At any point will a player not improve anymore but will improve more in the majors? Right now I have a couple of 450 avg guys who all have four stars but arent quite as good as my major league players what I want to know is; is there a maximum that they can reach in the farm system, but if I move them up will they be higher. I realize that they develop faster in the majors but will they stop in the minors improving at a certain point?

Thanks in advance,

Twarpy

I've never seen that happen. I had a guy in the 430s in AVG, sent him to AAA and he improved all the way to 456, where he stopped. I called him up and he didn't improve any more. Your guys are probably maxed out.

once they stop, they're done.

The only thing calling someone up does is either speed it up or slow it down...

Calling somebody up to the majors(from AAA) does not speed somebody up. That is a lie...a piece of propaganda issued forth by the GSB vets ;-)

Players usually max out after 5-8 years of Pro expierience...some players will improve a point or two after you think they are maxed out, but usually nothing significant. Most players that make it to the Minor League FA pool are there because they have maxed out.

or, most commonly in normal(non-Elite) leagues, managers forget to add players to their 40-man rosters. So you will find the occasional stud(just ask Synocco) in the minor league FA pool...

One of my AAA pitchers stopped improving after 5 years of pro experience and I promoted him to see what would happen and he started improving again. 10 points in 2 categories so far.

Where were his ratings at? I'm sure you know this, but ratings don't improve during the offseason as well...

They do improve in the minors during fa period. And i do agree with you chris that it doesn't matter where your players are in your org., they improve at the same rate no matter what.

I disagree...ratings do not improve during FA period. I'm sure others have seen this...
