Not that much changed during this offseason. Probably the biggest trade was the Dodgers and Padres swapping Goldsmith and Norton. Once again it looks like the NL West will dominate, especially since the White Sox got hit by some retirements and the Rangers lost Harriger. Every NL West team will finish with a winning record, and whoever comes out on top in our division will probably win the championship again. The question is, who will it be? The team that seems to have made the biggest moves is the Giants, who picked up both Negrette and Nen. They now have by far the best bullpen in the league.

Well I am trying to claw my way back. It seems I am way more talented than some of the teams I lose 3 of 4 to or split with. It is so much less frustrating to be a rebuilding franchise. I have made 3 huge moves the last three weeks. I got Roger Clemens, Trace Coquillette and Jim Horner. Still I am falling. I couldn't ask for more talent. My top 7 hitters have AVG ratings of 470 or higher last two at 450. I don't play anyone out of position. I have 6 quality starters and a great pen. I just can't win!!!!!

Our division is just so competitive that all four teams are just like mine and we only get one playoff spot. It is still close though. I went from first to 3 games back in one series so it can swing quickly. Just have to stay close.

I didn't even notice you got Clemens. Norton has been a huge bust for me so far. I finally had to take him out of the rotation.

You extended you lead again. I win 4 of 4 and lose ground. This is starting to get frustrating!!! Great job BPG.

oops I meant to say I won 3 of 4 and lost ground not 4 of 4.

Division games this week. This could be very important in bringing the division back within a game or two or BPG widening his lead.

I need my to sweep the Giants and you to get swept. I will take my chances in a three way race rather than trying to catch you from 3-4 games back. These next few weeks will be big.

The AL is starting to show some talent and competition. I think the AL representitive in the WS will be the Yankees. They have decent hitting. Mostly guys in the low to mid 400's. They have an amazing staff though. Bohanon, Osborne, Juan Ramos and Robert Theodile. Their pen is decent. Gabe Sollecito is the best in there and is pretty good. They also have a lot of guys with to categories over 400 to help out Sollecito. If the pen holds I would be shocked if they aren't in the WS. They will lose a few low scoring games though, there offense is about the league average.

I have to pick the Indians in the AL. The Yankees have great pitching, but I don't think their offense is good enough. Pitching still seems unpredictable under the new sim. Colon and Norton have been regularly getting bombed for me, while guys like Jim Johnson, whose ratings don't compare, have been great. Hitting seems more predictable now - most guys who should be doing well are, and guys who should stink usually do. The Indians have the best offense and their pitching is decent enough. Still, whoever makes it to the WS from the AL will lose to any of the great NL west teams.

I have to agree about the NL West although records are up in the AL. Division games help them a lot though and hurt us as a whole a lot.

I am still three out. Three way tie just below you BPG, with 4 teams in the race this could get exciting.

Despite my winning 3 of 4 against the Indians you guys managed to make up ground. I tried to cement my lead by picking up Thompson but he went to the Yankees instead. (For cash! I can't believe it. I offered 3 good prospects, but the Royals took cash instead. They never even made a counteroffer to me. I can't figure that one out.) Now the Yankees have a really unbelievable rotation. I still don't think they have enough hitting to beat the Indians.

I made an offer for like 5 prospects plus 5 million. I offer two 10 star pitchers with pretty good fastball, an 11 star SP and two 4 star AVG hitters and he rejected it and made no counter offer. The Yankees have great pitching now.

I check it was only one hitter, 4 prospects not 5. Tonight is big, we square off. If you can take 3 of four or sweep it would give you nice cushion, for now at least. The Dodgers seem to have gotten hot though. 5 in a row to pull to to back.

If I can't win this year I think I will go crazy. Three years in a row I dealt prospects for MLB talent and spent $$$ to make a run. The last two years I was held off easily. I lose money and guys to retirement for nothing every year. I am hoping I make it this year. If you look at the last three years winning percentage for me it's amazing I haven't made the playoffs. It's more amazing thought that in such a great division you make the playoffs two years in a row (assuming you win this year. I do like that I started with absolutely nothing a built a contender from scratch. In the begining Petrick was the only guy I had that deserved to be a MLB player and now I have one of the strongest teams. You started out pretty weak also IIRC. Great job and please give some guys the week off tonight. :)

Actually I inherited a decent team. In season 1 I had ARod, Durham, Osborne, and some other guys. But I hardly have any players left that I started with - only Joyner, Fitzgerald and Colon.

Your offer for Thompson was probably better than mine. I guess I should be glad they went for the cash.

I can't believe the draft picks I got picking last. In the third round I got a 4-2-3 shortstop with 470 speed. That's what happens when 5 or 6 teams don't rank players. I'm surprised the Rangers blew off the draft - they are perennial contenders.

We'll see what happens tonight!
