The Cubs/Dodgers trade does seem a little fishy.

What can be done with such a trade? I agree that trade is a major rip off, but what can be done?

Does the owner of the Dodgers ever post in this thread? I would be curious to hear his logic behind making the trade

I have never seen the dodgers in here. nor when sanchez puts the guru standings, does he include the dodgers. i don't know what that is worth, but i agree with you whitey. I would love to hear the dodgers reasoning behind that move.

Enough of the unfair trade talk. I have seen some pretty outrageous offers proposed and plenty accepted in this division and my other one (Z2, which I am one game away from winning the World Series. Probably just jinxed myself, but I have a great Royals team)

The trade was a fair trade, maybe it helps Sanchez more than the Dodgers owner, but he had the hustle to be out there improving his team.

How about the A** whooping I put on them Padres tonight?????? You slicked me out of a trade I had with the Stro's for Bohanon. Again, I look at what you gave him and can't help but think you got the better deal. Then again, after his performance tonight, who knows...lol

I like this game and I like our divison. I don't think the game/sim is as accurate as we would like it to be, but neither is real baseball.

On a final note, I would like to congratulate the Mets on an outstanding draft. You got the best player in Swift at the 4th position. He is young and will be ready for the bigs in a 3-4 seasons. I can't believe I nabbed two catchers.

I rated OF and RP pretty low but still managed to grab a couple RP. I decided to sign all of my draft picks but one(alas, another catcher). Why not? I can't possibly play every player in my minors and who knows who will become a great player? If someone wants to make a sign and trade move for the catcher I didn't sign, let me know. I think his name was Vince...something or another. 14 or 15th round.

I would like to be a part of the camraderie we had last season again. Everyone quit taking this sh*t for more than what it really is...a game.
A game that you have little control over....21 runs....lol. My team has no right being in first. My pitching sucks and my hitting is all done with mirrors. I hope you all have a great day tomorrow and Sanchez.....Just because you aren't whooping everyones butt doesn't mean you don't have to post standings anymore. Get busy brother.

I agree with TB that we have a good group in this league. I also don't like to hear bitching, but i think it is good to question some things. if there is a question about my trade with the padres, i will answer what ever questions come up.

but back to you tb, nice job with the padres. i am sure brock is pissed off!

Here's what the jackass Commish wrote me about the trade:

"I looked at the trade and believe that the trade was made in good faith. I have looked at some of our data and have no reason to believe that the owners are the same person.

The Cubs received two very good pitchers, but gave up five decent prospects and two average major leaguers. I think the trade for 2 prospects for $250K was a continuation of the trade, since the game only allows a five player deal."

Prospects my ass!!! Who says they have to be the same person?

Has anybody heard from Sanchez? Where you at brutha? I don't think we should let one trade put a damper on a very good league. TB is right that there are always going to be some trades that help out one team more than the other. I'm sure that Sanchez isn't that thrilled right now with the trade after what Ramos did last night. Let's move on and chalk it up as a brain cramp on the part of the Dodgers.

I have absolutley no idea what the hell happened there. The sim totally screwed me over. There's no way in hell my staff gives up 21 runs in a game. Somebody must have put a virus on the server that runs the sims because they went whacko last night. Maybe TB gave the Commish a little extra money this week.

Dang, so much for letting the Indians run the sim tonight. Swept by the division rivals...argh!!
My guys were still tired from all the running around the bases against the Padres. Heck, our arms are still sore from all the extra batting practice we got against them.

I noticed the Padres are still on a skid. I must have really shaken their pitchers confidence.

Sanchez got a dose of Mets medicine and looks to be back on track. The Cards and Braves are looking strong too. The Giants got to feast on the sorry Dodgers. What I don't understand is how they even manage to win a game weekly. I haven't checked, but I bet they still don't have 4 starting pitchers on their MLB team.

For anyone who cares, I won the World Series tonight against the Cubs in Division Z2. It took 5 games to win it all. I think that team will compete for many years.
I made a ton of money in the off season. I bet close to 20 million. Seems like my team had about 48 million going into play-offs and now has about 68 million.

I guess I shouldn't have said all those bad things to the commish the other night. He is really screwing me over. How in the hell can a team lose 4 games to the Astros? I'll tell you how. Piss the commish off and he'll screw with the simulator, at least that's what I want to think happened. I have to go. I here a choking noise coming from the locker room.

PP - You racked around the mid-season favorite for the Cy Young last night and 1 of the top relievers in the league.

Enders 5IP, 6ER, 11H
Adkins 1IP, 3ER

These guys were basically unhittable all year long coming into the game with a sub-2.00 ERA. Good job...2 games now separating 3 teams in the NL East

1st in ERA
2nd in Wins
4th in K's

Before his last start, Enders was hands-down the leading candidate for the Cy Young. After giving up 6 runs and 11 hits in his last start, here is where they are now:

Enders 8-0 2.48 80IP, 69H, 8BB, 41K
Bluma 6-3 2.09 82IP, 66H, 15BB, 55K

I think the voters will like the winning percentage (100%) and the strikeout to walk ratio (5 to 1) for Enders ;) Still got 5 more starts each...a lot could happen

Mariners here--Just found the new newsboard. ;)

Looks like another failed attempt to catch the Royals--my hat's off to those guys. Still, 5 out with 8 to play so I gotta shot. It's just frustrating that I could end up with a better record than some division leaders, but that's just the way the game goes I guess. But if we can't win it, I hope Logos and the Royals do.

Unfortunately, now that I'm back from my trip I will be moving soon, so I could be offline for quite a while. I have emailed the commish so they shouldn't cancel my team, but the offseason looks to be a waste. As soon as I get back, I'll probably dump the team and start over. (Then again, watch my team do better when I stop messing with it.)

Man, this thread sure has been quiet the last few days. I guess Sanchez is on vacation. He hasn't logged into his team for the last week. That hasn't stopped him from moving into a first place tie with Purple Pimp. The NL east is still tight right down to the very last week. The Cubs and Braves are tied for first and go head-to-head while my staggering Cardinals are 1 game back and go up against the Mets.

You're blaming the sweep on the sim. I think it was just the Cubs being on fire for the last 10-15 games. I was hoping you guys would split. It would have been a 3 way tie then, pretty crazy. Oh well, Cubs make the playoffs again.

Should be a very good playoffs. Cubs, Padres, Orioles and Royals all with very good teams. Since the Padres tend to go into prolonged slumps, I have to pick the Cubs in the National league and I will go with the Royals juggernaut in the American.

I'm having a tough time with that Orioles pitching staff. Better than being swept like the regular season I guess. I could beat everyone this year but them. I guess it's only fitting I should have to beat them to make the WS. Go Royals!!!

Lol. I was thinking same thing. You see who I am starting against you if it goes to 7? Everyone else hit Newman and Reed this year except the Royals.

I am the Royals in Z2. The Indians whooped me 7 out of 8 during regular season. Heck, they accounted for almost half of my losses. I was very happy to beat them in 5 on the way to winning my World Series. In season 2, all my pitchers forgot how to pitch. Clark has a 5.62 ERA. Daal is over 6. I sent Flohr back to minors with a 9+ ERA. I just waived Wohlers and his 15.62 ERA. He wouldn't resign with me and nobody is going to trade for him. Percival and Menhart have both blown leads and have a loss or two to go along with their 3+ ERA. Heck, Mesa blew a save and has a 3+ ERA as well.

I started Downs off in the bullpen as my middle relief. I had Micah Bowie as a free agent pick-up. He went 10-2 the year before and a sub 3.00 ERA. I have moved Downs to the #1 slot and he is the only one playing at his ability. It is very frustrating. I have moved several players around and called up some RP that probably should stay in the minors for another season. If I keep losing I will test out several players and work on a better draft position for next year.

Good luck tomorrow. I am a Royals fan, but will have to root for the O's in 6.

Sanchez is the luckiest bastard EVER, check this out:

Game 7 NLCS, series tied at 3 (duh)

Bottom of Inning 9, Padres 3, Cubs 2.

Rodriguez enters the game to pitch. Mattern Singles. Palmeiro Grounds out. Mattern moves to 2nd. Hidalgo Walks. Burton Singles. Mattern scores. Hidalgo moves to 2nd. Laker Singles. Hidalgo scores. Cubs win! Cubs win! Cubs win!

They will face the Royals in the World Series.

So much for my theory of clicking adds to win it all....hehehe.

Sanchez hasn't logged on since the 24th. I think I have put way too much thought into this game of randomness.

Congrats on winning the AL Logos. Makes us proud and win it all.

Do you guys switch up your middle relief, or do you let the same guy pitch in all four games. Being the series, I'm running my best relief and taking a chance on injury, but does it affect performance?

Sanchez is a definitely a lucky bastard. Rodriquez is one of the top 2 closers in the league and he gives up 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th in game 7 of the NLCS. Unbelievable!!! Oh well, there's always next year as the Cubs fans say it.

Logos, I usually use my best guy for MR three times. I put my second best in there for other game, where I have a solid starter and dont expect him to be used anyways.

I used Whitley for MR in all 4 games for a while last year and he started giving up hits more often. I reduced him to 3 games and his ERA went back down.
