These are just some quick scans. There are no other nominees for ROTY because I don't really see any other kids that can challenge the two listed.

In case it isn't clear:
OPS = Slugging + OBS
WHIP = (walks + hits)/IP

Two retirees that can be added are Durham and Febles.

Ray Durham (Yankees) OPS=0.919, AVG=0.355, RBI=42, R=69, HR=11, SB=20
Carlos Febles (Cubs) OPS=0.835, AVG=0.311, RBI=63, R=51, HR=9, SB=10

Also, I'd add Larkin, Aurilia, and Polidor to the list of nominees.

Barry Larkin (Mariners) OPS=0.918, AVG=0.319, RBI=40, R=52, HR=11, SB=10
Rich Aurilia (Braves) OPS=0.893, AVG=0.329, RBI=61, R=48, HR=11, SB=12
Will Polidor (Cubs) OPS=0.877, AVG=0.333, RBI=56, R=59, HR=12, SB=8

For Cy Young, Rubio is a candidate I'd say.

Miguel Rubio (Yankees) 11-3 ERA=3.03 WHIP=1.25 IP=104 K=74

I think the Cubs sweeped the voting with Carmody and Cancel(ROY+MVP)
AL- Hernandez is MVP hands down with Thompson CY and Scott a close second but he wins the ROY IMO.

Braves are best season with a mediocre team.

I agree with Put Me In Coach on all, except I think Carmody wins MVP and Cy Young. He was untouchable. I'll take my own Jose Hernandez for AL MVP, not that it did me any good. Congrats on the championship, Cubs. Now that you've won, maybe you ease up on the "mediocre" Braves. I think it's great when a team comes out of nowhere to challenge the monsters. And there was no bigger monster this year than the Cubs. Alright, and the Yankees-but since they're in my division, I can't let them get a big head. They can do that for themselves when they kill me on the field.

As for easing up on the "mediocre" Braves--never! ;) Actually, I don't consider the Braves to be mediocre at all, I thought that they'd finish with a winning percentage of around .550... which is sometimes good enough to win the division. Of course, I also thought that the Cardinals were going to be a .500 ballclub, and I was far off the mark there. The Mets will soon challenge as their young hitters are near maturity... he just needs to find 2 more starters to be a .600 team. Not that starters are in plentiful supply. Right skinnej? ;)

Braves kept us in check all season long, especially when they got ahead of us with 3 weeks to go. Which I admit was very exciting. Thank god our guys performed during key situation and got us our 2nd straight WS title.

Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't at least include a token nomination for my own Rigo Beltran as AL Rookie of the Year. 8-2 with a WHIP of about 1.3, and a respectable ERA under 4.
