First of all, Nick Johnson is a part of my present as well as my future. I traded away an ace to get him two years ago, and he's about as close to untouchable as you can get... almost as much as...

Glauber is still on my untouchable list (a real short one with two people on it). I just wish he'd progress a little faster. I need more great starters to get over the hump.

That said, the offer to the Royals is pretty hefty. I included five players, and I fully expect each of the five to be significant contributors to his team in the future, some sooner than others...

I wasn't even aware that the Royals had a present. You might want to reconsider your offer blue hen. ;-)

Offering him your second tier prospects for his starters Blue Hen? You wouldn't try to take advantage of a new owner would you? :)

That's a little unfair, G.O. After all, we don't know who he offered (except that it wasn't Johnson or Glauber).

You're right Bean Dip....I'm sure Johnson, Greive, and Greene were in there

I've said time and time again that Thompson is available... You must not be listening. Greene I have a tough time trading only because he's so young as well as talented. But he's far from untouchable.

I'm all set with trading right now Blue Hen. I was just wondering out loud if they were offered to Kevin. No need to respond, as that is priviledged information, and they were probably involved anyway.

They may have been... he hasn't responded yet... One trade I am looking to make is with my third basemen, Scott Rolen and Junior Zamora. At this point, both are capable starters in the major leagues, but alas, there is only one third base in baseball. Two third bases would be a bit awkward, I presume... So if you've got a stud outfielder to offer... I might even throw in someone like Baines or Kirgan...

Blue Hen , your prsopects are probably better than my starters. Wait , that was a rip on myself , DOH. Ok , well anyways I will go check the trade out.

Ok , Braves I have sent you a email about a trade , and Indians I have sent one to you too. I am open to suggestions about them , but I think I will end up being the Cubs of this league rebuilding every year.

Is Chris from the White Sox in our league the same as the guy who does the stats analysis (and our next Guru Jr)?

Who needs a third baseman? Scott Rolen and Chris Kirgan for your stud outfielder... Maybe more... maybe less...

OK, as we hit the offseason, I have two things I will entertain offers for...

1. A stud outfielder
2. Stud hitting prospects, below 20

Major leaguers offered:
Junior Zamora (or Scott Rolen for the right deal)
Mandy Romero
Matt Halloran
Greg LaRocca
Vlad Guerrero
Jeff Zimmerman
Woody Williams
Ricky Bottalico
Brett Black

All minor leaguers are available (for the right price) except Jeff Harris, Keith Glauber, and Clay Greene. Ben Grieve will also be hard to wrest away, but he's gettable.

So get those offers in...

Wow. Got my series. Fittingly, it went seven, just like last year. Also fittingly, Justin Thompson got the win, and Robb Nen got the save.

Minutes later, however, i was shocked to discover that Delino Deshields, Jeff Abbott, and Barry Larkin all retired. I may have a busier off-season than i thought. I'm looking forward to every bit of it though.

Wow. Stupid Erickson retired. On what was a maybe Cy Young year (few votes left). And someone already is outbidding me on free agents. Didnt get very many last year but need some this year. Gonna be a long few days.

Just curious...what are players going for in you're league? I set high bids right away and they havn't been topped, but maybe I overpayed...

Although "overpayed" may be a relative term as I have LOTS of money to spend...

I sent you all an email, but i thought I would say it here too:

Robb "the best closer in the league" Nen, AKA Robb "hasn't blown a save in 2 years" Nen, AKA Robb "do you get the feeling i like this guy Nen, will not resign with me. Thus, I will be entertaining offers.

All you teams trying to jump in front of G.O., this means you.

Just acquired David Ortiz. I am not letting sliced bread beat me again this year. Especially with a sweep in the next to last week of the year.

ooo. I get to make the 200th post. Man I traded for Ortiz and that brings my weekly salary up to 3.75 mil. Plus I have a bid on Colon for 9 mil a year. That will bring me to 4.25 mil a week. I might need to drop some salary.

I wouldn't consider it overspending if i had lost $10 mil and won the series. That is, after all, the goal of the game.

I wasn't so much saying that you guys overspent, I was more trying to point out that I spent a cnsiderable amount less. Although my cheaper players did not make the series, I thought they had a very good chance.

Just my opinion.

Comparatively speaking I meant. I agree that winning it all should be first priority at all times. No amount of money could replace the feeling I will get when I win the season 3 series.

A little late but I found the list I was keeping track of voting on. So here goes...

NL MVP - Todd Hollandsworth Braves
NL Cy Young - Scott Erickson Giants
NL ROY - Sean DePaula Padres

AL MVP - Jose (maybe John but Im pretty sure it was Jose) Valentin Rangers
AL Cy Young - Jeff Austin Orioles
AL ROY - Brian Fields Mariners

He wanted to go out on top. Didn't ever want to be a has-been. Actually though, since ratings don't decrease if a vet plays every day, theoretically, most players will retire at the top of their game.

I think we need a better system for Northern Leaguers. I put in bids at about 4:15 on 20 or so players. The 15 worst ones all ended up on my roster. All other five are all on the Orioles, conceivably because he logged on for two hours and beat every bid thrown his way while I was stuck in an airport.

I agree with the hen on this one. I had a concert to go to and could stay and make bids all night. I ened up with 4 sub par (Bergman) Northern leaguers who cant even make my top prospects.

I know that the commish was examining using blind bids for Northern Leaguers and if I'm not mistaken, the system is currently in the test league.

How do you feel about BJ Surhoff? I love him too, but I want a REAL potent bat in my outfield. Thinking about a package - Surhoff, Junior Herndon, Adam Riggs, Rob Bell, perhaps (names and numbers negotiable) - for your best outfielder. If the cash works, it might get done quicker than you think. Studs only please...
