Hi folks, I'm getting ready to play SW baseball for the first time. I have an elementary question about how price gains work: Does one make gains based on the "purchase" price of each player
or only if one's roster value exceeds $50 mill.? I assume the former, but hear prices thrown around like everyone has a team worth close to $50 mil to start. In other words, is it a viable strategy to start with virtually all cheapies and have a rock bottom team payroll to make initial price gains?
Or, is it not worthwhile to have a payroll of, say, $30 mill to start, for example.

Hey there--just a heads up....this part of the message boards is for GrandSlamBaseball. To ask questions about SW, go to the "Baseball Forum" which can be found in the drop down menu that says "Index of Forum Topics".

As for your question. Yes, the former is correct. It is a viable strategy to have all cheapies, so long as they're producing well and attracting attention. However, they just don't get you the points the way studs do. You need a balance to do well. Good luck.
