On a team of tremendous hitters, someone had to stand head and shoulders above the rest. Greg Vaughn (.304, 5, 48) proved to be that player in Season 6. Leading the team in RBI's and walks, Vaughn provided stability in the middle of the order, driving in the leadoff hitters and getting on base for the cleanup hitters. 2. Jose Canseco (.297, 7, 29, 14 steals) 3. Alex Andreopolous (.290, 11, 47) Best Pitcher 1. Jaret Wright (12-3, 3.27, 86 K), one of the all-time greats in O2, continued his dominance, garnering a 12-3 record and raising his career record to a staggering 79-28. Though every single pitcher on the Rangers' roster throws faster gas than Wright, none can match his devastating curve, which has baffled O2 hitters for years. Wright also led the Rangers in strikeouts as they became the only team in baseball to place four pitchers in the top ten in the league in that category. Incidentally, four ex-Rangers (Norton, Shiell, Williams, Dreifort) also placed in the top ten in their respective leagues. 2. Jeff Harris (8-2, 3.56, 72 K) 3. I feel like making a good post. My Season 6 Awards: MVP DaRond Stovall: Playing out of position all year at 3B held his own making only 2 errors while going out and swiping 17 bases and hitting at a 358 clip on the year. 30 ribbies out of the two slot very impressive. Wonderful Monds: What a great name. Not amazing numbers but hit solid with a 333 AVG. 28 ribbies from the leadoff spot an impressive stat. Shane Monahan: Nothing spectacular. 54 ribbies 8 homers a solid 292 AVG. 13 SBs. CY Young John Seaman: Gotta love this guy. Solid all year 9-2 with a sub 3 ERA. Just solid all year. Pitching against the aces of other teams and only losing twice is impressive in my opinion. Dave Wainhouse: This guy is a rookie and still improving. He ate up innings (112). 10-4 record. I think thats' some quality numbers. Richard Negrette: Came over mid year and shored up the bullpen to make me a solid contender. ROY: Dave Wainhouse: You got the numbers.
