The main problem with more keepers I think is keeping the "haves" in power since top talent doesn't go back into the pool as easily.
I think its a good thing that the bottom teams have some top guys to pick from. And that's coming from someone usually on top! :)

Without a term limit for player ownership, I would encourage going the other way, and drop to 4 keepers. It should encourage parity and competitiveness on a year-to-year basis.

I'd actually agree with Tosh. I'd rather see it reduced to 4, get more talent in the pool, and have more of the teams have a shot every year to move up fast. Many times in keeper leagues if you have one down year you're going to have a few in a row.

i'm not really in favor of reducing keepers. there are a TON of good players that are in the draft pool as is.
but obviously, we all have differing thoughts, so it doesnt appear as if our keeper situation will change.

Pretty funny you picked that time... half of your league is booked that night in my Money in the Bank league at 9 PM EST. Myself, Farn, Knicksfan, WG off the top of my head.
I'm not against doing both drafts that night earlier or late start even. This league is pretty short anyway with almost half the roster of keepers.
Any thought to doing Draftime slow draft? why did we switch to fast anyway? I'm cool either way, just trying to remember.
I am free 10/21, 10/22, 10/23, 10/26, 10/27 for other potential nights.

honestly, i dont want to input the players into Yahoo. that's the main reason i'd prefer to use Yahoo.
i picked that night because doing it the weekend before halloween isn't realistic, as there is a ton going on that weekend for many people.
tuesday are out for me, as well as for Tosh. i suppose i could schedule it for monday 10/21...

Back in '83, I traded some U2 tickets for Huey Lewis, Iron Maiden, and Grateful Dead tickets. It turned out, those were the shows when U2 recorded the 'Under a Blood Red Sky' live album and the 'Live at Red Rocks' concert film.

At the #1 Satyricon show, a fight at a nearby club resulted in a shooting right before PJ came on, so the energy was crazy. Eddie was swinging from the lights, and stage diving from the top of the speaker stacks. The drinks were strong and plentiful. Good times.

There were about 25 of us that rented a bus/driver to take us from Portland to Salem for the show. We had three micro-brewers (the early days of beer) on-board, and each brought kegs. I only have hazy memories of PJ.

Everyone is in. I set the draft order and 12 rounds (in addition to 5 keepers). Added a couple co-admins so more than myself has access. Anyone else who wants it let me know.
Tentative keeper deadline (post here) of 11:59 PM Sunday night with draft start time of Noon on Monday 10/21 with 6 hour time limit. We'll take the time limit off for the first round. We'll drop it down to 4 hours should we start out too slowly in subsequent rounds. Need to do 17 picks per day to finish in 1 week. 120 total draft picks to be made.
We need a volunteer to enter players into Yahoo next weekend. Tree can give yo co-commish on Yahoo temporarily.
We have a plan!

Thanks for the invite, Tree. I've been watching this league from afar for a few years now so I'm happy to be participating now! I signed up at Yahoo so I should be good to go. I have a few questions.
#1. How many players are we allowed to keep?
#2. How long are we allowed to keep players?
#3. Are draft picks allowed to be traded?
#4. How is the draft order determined?

go to your team.
underneath your team you'll see five tabs, starting with Roster. the 5th, is keepers. go to it.
that's where you check your keepers, and at the bottom, you hit "Set keepers".
you may not have noticed this, because Yahoo sucks.
the keeper deadline is tonight at 11:59 pm.
so i picked the keeper deadline on yahoo to be today.
it decided that it was some point today.
to rectify this, i moved the yahoo deadline until tomorrow.

Thanks Tree, I found it. I obviously want to keep Rondo but he is not on my roster, so what should I do with that?
Right now I just have the other 4 players checked. Let me know if there's something I should do to ensure Rondo is a keeper for me.

Tree: The Rudy Gay trade hasn't occurred on Yahoo, but I've selected the other 4 keepers of mine. I never saw (unless I overlooked it) the ability to offer a trade with DB to bring Gay over to my squad.

1. it appears to me that Punk never set his keepers, nor posted them here. for now, i've repeated his keepers from last season.
2. i don't know how to manipulate trades to move keepers to their new teams, such as Rondo, Gay, and Nerlens.
anyone know how to do this? i am sure GO has dealt with this in 101...

Can you remove those players from the draft pool? If so, we can just tag them in manually at the end of the draft.

You should have the option to Approve Keepers. From there you can set everybodies.
If a player was traded check them as a keeper on the team they were on pre-trade.
Then approve keepers. Then you can move them around on the the screen where you move around draft picks. Remove them off one team, add them to the team they belong on.

Several of my players played better than expected, my only major injuries were my Round 1 pick (Wesley Matthews) and Serge Ibaka, and I did well on the FA wire.
