I am extremely excited about this season....My team started 3-1. I have a young team....I hope that I will be a team to contend with for a long time.....I hope to compete for a playoff spot this year and I think I still have a pretty strong farm system so if I have some holes I can plug them with my farm system

Cool....another 3-1 series....I just hope I am not jinxing my team. In my first season my team did not win one series.....now I won 2 in a row !! Not to mention tied for the best record in the league....shame that the team I am tied with is in my division

hmmm... what is up with our games? If you look at the calendar it shows that we are on week 3, which is correct. But it says the day of the week 3 games should be the 11th. We are supposed to have the 12 off. So are we going to get games tonight or not? interesting.

LTA, ya know i'm just playin around. i can't go wishin ya good luck after you killed me all last year. you had some players retire and i'm going to make some big moves to make a run.

Never mess with a good thing. My team was 6-2 then I decided to sit my few older players so the younger players can get better and I promptly go 1-3. Well I think I will stay this as I think my team cannot go all the way this year. So I would rather have a team that can do it for years straight then one that might do it now. I don't think I have one hitter over 25 or 26.

FC, I didn't have anyone retire on me this year. All of those that left my roster did so because they were, well, dead weight. There are a couple more I'd like to replace, but they will just have to do for the time being. As to this year, it seems that you might just have the chance to bash my head in, as I have had two straight 1-3 series, and now face the Orioles. Things are not looking good in the Big Apple, and I expect fan riots soon if the Mets don't turn it around.

Damn, this is the start to a season I have been looking for. Solid hitting and good pitching are giving the w's I need. Look at everyone, Playoff bound finally. ;)

This season is shaping up to be a good one for me so far. My pitching has been stellar and my hitting is starting to come around. Early on my hitters were struggling big time so I rearranged my batting order and bingo, tripled my runs per game. Another thing that amazes me is the difference between the two leagues. The American league is dominated by pitching (just look at the batting averages), and the National league looks to be the league of hitters. Well, I'm off to scout the Northern leagues.

LTA, what happened to ortiz? i thought you had him last year. Anyways, big showdown for first place in the NL East. In what is becomming a tradition, the cubbies and mets duke it out for first place in the nl east. good luck, but not too much.

FC, Do you mean David Ortiz? If so, I have had him since the game started. Although I don't expect to have him very much longer, as he is getting old for the game.

3/4, not to shabby. got a little revenge for last year's drubbing. i still don't think my SP is strong enough to go all the way.

Lurking, hoping your team breaks it's collective leg. ;) Looks like we might be in for another battle this year in the NL East. Of course, your move to acquire Thompson just might tilt it to your advantage. We'll see.

Thanks to the Redsox pickups I have decided to throw in the towel for the season. Mark Clark, Robb Nen, Chris Hoiles, Greg LaRocca and others are up for trade. In return I would like hitting prospects(preferably AAA) or money offers.

Thompson and now Clark??? Sheesh, FC, are you channeling Steinbrenner, or what? ;-) Buchster, as you are aware (or will be/should be), I too have an offer already on the table for him. I'd appreciate an email one way or the other. Good luck, FC.

payroll isn't that big of an issue for me. i've got some old players that are on the verge of retirement so that'll free up some cash. and i don't care if i lose some money for a couple of years, as long as i'm winning. lta, do we play again this year? i have not checked yet.

Yeah, FC, next to last series of the year. Looks like the annual ritual of playing chicken between the Mets and Cubs is alive and well. We'll see who flinches first. ;)

I think that Season 1 was Canseco and Bohanon, but I may be mistaken about Bohanon. Second season playoffs in the NL were Mets v. Giants, with the Giants winning in 7. I don't remember the AL...wait, I think the O's were in it, but don't quote me on that. I think it was the Royals beating the O's. Matter of fact, it was, and the Royals won the series, although i don't remember the number of games. Hope this helps.

As to my moves, thanks for the compliment. Now, if only you would stop matching my production. ;) I beat the division leading Padres 3-1, and you beat the Astros 3-1. I think this is going to come down to seeing who flinches first....WHAT'S THAT!!!!!! Did you flinch? ;)

In season 1 the Alcs was the Royals and Indians, with the royals winning in 7.

Hmm. You and I both flinched, FC. I went 1-3 against the Astros, and you went 0-4 against the Padres. Hey, we both suck, huh? ;)

The MVP in the 2nd season was Rickey Henderson on the O's. I'm not sure about the Cy Young. It might have been Seaman.

BUTT

Guys, what happened? Suddenly, the banter has fallen and it can't get up. Let's liven it up a little. The FA market looks pretty drab this year, after two years of pretty good available players. I'm looking forward to next season, even though I lost two key players. Luckily, I had two who should be ready to take up the slack. We'll see.

my problem is I have pretty decent pitching and I am very deep in the minors in pitching but I don't have hitting and not much either in the minors. So if you want to trade minor league top quality pitchers in exchange for hitters let me know !!
