Well, not much to report from Madman stables. 2 wins, 8 ITM in 14 tries. Brown Bro and Bart Accordian with their 3rd consecutive wins for Madman4 stables. But both streaks are in restricted starter allowances. Key West with a disappointing 60.4 speed. But I can hope it was the "Good" rather than "Firm" turf. Or maybe she likes dirt a lot more. Too early to give up hope on this expensive homebred. Still got me some breeding points back, although not very many.

I'll post a new horse list at some point this weekend.

Hero Grub gets her 4th win in a starter allw. running a 96SP, 8f dirt. I'm a bit confused with my bargain 2yo's. Ally's Article(gb) came back a little groggy when I only raced him at .90 (work out). Ally's Logic was rtg, ran a 68 at 100%, gets a show, and comes back sharp! Ally's King was sharp, runs a 64 at 100%, shows, and comes back needs rest. Hard to figure. Seems like the first two should be reversed.

Erica Bark ran her best time of 92 for a show, and Sally Plow ran a nice 87 for a place. Hardly Piddle squeaked out a 4th. I think that was it. Didn't pick any jockeys this week, so wonder if that hurt. Most of my horses jumped out early.

Sounds like a solid week, StL.

Regarding your 2yo's, that's a tough one. Even if you tell a jockey to run 90%, they may not be able to read the horse well enough. And if he thinks he has a chance to win, he's going 100% regardless.

The typical thing for me is to have them coming back "needs rest". I typically train them for 5 weeks out. If they were Little Groggy I might go for 4 weeks out. I'd be wary that coming back sharp after their first race. That's kind of a bummer, actually. Sal at the Bell (3yo) was sharp after his win in 1201, and I refused to run him. I do think that properly rested horses tend to run better in the long haul. With that said, getting the first couple of races for 2yo's out of the way is critical. After that, all of mine have fallen into a pattern. So, who knows.

Congrats on a good week.

Looks like a promising start to the "Ally" crop Stl...I wouldn't run the sharp one again..If you have a look at the mess i have made of Mars can(cab)in his last few starts it would be a perfect reason not to..He ran a couple of really nice races once i got him racing, then after his second placing he came back sharp...I ran him again the following week and he bombed...I gave him 3-4 weeks off and he bombs again,bigtime(23sp,no injury)...He was sharp this week but i didn't race him...they were stakes races admittedly(owner rest.)but the competition wasn't all that strong(not in the first stakes race anyhow)...

I have been back to the breeding shed again...3 more cheapo's will be hitting the track this week...Two of them come into the barn sharp, don't kbow what that means really...

Prosperous lady....Prosperous bid x Lord triad x Slewvescent...2yo filly...cost 15bp's(cab)

Big foot...Departing prints x Presto lad x High kicker...2yo colt..cost 6 bp's(pepe31)

Blame the rum...Storm god x Slewvescent x I'ma hell raiser...2yo colt ...cost 17 bp's(pepe31)

We shall see how they go!...Am not sure wether to run them in claimers this time...It doesn't seem to matter that people can actually breed them cheaper than what they would claim them for..

Had a pretty average sorta week this week..Only 3 itm(1 win)from 11 starts...Lots of "near" misses though...Yankee alphabet is coming along nicely...He ran 13f this week, finishing 2nd but with a sp of 92..He hasn't dropped speed, the further he has gone..Am not sure whether to keep stretching him out further or sticking to the 10-12f range(dirt)...I took him to Europe to get more turf races but he didn't go that great at 10f on the grass,so going longer on the grass doesn't seem like a good option to me...Any thoughts?..
