I think this is a good system:

32 players in a "Last Team Standing" pool, with a twist -- point-spreads count -- which means your team could change each game.

Here's how it works:
-- Blind draw: 2 NCAA teams per player (Teams will be devided into 2 halves of bracket, to avoid your 2 teams meeting until championship game)
-- HERE IS THE FUN PAT: Winning team always advances, but if winning team doesn't cover, the "owners" of the team changes in next round.

Example:
-- No. 2 seed Pittsburgh is favored by 20 points vs. No. 15 Wagner in first round.
-- If you have Wagner, but covers the spread, you get Pittsburgh in second round. Favorites have to cover for you to keep 'em ... Drawing low seeds isn't a bad thing!
-- If the favorite wins, covers, you keep 'em

Pretty Simple ... Point Spread will be Hartford Courant's printed daily line on morning edition of the games, all the way through the championship game.

We've been doing this pool for years in my office, with smaller prizes going to the 'owners' that make the final 4 and finals. Additionally, we give a prize to the first 'owner' to have both their teams out (based on the actual clock time that their second team is eliminated). It is hilarious to see one of my buddies scream "no don't take a timeout" when two first round games are about to end around the same time.

This pool is quite fun, just because there is no bad pick with the blind draw and it makes all of the games really meaningful to someone.

We usually do another draw for another pool with just the sweet 16 with winner taking all since most of us are dead with our brackets by then.
