Yes , I have the thread started , any predictions on who is going to win it all this year. Can someone take down the Tribe , can the Rangers over come the Tribe , or can the Braves win the series. This should be a fun season , can't wait for it to start.

Eric, GO, you couldn't help me out. I split with both of you as not to hurt either of you too much and not giving either an advantage and you go out and lose 3 of 4 to the Astros. Both of you. Thanks.. just playin. It would have been nice if you each could have taken one more from him. Oh well what to do. Would have won one more from you GO if Wille Roberts didn't blow up for 8 runs in one inning. We really need mid inning pitching changes.

Did I sweep the Red Sox? How the hell did that happen. Well, if I swept them, and lost 3 of 4 to the White Sox, and then the Chisox should be able to beat the everliving pants off of the Bosox. As Yogi said, I have two words to describe this: "you never know."

Naturally, back down to earth. Glauber gives up a bunch in the first after completely shutting down the Red Sox. I would like to thank the M's for giving me such a race this year...

My boys are looking forward to after Week 9 when we start a 5 week homestand. Revenge will be in order, as we'll get those pesky Rangers Week 14 at home.

Bye, bye, Murray. Just as I get my closer back, down goes one of my long relief guys. 14 weeks, gone for the season.

I split with Eric's Cards last week. Unfortunately The Great One swept the Mets and is now 2 games up on me. Now I'm heading to San Diego to start a three week road trip. Hopefully I can catch up to GO before our week 11 standoff, our last meeting of the season.

Well Bravo lasted all of two weeks with me as he's shipped out west to the Dodgers for Adam Flohr. Felix Martinez cheers loudly as this means he's back to playing full time now. Thanks, Stick.

Wow, a split with 'Dip and the two games I lost were by a run apiece. I guess he is beatable. Just not in the playoffs. So let's do the math... 2-2 vs. the Indians and 1-3 vs. the White Sox. That makes the White Sox better than the Indians, right?

Glauber's finally got a weakness... His 208 health landed him on the DL for a week. It could have been worse but it will also probably happen several more times before he retires. Fortunately, I haven't been able to pawn Junior Herndon off on anyone: he gets the start in Glauber's place. Sean McClellan takes the spot in the pen, finally getting an opportunity to live up to his vast potential.

Oh yeah... it looks like Sliced Bread didn't draft. So I'm guessing that's not good for the web page...

What a pathetic draft. Aside from my top 3 picks I got a pile of ass and none of them are that special either. I always complained when people didn't rate their drafts and now I wish I hadn't.

On a side note my pitching is starting to perform the way I thought they would....poorly. I'm in danger of falling under .500 if I have another bad series. Flohr better pitch better than his 12 hit 6 run effort vs. the Giants or I'm doomed.

Wow, I was only able to muster one game out of 4 from good old BD. I played him tough, but his pitching is too damn good. The only game I won I shut him out. Well, he can't afford to hold that pitching staff together too much longer, I hope. Well, if he can retirement has to set in sometime, I hope. Losing 3 of 4 now has me 2 back in the West, hopefully I can pull it together for the stretch run.

Mark Hutchings with a spectacular eigth against The Great One. I'm up 5-0 goining into the eight and I am losing the series 2-1 so this game is clutch. Brad Guy has come out after seven brilliant shut out innings. That bum HUTCHINGS comes in and gives up 7 runs and I lose!! Now me and TGO are tied. Maybe something will go my way next time.

Actually I guess I should be happy to be in first but I'm frustrated by that one inning.

Hey, I said I was happy to be there and have exceeded expectations I had for this season. It's just a little frustrating when a better than average reliever gets bombed in the eigth to cost you the series against your division rival who you are in a very tight race with.

Time to talk some smack again...

Obviously the M's do not have the firepower to keep up with a far superior Rangers team (although I probably just jinxed them). The Rangers are literally salivating at the thought of taking out the Tribe. This is the year to do it as Osbourne, Wright, Mantei, Canseco, and Vaughn are all pondering retirement.

Let's do it!

Well, I had an easier time with the Braves taking 3 of 4 so I hope to see the Braves in the NLCS. No offense Dev, but you played me tougher. Although I really don't enjoy the thought of going up against the Braves rotation. Well, I got to make it to the NLCS first, big 4 game series with the Astros this week. I am games up. I have to at least take one. Winning 3 would clinch and if I split then I only have to win one game against the Giants to clinch. I thought I might not make it this far but things have fallen into place fairly quickly as of late. Well good luck to all over the last two weeks, except for BD who doesn't need it anyway.

I still can't believe my team is playing so poorly. I was almost certain I had a shot at winning the division and my team has stopped hitting, the pitchers I picked up are pitching terribly even though I was sure they'd be strong (Since when does Adam Flohr suck? I have him in 2 other leagues and he's great. Just about everything that could go wrong HAS gone wrong this season since about week 7 or so when I was in first place. Oh well, maybe next year.
Good luck to those in contention during the stretch run.

Eric, I sure enjoy seeing Flohr stink up the joint, but not half as much as you probably enjoy Glauber's pitching of late. Fret not, Rangers fans, Glauber is still young and improving... if only we could convince Wright and Osbourne they don't want to retire...

It's good to see Dev doing so well. In fact, he'd have to be the favorite since he's got the Mets and Great One's got the Cards. But I've learned never to count out the Braves.

As exciting as the NL has been this year, the AL is another sleepwalk, with the Tribe and Rangers meeting for the 10 thousandth time in the postseason. Both teams are less powerful than some previous incarnations, but the series should still be exciting. Vegas puts the the Indians way ahead, but you figure the team has GOT to lose sometime.

I am really looking forward to retirements this year. Not for my team of course, but there are a lot of players who are of age for the first time and it will be interesting to see how the league changes, and how teams adapt.

Well, the M's/Rangers season-ending battle has lost all it's luster, but the postseason looms.

Let's get it on!

Gee BH, if I didn't know better I'd think you were bitter about not getting Bravo and me shipping him to the Dodgers instead for Flohr.

I offered you a trade for him and you said no so I shipped him elsewhere. No need to be bitter about it. I gave you first dibs. Besides, should you really be ripping on the only guy here who still considers you a viable trade option?
Most other owners avoid your trades like the plague..

Haha, I like people with spunk!

I wouldn't call it bitter. I'd go with regretful. That said, I stand by my decision not to accept that offer. Somebody tell Bravo and Flohr to enjoy their upcoming vacations.

You guys haven't seen anything. My fantasy hockey team is heads and shoulders above its competition, and those guys work with me five days a week. Rest assured, they hear about it.

Also, if owners don't want to trade with me, that's ok. I'll still have my self-respect when I lose my winning team...

Hey Lance... You're the young gun right now (and a great closer - don't get me wrong), but you have yet to prove to be the consistent game-ender that Mickey Mantei has been for many years. Fortunately, you'll probably face the Rangers in the Series so both closers will be on prominent display.

Josie better watch out, I hear fans in Atlanta are fired up. ;)

Great One and I had a great race. Eric played spoiler and took three of four from me though and I lost the race by a game. The good news is that's 24 games closer than I was last year and I have more money now!

Good luck in the playoffs.

Hey, happy to be in the playoffs again. I will be trying to take down the Braves not because I want to get the the WS but only because I hate all Atlanta fans with their stupid chop. (I am an avid Met fan) So I have to beat the Braves this time.
A couple notes on trades: Hey Go looks like the Jim Johnson trade didn't work out for either of us. Willis Roberts sucked and Jim Johnson with his 8ERA wasn't much better.
Hey BH I bet you didn't think Clark's AVG rating would balloon to over 490 did ya... and he's only 25 or 26.
Well, good luck to all in teh playoffs.

Hmm. I after hearing that Josie is a Mets fan, I have decided to change allegiances in O2. I am now hoping to meet The Great One in the World Series.

I think the Doug Clark trade has proved to be one of the more interesting (and fair) moves in recent history. Sure, I knew I was giving up a lot, but I also got Rey Ordonez and Chad Hermanson, who helped me dominate the division for so long. Besides, I have a veritable plethora of outfielders so I'm not missing Clark as much as you'd think. It's kind of funny seeing Clark, Chris Cosbey, and Ryan Thompson all playing prominent roles on other teams.

For the record, Jim Johnson did fine for me. I don't know what you're talking about...

Looks like you won't get that wish BH as I did my best to let GO get to the WS and failed only losing 3 of 4. However, you only managed 1 of 4. I knew I would have problems with the Braves starting rotation although I hit in the last 2 games, too bad those were the 2 games I gave up a lot of runs.

The Astros are in another league with me and have logged in in the last couple of days. I've noticed that the owner does this (doesn't log in during postseason) if they aren't in the playoffs. The Mets are just run terribly.....the guy goes stretches like this without logging in quite a bit....probably why the team has gotten worse every season.

Yeah, hopefully the Mets will have new ownership soon. For the good of the game.

Excellent series, Bean Dip. You were certainly the better of the two teams, but at least this time we were both weakened compared to previous years.

All good things must come to an end.

If anyone deserved to end my streak it was certainly The Great One. Congratulations.

Once again, retirements were troubling as I lost Bohanan, Thompson, and Javy Lopez. Jeez, it's almost as if the commish has been out to break up the Tribe the last few years with Hollandsworth retiring at 33 and Bohanan, Thompson, Lopez, and ARod all retiring at 34. Oh well, there are some things we can do little about.

Good luck to all next season.

Thanks BD.....congrats on a great run and good luck in the coming season.

Retirement hit me hard as well. Clark and Griffey were expected, but Hernandez and Girardi both retirement has left me reeling. I don't have the depth that Bean Dip has, so I consider it a longshot for me to get back to the WS. It looks like Eric, Dev and Josie are the current frontrunners in the NL.

Good luck this season all.

Shut yer mouth, oh most greatest one. We all know that your pitching will carry you pretty darn far.

I can't believe I'm breathing a sigh of relief after losing the greatest closer in the history of GSB, my reigning MVP, and my reigning best pitcher. I still have Canseco, who can put up monster numbers, and I'm running off the rails with my Crazy Train.

Best of luck to all in season 7...

I'm in that ever enjoyable process of moving, and thus, my Internet Access is spotty at best. I'll probably get some sort of temporary computer stand set up sometime tonight while I'm putting my desk together. Well I need a little better structure in my lineup. Right now my major league hitters consist of a Catcher, 3 Second basemen and 6 OFs.

I'm looking for some more hitting. I am willing to give up Scott MacRae, the number 2 pitching prospect in the league, for some solid hitting. A few more key hitters and I may be able to take the division. It won't be easy though. Great One still has very good hitting and pitching. I still have some holes in my lineup.

Well, here goes another march to a division title... how exciting.

For the first time in years, a main question is in the starting rotation. Osbourne, Harris, and Glauber are a solid trio, but 4th starting duties fall solidly in the lap of rookie Melido Dotel. He's got a blazing fastball and great control, and with the run support he'll get, he should win a few games. Lord knows the bullpen won't be blowing too many, with Jon Adkins, Robert Luce, Ray King, Todd Williams, and others manning the 'pen.

Chris Sexton, now at third base, gives the lineup a new look. Nick Johnson, Sexton, Jose Canseco, new DH Ryan Robertson, Alex Andreopolous, and Brian L Hunter in the first six spots have nary a weakness. The remaining three spots, however, will determine how far the Rangers go this season.
