a short explanation is all i need here ... why did monmouth and hampton need to havea play in game ... do they not get at large bids..? if so why ? thanks alot for the info in advance ..

The "Play-in" game came about because a new DI conference was created a couple of years ago and the powers that be didn't want to have 1 less at large berth to hand out.
