR but I didn't like it and cancelled it. I'll re-cast it. Is the guy I asked for from your squad on the block?

He is now. ESPN has him as the #2 SG right now (obviously that won't hold up). In fact, FT% and 3's are his calling card, so he's the perfect guy for me to move. Given his role on his team, I'm looking for a big with a similar 'money' role and not necessarily a time share guy. Did I mention he's in a contract year? :-)

Did I tell you before how frustrated I was when you drafted Knight? I was up in a few picks and he was who I really wanted there. I should have tried to trade up to get him b/c sure enough, you nabbed him. Great pick.

Is the start of this season really annoying anyone else? I know it is only a couple of games in, but seriously! There have been some major stinkers and close to "career worst" performances out here.
I think this will be the hardest fantasy season.

I think at least field goal percentage of many would take a hit in the condensed season, especially when the fatigue (back-to-back-to-back nights) starts to kick in.

And it appears teams would like to "give up" much earlier than they usually would have done, in order to prepare for another game.

Draft Disappointment. Taking Gordon so early. Damn injury already. I need to hope for a quick recovery. Not just for my team, but I was really hoping for a good season from him in general.

D. Howard J. Smith and D. Jordan
These guys are all tradeable for the right for the right price.

With Manu Ginobili out, I picked up Mario Chambers. Dunno if I needed to post, since we have no IR slot to put injured players like Ginobili into.

Taiwan One Tail has had 17 players on his roster for awhile, but only one injured player - Tyrus Thomas. Perhaps he doesn't know the injury rule.

Re: 2 and 19 From the transaction log, OneTail picked up both Henderson and Morris on Dec. 28. If there were no IS eligible players on his roster, I believe they must be dropped and all stats acquired by them thusfar must be disallowed/disqualified by our trusty commish. RIHC IS rules
Gescom posted on Dec. 28 in the above thread that Thomas was out 'with no timetable for his return.' As per the rules, I'd like to formally challenge his eligibility for IS as of that date, wolfer. I don't feel Thomas was eligible on the 28th after looking through both Rotoworld and ESPN player news for Tyrus Thomas, and here's my rationale.
As I read the entries, I understand them to mean day to day, not 'out indefinitely'. Without a clear timetable of being out (with a return coming hopefully sometime in the near future), day to day players don't become IS eligible until they've missed five consecutive games. The Bobcats played their fifth game on January 3 so probably after that game, Thomas became IS eligible and will remain so until he plays again. In my mind this means OneTail can replace him with a single player he picked up after he became IS eligible January 3 evening, both players (one regardless) have to be dropped, and all stats acquired from them (and GP) voided.
Maybe OneTail has some other sources that listed a timetable that he would definitely be out for but he just didn't post/share them.
Even so, I'm not sure why a second player was also added, which makes me wonder if indeed there is confusion over the 2 extra bench slots and how IS works. Probably some of us are new to RIHC this year.
Just a suggestion, but it seems it would be helpful to post IS claims and pickups in our thread here as PD did to keep this kind of situation from dragging on a week or more until it is discovered.

I think it should be required to post here. While Manu & Randolph are clearing IR-eligible, others might not be and this seems like a good place to make sure we are all literally on the same page when it comes to injury replacements.

I guess I learn more about the injury rule in the league right now, which means we could only have 15 players in total with two IR slots should not be filled unless we do really have IR-eligible players on our team. As such, I dropped two players moments ago considering Thomas is supposed to return soon.

[28] Is there some history for that opinion? What I remember from these discussions in the past was that it came down to whether or not there was an injury involved. IF not, no IS. If a player got suspended for five games due to a flagrant foul, no IS. If a player was disciplined by his own team for conduct detrimental, no IS. I just thought IS was always for injuries only and personal reasons would not qualify therefore based on the history of the league, but I didn't play last year so maybe that changed.

We're saying the same thing, PR. A player out for personal reasons cannot be replaced on a roster without being dropped.

I have no problem with some STATS that were accumulated being deducted. That said, if my pick of Henderson was undone, should the waiver order be reset?

[31] Ok. I misunderstood you to mean if Bogut, or Fisher when his daughter was ill, etc. missed 5 games in a row for "personal reasons" then they would become IS eligible at that point.
