The snake draft will begin on Thursday October 5th with a four hour clock beginning in round 2.
The NBA regular season begins on Tuesday October 17th. Last season the draft for this league lasted 7 days.

This is only the order that is used to select draft position. However, the reverse of this order will be the waiver priority order to start the season.

There will be an overnight draft pause. Last season the 4 hour clock ran from 8am thru 12am EDT including weekends. Plan to have the same draft clock pause this season. I am willing discuss changing the time of the pause if someone objects.

There's no harm in starting the draft early without a clock to allow people to set queues if they want. And if the early pickers want to make an early selection, that's fine too.

I will start the draft without a clock on Wednesday 10/4 at 8am to allow people to set up queues. Nobody should feel obligated to pick until Thursday 10/5.

Don’t forget to utilize the Draftime pre-rank import option which will import about 300 players so you don’t have to do it manually.
It’s an aggregate rank from various sources, ADP data etc. But at least the names are all there and you can rearrange as you see fit.
You can do that now before even stepping into the actual draft.

I believe the clock should skip both picks on the end. Not trying to screw anybody, just want the draft to move forward. Which is the purpose of the clock...

There is a reason I hate ques. My worst nightmare happened as I must have inadvertently turned on auto pick while working on a general que yesterday. I hardly ever put players in a specific que and never use auto pick from general que. I did see later that there was an option on general que that turns it into auto pick. I was only considering Embiid and it is fortunate that Florian did not take him since next player listed was a player not under consideration for this round. I was out yesterday since mid afternoon and it is easier to access ideas if in que and if decision needed to be made while out.

reminds me of anouther draft league i'm in. Jimmy, one of 8 of us, drafts blake griffen for what was supposed to be his rookie season. pretty high too, like 5th round i think. it was a friday or saterday, last day of the preseason and during the draft guess which game we are watching?
yup, jimmy watched griffen go down for the season an hour after he drafted him.
thats when you know it might not be your season.

There is a draftime problem where the clock is sometimes getting set too high after the nightly pause. Emailed draftime administrator and got this reply.
"Hi, Tom! I figured out the issue, but this will be one I have to fix in the off-season. What happened is that SteelerG16 made a pick and that triggered louky15's automatic, no-delay pick for 7.09. Because this happened during a draft pause, the system messed up and, as best as I can tell, gave some portion of louky15's clock to the current pick."
I reset clock to 4 hours for twolves because it was higher than 4 hours. I will monitor this each morning sometime between 8 and 8:30, and if clock is greater than 4 hours, reset it to 4 hours.

Also got this response about the double clock at the turn. I had things set up correctly, but there was a draftime error.
"Hi, Tom! I took a look at your draft settings and the one for a single clock is set appropriately, so there must be an error somewhere that caused the issue you described. I'll have a look at the code and let you know what I find."

reeb, what's up with snatching back to back UofL guards. I was planning on those guys late in the draft. I never have a problem grabbing Cards in the last few rounds, and you cornered the market on them. I think both could nice additions to your team.

Rosters have been loaded into ESPN. Please check your roster for errors. All undrafted players are on waivers until Sunday. The initial waiver order has been set to the reverse of the draft selection round order.

My old friends may remember me from TSN or even Smallworld. Would love to be in on this one year or another. I keep checking on this too late, but if you send out an email list, would that be possible for the playoffs or whenever you next run a league?

Being a newbie, I have a question about the game counts that are applied to the limit. I have Frank Kaminsky in my lineup (stop laughing, please). He apparently is sick and in pre-game warm-ups, it was determined he would not be able to play and was declared out. I'm assuming that since he did not appear in the game, that this will not count as a game played at that roster spot. Is my assumption correct?

Yes but depends on ESPN.
In past ESPN does not register as game played unless he enters game even if on active roster.

Well, the season is coming to a close and it looks like my frantic efforts to catch lightning in a bottle and catch TD will fall short. Some pick-ups have helped (thanks Trey!), others not (Harrison and Harkless come up injured the day I pick them up). But it's been a fun season despite the frustrations everyone has had with injuries and "rest" days. The Brow is a God. And Kelly Olynyk is my hero! Never thought I'd ever feel that way. Hopefully my guys finish strong and make the last couple of games meaningful and TD has to sweat a little. Already looking forward to next year! Best of luck to all down the stretch.

One day to go and TD leads 71 to 70. Lets see who plays tonight and how many minutes. I have a chance to pick up points in 3PT and Assists and could lose 1 in FT%. Hopefully the Sixers don't brick most of Ben's passes like they did last night! Best of luck TD!

Thanks TD. I was fortunate that my core guys (Davis, George, Simmons, McCollum) had something to play for the last game. Also, the late season pickups (Burke, Hezonja, Tolliver, Payne) came through with solid outings and the last day pickups (Kennard, Larkin) both played big, productive minutes. The team in aggregate produced 29 3 pointers, 75 rebounds and 56 assists to get the 3 additional points. Way beyond my hopes or expectations. I had a great time with this league and am looking forward to next year. Maybe I'll lead the league in number of transactions again next year!
