There are 311 entries in this year's contest, essentially the same number as in 2014.I've posted a sortable summary of 2015 unit selections. Click on any linked column heading to sort by that column. A few quick observations: - Favorite shorts are Kansas, Big East basket, Georgetown, #4 seed bracket, and Virginia
- Favorite longs are Kentucky, Arizona, Wichita State, Michigan State, and Iowa State.
- Kentucky was the most active unit, with 177 longs and 30 shorts. Still, that means that Kentucky does not appear (in its pure team form) on one-third of all slates.
- Every unit had some activity. The two units with the lightest activity were Belmont and North Dakota State, each with on long and one short.

The 39 people who shorted Iowa State are well on their way.
I on the other hand am well on my way to finishing last for a second straight season.

Down goes Baylor.
I see you 105 people who shorted the Big 12. Well done so far!

My 1 1/2 year old daughter currently has the top entry among GuruPatrons for both basket & non-basket entries.
Granted she likes dogs and birds and her strategy of Albany to the Elite 8 is probably not going to pan out. But regardless, proud papa. :)

An oddity of the contest is that Chuck is leading the "exclude" category and is long all 4 of the final four teams, but he is not guaranteed to win. If my math is right, I think I can still catch him if MSU and UK win on Saturday. But I hope he wins, as I am a Duke fan.

What a great game. After a few years of playing I almost understand how it works. However, I need a bit of help understanding the scoring of a #1 vs #1 game, like we had in the Final Four and will have again Monday night in the final game. I see that the winner gets 16 pts (plus any bonus for winning it all) but what does the loser get? Is it zero, or does it get -16 (if picked as a long) or +16 (if picked as a short)?

Loser gets 0, since it's not an upset.
Winner gets 26 (16+10)

Yeah, Smith32-- I was thinking the same thing. I didn't run the numbers, but being so long so many teams still alive had me at risk, especially if Michigan State pulled upsets on my other #1 teams.
I'm super stoked to win basket-free. This is the only fantasy game I still play because it's just fun, doesn't take much time, and there are multiple ways to win. No one else around me gets this contest, but I love it and have my wife and daughter playing now, too.
