JKaye was just added to the list of those that have jumped ship in R2. In addition Pschyo Joe, Kyle and 30something haven't checked the thread since season 2. The NL West continues to prosper though. I doubt much will change although it looks like the Post-Milo dodger GM's ruined the dodgers pretty good. A lot of their top guys have severely depleted stats from lack of PT. It won't be long until they become a basement team and lose their owner. The league as a whole is definitely in a decline. It's sad because my team is in really great shape. I am probably one of the richer teams if not the richest in the league and my minors are stocked with 4 Star AVG guys and good pitchers. So many of the other teams are very poorly managed. They don't trade at all either so your restricted to half the league for trading. I really hate to give up this team on the top but I'm not sure how much longer it is really worth the time.

Right now our division is showing it's power once more. Giants and Padres are 4-0, Astros are 3-1 and the Dodgers, who are on autopilot at best are 2-2.

What would you want for Kolb or one of you other relievers?

I think you're right that the Dodgers are on the decline. But most of their regulars are still pretty young, so I think they can still contend for a few more seasons. They did ruin Sexton and let Goldsmith decline a bit. But he's been more active lately - I just made a big trade with him.

It does take some of the enjoyment out of the league when people keep leaving. Still, there are some teams that should be very competitive for a while. The Yankees and White Sox have good farm systems in the AL, and our division should be competitive for a long time. It's annoying to be unable to trade, but fortunately for me, I don't need to make many trades any more! Hopefully we'll get some better managers soon. Maybe we should make a plea on the GSB board for experienced managers. Anyway, I hope you stick it out for a while.

I'll get back to you about Kolb. I would probably want a good young prospect in return.

Still very close. 3 of us tied, going into a HUGE week. I play you and Giants play the Dodgers. Could bring the division even closer if there are a lot of splits but also is a good oppurtunity to gain ground on each other.

Those were some wild games tonight. I should not have swept you the way my team pitched.

I'm having second thoughts about trading any of my pitchers. My rotation is a shambles. Shiell, Guy and Tapani have been awful. I am regretting trading for Tapani.

Hey guys! I'm back! I got over my case or RotoGuru neglection.

I'm doing really well this season and have managed to keep a 2 game lead over the Yankees. Is the owner of the Padres a gurupie?

The owner of the Padres is BPG. It's nice to have someone else around. Our thread was suffering with only two people. It looks like the Giants owner left depleting our league even more. Either that or he changed his name, I didn't notice it saying "No Owner" anytime.

My team is really hurting this year. Barely above .500 right now. I did add Caraciolli and John Hernandez though. They should help, my relievers were really bad and I never really had a big power guy.

Also, if anyones interested in Sean Casey make and offer. I'd give him up for prospects or a younger MLB guy.

Hey guys. Sorry for jumping ship without saying anything. I am now in 3 other leagues and with the recent formation of the All-Gurupie league, I decided I didn't have enough time for this league. It was fun for 5 seasons. Good luck to everyone in future R2 seasons.

JKaye- Good luck with your other teams. Right now the league isn't it very good shape. Many teams have owners that change every few weeks and many owners that make the teams worse than if nobody touched the team. As always the NL West continues to dominate but Kyle's Indians are having a very good season.

Hey guys. I hope all is well in R2. I did indeed give up my ownership of the Giants. Somewhere on the GSB message board I saw there was an opening in X2.

What caught my attention was the mention that all owners in X2 were very active. I really missed that aspect of the game in R2. Though I will say that the three of us in the NL West were very active. The level of competition in our division showed that.

Upon taking over the X2 Yankees (another YankeesRule debacle!!), I saw they were a team that was going take a lot of seasons to rebuild. I tried to gain ownership of the Giants and manage both teams, but by that time they had been claimed by someone else. Many, many thanks to BPG for trying to help me get the Giants back.

Good luck Dev and BPG with future seasons. If another team (especially the Dodgers) becomes available in R2 let me know. I'm going to miss the competition of the NL West.

By the way, Dev did the current Giant owner trade Caraccioli to you? What did you give up for him?

Hey 30something, if you want to come back the Cubs and Braves are available! You know how bad they are, but it would probably only take a couple of seasons to get one of those teams competitive in the awful NL East.

R2 has gotten a little less competitive due to the rotating ownership. But still, more than half the league is very competitive. The AL West is up for grabs every year and the White Sox are loaded with prospects. AL East has 2 great teams in the Indians and Yankees. NL West has 4 great teams. No team has won more than 2 championships so far and all but 5 or so teams have made the playoffs at least once.

Yeah I got Caraccioli. I gave up 10 million an 11 star SP, 10 Star SP and a hitter.

If you want to come back it would help a lot. Half the managers are ruining their teams. A few of the top players now have very depleted stats.

I'm going to need the good luck to take down BPG! I can't even come close. Over the last three years my Winning Percentage is probably second best and at least in the top 4 in the league and I've never made the playoffs. Maybe soon.

I wish the Mets owner would quit. I don't understand why they continue to keep the team. They never do anything! They don't set drafts or make trades. Do they think the team will magically get better? I don't see what would be fun about the game.

Even some competitive teams, like the Rangers and Mariners, have not been setting drafts. I like getting good prospects with the last pick in the draft, but it's not good for the league.

The draft is getting bad. I got a ten star hitter with the 27 pick. In a usual draft you'd be lucky to get a ten star hitter at 5 or 6. Most of the team that do rank their drafts rank them horribly. It's less than a day later than the draft and already 17 guys have been signed that were picked before the ten star hitter I got! He is 4-3-3 too, not 2-4-4 or anything. It's outrageous that that many teams had him ranked so low.

Duncan is going to be very good in a few years. His fastball is excellent. You just have to hope those three star attributes turn out good.

Yeah, I had Duncan pretty high on my list. He was in my top 5. I've been drafting lots of high FB pitchers. I've got around 30 pitchers in the minors with 400+ FB. Given how bad the quality of the draft was, I was surprised to get as many good prospects as I did.

I'm getting pretty frustrated with the unwillingness to trade, rank drafts and flat-out manage that show GM's are showing. It also doesn't help that I can't seem to keep pace with BPG. My team is doing pretty bad this year. We already are almost to our loss total from last season and there is no sign of a turnaround. As much as I love having an almost all-star team, an unreal farm system and 150 million dollars the game isn't being played the right way in this league. The point is to trade and have to plan out your moves. With things the way they are there is little penalty for a mistake. With that said you have still done an amazing job BPG. The fact that you keep winning in such an amazing division is a real tribute to you GSB skills. Great job, way to represent the NL West. It looks like the Dodgers are giving you a run for your money though.

Thanks. The Dodgers are making a big comeback this year. It is partly due to a bad trade I made with them. I gave up Ricardo Jordan for Tapani and some prospects. The prospects will be good, but Jordan is having a breakout year.

The really annoying thing is some managers don't even respond to trade offers. I made two offers to the Royals this year and he just let them expire without accepting or rejecting them. The new Orioles owner seems interested in running his team. I have made a couple of deals with him.

Hi guys, just thought I'd check in. I have three teams, and this is the one I spend the least time on. I don't know how I managed to make it to the World Series last year. I might squeak in this year but I'm really looking forward to the next few years as my excellent farm system should start coming of age. It's a shame about the low level of activity in the league. All three leagues (R2,S2,Z2) I'm in are fairly inactive. As a follow up to Dev's post about the draft, I got a 4-3-3 hitter in the third round a couple seasons ago. Anyway, I'll try to check in here now and then from now on.

This may be my last season with this team. I'm losing interest with the low level of activity in this league and I've gotten into two more active gurupie leagues. Whoever takes over should be in good shape. I have almost 40 4 star average hitters in my minors. None are the kind that are 28 with a 100 AVG rating either. I also have one of the better farm systems pitching wise. I have 140 million dollars so someone would have to try REALLY hard to have a money situation. Also a big chunk of my payroll goes to Clemens who will be gone soon. Other than that I have most guys signed very cheap. Not to mention that my MLB teams is one of the better ones in R2. Tied for second best record over the last four seasons.

I will be slightly disappointed I could never make it to the playoffs. BPG and Milo did great jobs managing their squads. Great job BPG. You did a great job also Pschyo Joe but since we were in different leagues and I never made the playoffs we never really had a rivalry.

I'll decide during the postseason. Who knows I may not be able to leave after I see the FA Pool.

Pschyo Joe- if you're interested there is an opening in W2. It is pretty active and there are a bunch of gurupies in the league including BPG.

Hey Dev, I hope you don't leave. You should be challenging me for the division soon. If you do decide to quit, how about leaving the team to a gurupie (if one can be found)?

I may hang around. There are a few good FA's that may help me out. Hopefully I can find another gurupie if I do leave.

I just barely managed to hang on to the title. After winning 10 straight I lost 7 of 8 to the Astros and Giants and finished just 1 game ahead of the Dodgers and 2 ahead of the Giants. That was a great race.

Congrats BPG. Great job once again. I'll try and find an interested gurupie. I may stay around if I can't. I'll see how things go.

Welcome Bill! Good luck with the Mets. Glad to see them get a new owner, since their last owner has been destroying them for 3-4 seasons. Fortunately for you, the NL East is extremely weak.

Easy - They don't set their drafts, don't trade unsignable free agents, and let players' ratings drop by sitting them on the bench. Pedro Martinez used to be one of the best pitchers in the league, but the old owner never played him and now he stinks.
