Looks like Mineshaft wins Horse of the Year and Older Horse honors. Other winners are listed here
What a landslide. He got 209 of a possible 248 votes with second place Congaree getting only 11 votes.
The Horse of the Year award culminated a season in which Mineshaft won 7 of 9 starts, including four Grade 1 races - the Pimlico Special, Suburban Handicap, Woodward Stakes, and Jockey Club Gold Cup.

I saw Mineshaft win the Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont in the fall. That horse was in a league of his own. Dominating from start to finish.

You're right. Mineshaft was/is a great horse. I don't know if he is retired now or not.
