Subject: Is there anything wrong with this?

I grossly overpaid for one Omar Ramirez, 45 million over 5 years. Since no one would ever accept a trade where I dump this .220 average, 9 million a year bum, I have limited options.
Instead of outright releasing him, and losing about 40 million dollars once he clears waivers, or having him languish on my bench, can I just release him, and claim him off waivers, and release him again, and claim him off waivers, and repeat this process over and over.
It seems to me, I'd be paying 2,500 every 3-4 weeks, rather than 1.5 million, or am I missing something? |

You can release him and then bid on him but I think until he is claimed you still pay his salary

I believe that you still pay for their salary while they are on the waiver wire. Someone asked this question a while ago, so it should be in the message board somewhere. Check your finances to see what your salaries are before and after you waive the player. This basically means that you get no advantage by placing them on the waiver wire unless someone is stupid enough to bid on them.
