0 Subject: R2 Season 7

Well after a few seasons away from R2, due to time constraints, I'm helping to manager the Astros with the help of Dev.

We spent a lot of money and effort getting a pitching staff for our team and we feel that we can now contend with any team:)

Last night was a perfect example of our pitching as our starters had a combined era of 2.1. Of course newly acquired Robb Nen blew two saves as he is still working out the kinks.

Good luck to everyone this year, and if anyone would like to do a preview of how this year's teams will finish it would be great. I would, but being my first season in a while I don't quite have a feel for every team.

I think this year will be more interesting than the last couple of years. The Braves spent a lot of money on free agents, and now at least field a respectable team. I only managed a split with them last night. I can't remember the last time I lost a game to them. The Red Sox, Orioles and Mets also have been more active than they have been in several seasons. (Red Sox bid 52 million for Hudson.) It should be good for the league.

NL West looks to be very close again. I still think my Padres should be the team to beat but picking up Nen and Ramos should help Twarpy and Dev. The Dodgers lost their best player in Febles. I lost Dodson and Stovall, but it shouldn't hurt me as I had Bob Abreu (487 AVG, 491 HR) waiting. He should be an MVP candidate soon.

due to the massive amounts of money spent on minor league free agents and northern leaguers i was only able to acquire one player(the prices paid are ALOT higher than my other divisions). I now have 5 people in my minor league system. i think i picked up a gem in quezada(i think i signed him from FA) but this team is a ways away from contending. good luck to the rest of you guys.

The NL West definitely has all the talent this year (again). I think my team is better than their 31-21 record, but I can't complain. My pitching has been awesome this year even though I have two rookies on my starting staff. It looks like Grahe should be ROY hands down. The FA signings of Hargreaves and Bunkley have paid off. This is by far my best team so far, but I'm gonna get with retirement in the offseason. I have a couple guys at AAA but I'll be looking to add an infielder or two. Good luck to everybody the rest of the way.

I've been losing too many games to teams I shouldn't lose to. The Mets broke my 19-game winning streak, then I split with the Cards, and now the Astros have won 13 straight! I lost Petrick to a season-ending injury. I was hoping to wrap things up before my series with the Astros in the last week, but now that series will decide the division.

I may get hit by retirements too. I have about 5 guys who could retire. The Astros are even more vulnerable though.
