Alright, I've added League C3's data to the mix. Now the data includes leagues L2, M2, and C3.
Rating | AB | H | AVG | 491-501 | 42250 | 14461 | 0.342 | 481-490 | 12288 | 4035 | 0.328 | 471-480 | 25861 | 8302 | 0.321 | 461-470 | 35771 | 11062 | 0.309 | 451-460 | 39272 | 11434 | 0.291 | 441-450 | 31870 | 9147 | 0.287 | 431-440 | 33395 | 9262 | 0.277 | 421-430 | 17027 | 4582 | 0.269 | 411-420 | 20333 | 5420 | 0.267 | 401-410 | 15170 | 3839 | 0.253 |

Is there anyway you could construct a table similar to this one that combined GAP/AVE in one column, SPD/AVE in another, and just AVE like up above? This way we could isolate which factors more into improved hitting. Only if it wouldn't be too much work and the data is all handy, I thank you for this table here and all your efforts toward understanding the game.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "combined". I'm almost positive that the ONLY factor in BA is AVG(besides opposition pitching of course...)

I mean simply add them together, so that a perfect score would be 1000 instead of 500. If you had one column with the BA of the people with gap/ave, speed/ave, and straight up average we could be sure what all goes into it. Just a thought.

Eat Acid--I don't think adding up and comparing AVG+GAP vs. AVG+SPEED would do the trick. To get a good answer to your question, you need to control one of the variables. For instance you could do GAP vs. SPEED for all batters with the same AVG ranking, and compare their BA, SLG %, and OBP. However, to do this you would need a very large sample group to get any kind of decent results, seeing as how there are so few people with AVG rankings exactly the same in each league. My guess is that Chris could do this, but he would need a lot of cooperation from other managers in other leagues in collecting data.
