| 189 | worm ID: 5211411312 Tue, Dec 19, 12:40 | J, you ever played in a major league game? my guess is no. so you cant say that major league players dont tank plays for personal reasons. they do it in the california penal league and they do it in the Major Leagues. sure everyone is here for fun but when someone in my league starts doing like the rangers are doing i speak out about it and against it. timing maybe it is time to sell your team here in P2 and only concentrate on your V2 team. cause by the sounds of it you are not doing anyone any good here in this league. about taking this too serious...i was in an automobile accident a few years ago and i was seriously hurt when that car collided with my lawnmower i was riding. it left me paralyzed from from the waist down and this type of simulation is all i have now. i cant enjoy a day at the park with my kids or play catch in the back yard with my kids. i am bedridden and when i am home alone this is what i do. so to me this is life. now i dont go overboard and stay on all day figuring out my next move but i am in to this pretty deep. | |||||

Good thing I had that 8 game lead in the East because I knew these last 8 games were gonna be tough. Lost a series for the first time in a while last night. Tonight doesn't get any easier against one of the toughest rotations in P2. worm - I truly did believe your story and you really shouldn't make that stuff up. All i want to say now is this, how big of a deal is having the 1st pick vs. the 5th pick vs the 16th pick? one propspect at best. there are not many consensous number one picks in our draft, similarly to the MLB. This is not like the NBA when you know a guy will be good. throwing games just for draft picks doesn't achieve any thing, and what is the fun in playing, and as soon as you lose, throwing all of your games for a draft pick that won't mean that much? are there no bragging rights in this game? During the last series of the year, I took three of four from Brock's Pads. did it have any effect on him going to the playoffs? NO but i can talk sh!t about it though! I wish the game would be changed that people wouldn't sign with such poor ownership. in real MLB, no one would sign with a team that is going to sign junior varsity bench warmers to play 1/3 of their season. no one would resign with them either. True this game is not perfect, but things like this that we all know are messed up, but we could make a gentleman's agreement not to do would make this game more realistic. Who would be interested in such an agreement? From what I have read: Worm, Whitey, Brock, and myself would be included. any one else interested? | |||||

No matter what you are given at the start, you still have to build a team if you want to be a continual winner. I don't think anyone's team is similar at all to what they began with. I would be frustrated if I were in a penant race and my competition was playing him, but that's part of the game. Let him do what he wants to do. Yikes, my team is limping into the postseason this year. I have lost 6 of my last 8 games (all o the road) and my offense went to sleep against the Braves. Here's to hoping I have an offensive explosion against the hated Padres... ;) I do get the home field advantage due to taking 5 out of 8 from the Pads, right? I think it may be a key considering how there is now a home field advantage in GSB. I think it's impossible to say who's going to meet in the World Series this year... | |||||

It used to be that teams had the same winning % home and away. Now a team's home winning % is usually much better than their away winning %. Of course, there are exceptions. Wow....intense conversation that I was hoping just faded away. This is just a game and I try not to take it too seriously. Speaking of which, I just love it when I drop a player at the end of the year who won't resign with me and another team spends money to pick him up and he becomes a free agent as soon as WS is over. Just my way of messing around and getting a little giggle. Padres and Royals are both up 3-1 and it should be a great match-up if they meet. Can't count the Cards out until the fat lady is singing. Worm, if you are a fat lady I apologize. That was a joke. =) Timing, trade me a pitcher or two in Y2. I lost two games to the Sox in the 9th and 10th that were blown by my "bullpen" My team pitching sucks so bad there. Wammie, you don't own the Mets in Y2 do you? If you play anyone with an AVG rating of less than 300, you have no integrity. Which is ok - there are a lot of people out there with no integrity. They aren't very well liked and they definitely aren't very well respected, but you will not garner much of those qualities either. Only don't pretend to have integrity. That is simply deluding yourself, and probably means that you should seek couseling and be isolated for a good amount of time. If you're going to play GSB and not try to win, then please join a league by yourself. | |||||

Thanks for the info Timing. Somebody has won the series already and free agency should be in effect. Wammie, I never took sides one way or the other. I happen to agree that it isn't good for the league and the game isn't intended to be played that way. I felt like Timing was taking enough abuse without me jumping on the pile. As I have already stated, he can run his team how he wants. I will say that it is a violation of the game just like the trade that Whitey and I tried to make last year. Completely within the rules of GSB but just "wrong" to do. We admitted it was wrong and made a fair trade for the good of the league. | |||||
