OK, everybody's signed up for something. Missing one on ESPN and one on Draftime but we'll get those things straightened out. We can now begin picking drfat slots.
I propose to start the draft on Wednesday, October 12. Monday is Canadian Thanksgiving and if there are any last-minute glitches I won't be around to fix them, so I'd rather not start on Tuesday.
Guru has randomized the order for picking draft slots. I'll post it shortly.

I don't know if it's a conflict for anyone else, but Wednesday the 12th is Yom Kippur, so if my draft pick comes up earlier in the day, I won't be able to make it until that night when the holiday ends. If it's just me, then it shouldn't be a big deal.

I am giving WonderB the 6th slot, as I said I would do (post 18) when I could not get hold of someone after 24 hours. If he doesn't like it, I imagine he will be able to exchange it with somebody.
I am concerned because I have been e-mailing WonderB for several ideas with no response to get him to sign into ESPN -- the last sign-in required. However his e-addy is at yahoo.ca, and Monday is Canadian Thanksgiving. He may be travelling, hunting turkeys, or otherwise engaged in Thanksgiving activities. He is signed in at Draftime, and I will not begin worrying about his absence until Tuesday.

Thank you all.
The draft is scheduled to start OFFICIALLY Thursday October 13 at about 9 A.M. The draft will be opened sometime Wednesday so people can set queues, which means they can in fact pick -- but Wednesday participation is totally optional.
There will be no clock for the first round. A 4-hour clock will be started at the beginning of a day after the 1st round is over.
The only fly in the ointment is my inability to contact WonderB. If this has continued on Tuesday, I will contact Guru about possible replacements. Last I heard, Guru had more than one person on a waiting list.
I'll be unavailable tomorrow -- Sunday -- from around 1 P.M. till late at night. I will be around on Monday.

The draft has been opened for managers to set queues, and, if they wish, make picks.
The draft will start officially at 8 A.M. tomorrow. After that, all are expected to pick in a timely manner.
There will be no clock Thursday. A 4-hour clock will be started Friday morning and run from 8 A.M. till 12 midnight E.T., unless someone has a better suggestion for when it should run. The clock till run on weekends.
I have sent an e-mail message to all members through the ESPN site announcing the opening of the draft. If you have not received it, you are not getting ESPN mail. You should try to look into this. During the sign-up process, I stopped getting ESPN e-mails, and ones I sent out were not being received. I had to add espnfantasy@fantasygames.go.com to my internet provider's list of unblocked sites to get it working again (although the address was not listed as being blocked).

Yawn. Well this was a slow day. Disappointing day.
Note that Valkyrie has left a queue but it is unavailable. I CAN by Admin Override look at the queue, and pick from it. But I haven't been instructed to do so and so won't.
If you want me to override and pick from your unavailable queue during the rest of the draft just before you time out, if I happen to be around, let me know. Here on the message board, so your wishes are documented.
Because if you leave an unavailable queue once the clock starts running, alert players after you could make an uncountable number of picks as soon as your 4 hours run out. And if you miss a pick, your next pick can be skipped and I will skip it when you next come up.
This is why I have no clock until everyone has picked once. It is possible that Valkyrie intended to make his picks available to be picked by a designated picker, me or somebody else. But he didn't.

In attempting to change the hours of the weekend pause, I messed it up and created an ongoing weekend pause that I cannot change.

I skipped it per the normal procedure when a previous pick has been missed.
I have e-mailed Guru inviting his advice on the situation. His RIFC rules say, "In addition, if anyone is already in arrears for a pick when their next pick is due, they do not necessarily get a second clock period. This will be subject to Commissioner discretion."
After consideration, I have stopped the draft until I hear from from Guru, or Wonderboy picks. Guru is on the road so may not respond with usual promptitude.
I don't like any of the alternatives: picking 2 decent players for WonderB so his team doesn't fall too far behind, giving him a full clock each pick until he shows up, or just skipping him after another missed pick.
In addition I have developed something which may be pneumonia. I'm going to bed.
Your suggestions on what to do are welcome. If I think of nothing better, I'll reopen the draft tomorrow morning around 8 A.M. and we'll proceed as usual.

You should check your team to make sure that you have been assigned the right players -- the right Gasol, the right Morris, the right Gordon, the right Zeller etc. If you find a mistake, notify me here (and by e-mail, if you want). Don't make a waiver claim on a player you own but haven't been assigned.
2. Waivers are on. You can check your place in the waiver order under Players/Waiver Order. Waiver order is the reverse of the draft slot picking order (not the draft order).
