I need help from you vet's out there... tonight is the last week of our season and I'm in first place in our division by one game... my problem is that my stud, Aramis Ramirez, comes off the DL after this week's games and I'm not sure how to handle it... can I change my roster tomorrow?? I don't think I can... if not then should I set my playoffs roster today and let the sim place someone in Ramirez' slot tonight??? I need to know because I really need his bat for the playoffs...

Thanks...

You can't change your roster after the season is over. You can, however change your lineup (obviously). I would say put him on your MLB roster today. If you have another 3B, you can start him in your last series. If you don't--or won't once you bounce someone to create room for Aramis--just let the sim put someone in his place. I doubt that there is much the commish will be able to do for you, but i guess it is worth a try.

Also, if you are looking to transition into a 3-man rotation in the playoffs, you can use your 4th starter as a long reliever and demote your worst reliever, thus creating room for Aramis and your backup 3B. Just some food for thought.

well the problem isn't making room for him on the roster, it's making room for him in the lineup... I only have 22MLB players now anyway... what I'm thinking is leaving my 3B position blank then putting that blank in the 4-hole (where I bat Amiris) that way the sim will pick the best player at that position... then when Amiris is healed he will be put in that spot by the sim... I think...

As long as he is on your MLB roster you will be fine. You can adjust your lineup once you are in the postseason. Just not your roster. Last year i made adjustments in my rotation during the postseason (made my 4th starter a reliever for the series).

What the roster freeze means is that you can't call up a player from your minor leagues. This doesn't mean that your lineup is frozen.Any player on your ML roster can be put in your lineup(except players that are on the DL for that week). In other words when Ramirez comes off the DL after tonight's games you will be able to manually put him at 3B in your lineup.

thanks jaysuade... that's exactly what I wanted to hear... especially since he's getting a little brittle and I want him to play DH prob 2 times a week and I really don't want his replacement hitting in the 4 hole...
