Hey,
I'm the Orioles. And I'm paying my team way too much. It's at about $82 million or so. I'm actually looking to maybe trade some of my high priced players. Lofton making 17 million is what is killing me. But at least I'm in first place with the best hitting team in the AL and the best pitching in the league. Hopefully my home gate will be enough to carry me until I get to the playoffs. I guess I'm trying to pull a Dan Snyder with the Redskins and buy my championship now. Sachin | |||||

I have a problem in that I am due to lose Valentin to FA as he won't sign. If anyone else is in the same boat with some maxed out stud give me a shout and we may well work a trade. I have had it confirmed that even if they won't resign with you they will definately sign with anyone they are traded to. There's always the risk with these maxed out MVP candidates that they may always retire but that's life. Valentin : 501 Ave, 500,495, 429 spd, 490+ def Plays SS/2nd I'll trade him straight up for Bohannon, Mr Sachin | |||||

Hey, I don't think I want to give up my Cy Young award winning pitcher just for a guy to put me over the edge. Bohanon is still fairly young, while Valentin is probably close to retiring. Lofton and Burrows are my only 2 guys who don't want to resign. Maybe you will be willing to part with Valentin for Burrows or Lofton and some prospects. Although, Lofton is my team MVP so far. I might not want to mess with my teams chemistry. Offer me a deal, and we'll take it from there. Sachin | |||||

I inserted him into the rotation, and he is, indeed, going through the league like a tornado. Why the previous owner had him in middle relief is beyond me. Why I had him in middle relief is chalked up to inexperience and, frankly, stupidity. Thanks for making me look more closely at him. Well, Flyin Chip, I'm as surprised as you are. I was hoping to split with you. A sweep was very unexpected. I'm not complaining, mind you, but unexpected nonetheless. It's going to be a tall order to catch me now, with an 8 game lead and 20 games left in the season. I think the biggest difference so far (knock on serious wood) is that I haven't had many injuries this season. I surely hope that this trend holds up. Good luck. | |||||

LTA, You just took me behind the woodshed for a good ole fashion ass kickin. there is no way i'm going to catch you this year. i was gonna try to make a play for mark clark, but there is no way i could make up the eight game difference. i just hope i can make a little run to keep the gate revenue up. Former owners... I found my ace middle reliever on my AAA team. At first I thot he had managed to win the world series without stripping his farm system in trade but his whole AA team is almost all single star for AVE batters. Eeks. At least he held his salary around 40 mil. I thot that was pretty impressive actually. | |||||

What happpened to everyone on our board? Did you all give up.. It has been dormant since last thursday. After I closed the gap so well, I fell apart against when it mattered the most. The guy I want to keep most on my team wont' resign with me. (Bastard :) ) But I should have a pretty similar team next season. My pitching staff seams to be pretty good. I just need some good power in my line up and good avg hitters. Good luck to all through the post season and free agency. | |||||

I'm still here, it just seemed that there has been little to comment upon. My division race has been pretty quiet as I won by 11, and the rest of the races have not seemed to really go down to the wire much...well, except for the NL West, but IIRC, the winning team has a record around .500. Actually, I am concerned about the O's. They are bleeding free agents to the debt pool on waivers. Not a good sign for a potential World Series team this year. | |||||

Thanks guys, for the compliment. I just hope that my guys can live up to the pre-season (post-season??) hype this year, and make it to the playoffs again. Also on my wish list is not folding in the first round to a .500 club. GRRRR.... Anyway, I'm looking, as you may well remember, to move Mike Lyons. FC, I really don't want to trade him to you (obvious reasons), but he is a quality #2 starter, who has almost outperformed my #1 starter at times. If you really want a good starter, FC, I might be persuaded to trade him to you (sound of gun cocking to shoot me in the foot). I am willing to move him because I have a couple of kids at AAA that really deserve a shot at the majors this year and beyond. Anyway, if anyone is interested, he is available up to the trading deadline, barring injuries. I'm going to put out some feelers, so if you are interested, speak up soon, owing to the fact that if I get a positive response on an offer I like, i'll take it, and you may be out of luck.
