As this season winds down what are everyone's plans as far as free agents? My Indians don't have the cap room to sign too many but my minors are strong. Is anyone planning an Orlando Magic-like assault on the free agent market? |

I (the Royals) will try to land 1 big free agent in an attempt to put my team over the top.

The Padres bid an insane $120 million on Matt Williams!

I was trying to get 1B ortiz, I only put in a few bids then it got a little to pricy. He went for 2 years for 25 million, i think.

thats ridiculous-he must have stock piled a ton of money last season. i reaped quite a bit from the post season but i dont think i could afford to sign a player for that kind of money. 24,000,000 a year...wow well good job keeping him under contract i guess.

Ortiz did go for 12.5 a year. $24 million is a little out of hand. There was a biding war of epic proportions. That guy paid $18 million in signing bonus alone! (15% of $120 million) but Williams is a great player.

i had ortiz last year and would have done a sign and trade deal for only 3.5 million a year plus a prospect in return. i guess this is a lesson learned for future free agent seasons.

Ortiz was .020 pionts in AVG away from winning the Quadruple Crown. Who much was Ortiz asking for 1 year?

Only 4 million-I didn't want him anymore and no one seemed to want him in a trade. i would have gladly signed him to a deal and traded him to anyone interested. but i asked a few people and no one seemed interested. i would always try and help anyone out if it doesn't get in the way of my objectives.

After everyone got one season under their belts the trade offers have really taken off. I can't go a day without wanted to swap with someone. This may be horrible to say but GSB is actually taking some of my attention off of Smallworld. Oh well I love it.

I have quit my smallworld team all together! I was just getting the hang of it to. I'm looking to trade Hatteberg (still) I haven't got ANY offers yet. I just want a player with high Avg. and maybe a few bucks.
