NL MVP: Jose Hernandez, 2B, Astros - .357 avg, 20 HR, 61 RBI, 11 2B, and .643 slg. This guy won the Triple Crown in the National League while leading the Stros to the best record in the league. Hands down MVP in the NL.

AL MVP: Jose Valentin, SS, Red Sox - .335 avg, 21 HR, 77 RBI, 10 2B, and a .625 slg. While Boston failed to make the playoffs in the toughest division in the majors, Valentin took the major league HR and RBI titles.

NL Cy Young: Scott Downs, SP, Mets - 9-4, 2.74 era, and 99K's. Leading his squad to the division title in the east and taking the era crown. A VERY close second is the 10-4 Brian Bohanon.

AL Cy Young: Justin Thompson, SP, Royals - 11-3, 2.87 era, and 101 K's. The ace of the AL West winning Royals, Justin won the strikeout and wins title.

Rolaids Relief Man: Blake Mayo and his 25 saves won this category by 6 in the majors. No real dominating closers this season as far as K's to IP's that I could see.

Major League Manager of the Year: TINCUP, Mariners - He managed a winning record in the tough AL with no real standout hitters. Amaral hit for his avg (486 rating and .352avg) and Clemens had a nice season on the mound, TINCUP pieced together the rest of his pitching staff to pull his record above .500.

ROY: I'll do this later. This will take some more research.

NL MVP - Jose Hernandez, Astros, led NL in OPS, HR, and RBI

AL MVP - Jose Valentin, Red Sox, led AL in OPS, HR, and RBI

NL CY - Scott Downs

AL CY - Justin Thompson

Relief - Richard Negrette

Manager - Dev, Orioles, won the AL East crown with a decent team, beating the odds on favorite Yankees by 12 games while posting 49 wins.

I think each manager should nominate a ROY candidate. It will make it much easier to pick a winner that way. My nominee is Luis Arroyo, RP. Solid, but not spectacular, he pitched 99 innings in middle relief to stabilize a shaky bullpen.

NL MVP - Jose Hernandez, Astros

AL MVP - Jose Valentin, Red Sox

NL CY - Scott Downs, Mets

AL CY - Justin Thompson. Royals

Relief - Maximo Regalado, M's

Manager - TINCUP, I'm not sure how I managed a winning record but I did... plus I've got some young studs locked in already...

ROY - Maximo Regalado, 21 ip/1.71 ERA/18 saves, even hurt for 2 or 3 weeks in middle of season and still put up very good numbers, esp for Rookie. (and has a nice 6yr/6.06mil contract)

NL MVP Jose Hernandez
AL MVP Jose Valentin
NL CY Scott Downs
AL CY Justin Thompson
Relief Blake Mayo ( 25 saves is too many)
Almost voted for Negrette, but 25 saves is
quite a season. That would be like 65-70
saves in a 162 game season.
ROY I dunno I didn't have any valuable
rookies so maybe if other people could tell me
who their good rookies were I could vote.

NL MVP Jose Henandez

AL MVP Jose Valentin

NL Cy Young Scott Downs

AL CY Young John Thompson

Relief man- Mayo

ROY Nominee- Sammy Rodriguez-.280 Average, 50 RBI's and 41 runs

Manager of the Year- I thought I did very good this season. Much better than expected. I didn't take a close look at all the other team though so I can't fairly vote for me as Manager of the Year (I might be a little biased also).

Thanks for the nomination Stick.

Are we voting later on this or are these our votes?

I'd just like to point out that Ken Griffey I think should be the winner of the NL MVP I know no one has seen him because he was injured for 5 weeks but he still played 11 of 16 games and had an avg of .372 which is absolutely amazing. Not trying to gain any votes here but he is not in the League Leaders which I know is where everyone is looking

Other than Ken here are my nominations

AL MVP - Jose Valentin, Red Sox

NL CY - Scott Downs, Mets

AL CY - Justin Thompson, Royals

Relief - Richard Negrette, Royals

Manager of the Year - Dev and his surprising Orioles...hopefully his luck will run out:)

Oh yeah, forgot manager of the year

JKaye - He made the moves to make his team compete for the division crown, before the season his team wasn't the best but by the end of the season his team was one of the best.

I'll start a new thread to do formal voting in it tomorrow morning. It looks like the only awards we will have to vote on are ROY, Manager of the year, and our relief award. I know we have more than 9 owners in the league so WHERE IS EVERYBODY?? :)

Get your nominations in asap.

Dev - TINCUP had no problem nominating himself for manager of the year! ;) I guess it's not really cool to vote for yourself as Manager of the year though..

Don't have to be humble when you get results. I thought I was voting also.

BTW, swami submitted Tin Cup's name in post #1 AND Taxman voted/renominated him in post # 9...

I don't have a problem with voting for yourself. Although this thread was only nominations so wither way it doesn't matter. If TINCUP really thinks he is worthy of being Manager of the Year and has looked into it (or hasn't) thats fine, it is his vote. I have nothing wrong with that if that's what he wants to do.

First of all, why did I trade Dan Ramirez away???

He's suppose to hit .220 and only hit 10 homers!!!

Anyhow, some new nominations...

NL Cy Young: Just to finish dead last in the voting, I will nominate the one bright spot on my team, Miguel Rubio, finishing .01 points behind Scott Downs for the ERA title (2.75-2.74) and a nice 8-2 record, on a losing team.

AL Cy Young: Jason Shiell- a nice 2.51 ERA, playing for the Yankees. I'll even throw in Roger Clemens' name in here so we can have three candidates.

NL ROY: Tim Flaherty had a nice year for me, 9 HR, 31 RBI and a .270 average.

AL MVP: Pat Hallmark. First in average, decent in the other two categories. Worth a nomination...

I agree with whatever's been posted here in the other categories, and will not bother nominating anyone there...

Speaking of awards, I will also propose having an all-star team from each league. Nominate players from your own team, and indicate their position. From there, we can assemble the Year 1 AGL All-star team if there is enough contributions to it...

I like the All Star idea. Any way we could convince the commish at grandslam to simulate a game??

I guess we need a roster of 24 players. 14 position players and 10 pitchers. Start it up Dev!

I spent the season standing in the dug-out, watching those big sluggers and fireballers thrash the Braves' *ss over and over.
You think I actually memorized their names?!
