Hey guys and welcome to season 8. A brief summery: After 3 weeks the Mets are #1 with a 11-1 record while my Rangers lead the AL with a 10-2. In other news the Red Sox are not the Dominating team they were last season. I made a trade with me for some prospects so He will probally be back in the running in a few seasons. The web site is going nicely with a full 5 teams having a team report (lets not over do it guys) I do think our league is competitive but we should post more often. Which is something that I like about the web site - Daily note that summerizes whats going on. Anyway When I get a chance maybe I will analyze all the teams and give my version of the Power Ranking. Maybe I will also try and analyze the Best minor league rosters. If I can brag a bit.....after 3 weeks (12 games) my team has a ERA of 2.13 !!!! No one on my team has an ERA over 4.00 !! My only weakness is that I do not have to many SP pitchers in the Minors. But I have tons of hitters just waiting to come up. Which should decrease my Payroll slowly as I bring them up one at a time. So if anyone wants to trade Hitting prospects for SP prospects PLEASE let me know.

im feeling a winning series coming up as i face the rangers. i had thought that my team would not be in the race for the division title but we are now only one game back. i think my pitching is finally set and i hope that i can produce the runs to beat the rangers.

Well here we go. Lets see what happened to the Rankings after todays wild action

1.Mets(4)
2.Rangers(6)
3.Padres(13)
4.Yankees(15)
5.Redsox(16)
6.Cubs(17)
7.Giants(19)
8.Astros(25)
8.Orioles(25)
10.Whitesox(26)
11.Indians(28)
12.Royals(36)
13.Cardinals(38)
14.Mariners(40)
15.Braves(45)
15.Dodgers(45)

Biggest jump goes to the Red Sox & Orioles, each moving up 2 spots. Biggest drop is an amazing 7 spots by the Indians. Besides getting swept they must have really just layed down and given up to drop that much !! The Padres remain in 3rd spot but they had a big drop point wise. I kept my #2 spot despite not winning a series in about 4 weeks (at least) only because I had such a huge lead in the ERA category and none of the division leaders seem to want to gain in the Standings category. Like I said before it should be a wild final 3 weeks.

Sanfran - Do you regret making that trade with me before the season ?? You are in first place now and I'm sure Bohanon would be a nice addition to your team.

True, but if i can make the playoff's ill be happy, cause i want the money, but i had to move bohanon while i could because i think he might retire this season.

Oh, I was talking trash, just on the GSB M2 board. I predicted I would beat out the Giants the remainder of the season to take the NLW crown. Adjustments to my lineup and getting Russell Jacobs back tomorrow will boost me to the record I need. Plus I play the cardinals tonight which could help me out greatly. Come on Sanfran, lets get ready to rumble. ;)

Has anyone else noticed that if you make changes to your lineup it makes things worse ?? Year in Year out I make some adjustments to my lineup in middle of the year that should be better yet year in year out they get worse after I make the changed. Of course it could be that I am just a horrible manager :-)

No Avi, I have actually noticed that to. which I believe is where my slump started. I put Feramisco in the lead off spot when his BA was about 370 and ever since we have fallen. So I think it is some type of bug in the sim.

My slump too started this season about the time I dropped some players who wern't doing good and brought up players from AAA who all had their Avg. # over 450

And the bats come alive. My run is beginning! 43 Runs in 4 games. Production, production, production. It's great. If I could have just scored two more runs in game 1 I would have the NLW back in my court. Guess we will have to go to next weeks series, Jacobs is back and I play the struggling Dodgers. NLW is MINE!!!!

OK, I'm confused. I'm fairly certain Petrick wasn't injured when I was looking last night. Now,it tells me that he is out for 2 weeks. No problem. But, one of those weeks was today..am I missing something here? The sim put him on the DL at the beginning of the series this week, and called up Andrews, a 3B, to replace him in the lineup. I didn't think that the injury thing worked that way. I have never seen a player get injured, and play in no games in a series. I am soooo confused. However, this means that Petrick will be back for the Post-Season. ;)

LTA

Oh, as far as not seeing me on here trash-talking, there is a two-fold reason for that.
1)I have found that if I trash-talk, usually things will go wrong.
2)Flyin' Chip is never here. :)

Well Bill you beat me !! My offense came alive for 20 runs in game 4 but only scored 1 one in each of the first 3 !!! I still have a 4 game lead and I figure if I go into the final series against the White Sox with a 3 game lead then I should win the division. 2 weeks to go......

Just out of curiosity, how many extra base hits did you guys have this week? I had 20 in the four games. I had tons of doubles and triples, and a 4 or 5 HR's.

I didn't have much. I only scored 3 runs total in the first 3 games. Even in my 20-0 drubbing on the Yankees in game 4 I only had 2 HR & 1 double !! My team is more of a singles team, not much power. I hope to improve on that with a few minor leaguers that have some power and should be ready sometime next season.

well. my series with the yankees can only be described as odd. i mean i let up 3 runs the first 3 games then 20 the 4th!!!! but my prediction held true and i am very pleased with being tied for first.

2 weeks to go !!! do you know where your kids are ?? :-)

1.Mets(4)
2.Rangers(6)
3.Padres(13)
4.Yankees(18)
4.Redsox(18)
4.Giants(18)
7.Astros(21)
8.Orioles(22)
9.Cubs(24)
10.Whitesox(26)
11.Indians(29)
12.Royals(34)
13.Cardinals(37)
14.Mariners(38)
15.Dodgers(45)
16.Braves(46)

Not too much movement this week. The Biggest jump goes to the Giants moving up 3 spots to a tie for #4. Whats amazing about that is the first Power rankings I did they were #14 !!! Biggest drop is also 3 spots by the Cubs. I continue to stink up the joint losing 3 out of 4 to the Yankees. The good news is I scored 20 runs in game 4 so maybe my team has found some offense. I am really excited with the amount of communication this season. It would be really nice though if we could get a few more of the owners involved. Any ideas ??

Just thought I'd put in a post for the heck of it. Sounds like you guys have a great league going? Say, any teams go to consecutive world series? I know the Dodgers in league Z2 went to a few, but then the manager got bored of the team or something and quit. I think that team had Hernandez too. Anyways I recently looked into the league again. Not sure who won the last Series. Sounds like your league is so much fun. So many posts. You guys really know how to communicate. I used to play grandslam, but stopped a few months ago. Maybe I should get into it again... Who knows... Unless I find myself a good horse racing sim first. In closing, just wanted to say one thing. Not sure if "Sanfran" is a football fan or not, but if so, it's very sad to see Jerry about to play his last game in a 49ers uniform. Had his last home game, and Owens looked like the second coming of Rice. I know I'll miss seeing Rice in Sanfran.

You know, i heard rumors about this great team in league Z2, and i also heard rumors about the Dogers team, a team that got so good, the manager got board. I wonder if this is the great Niketown...... If it is i do hope he makes a comeback out of retirement, cause it would be nice to see him play again, and yes i did cry on sunday as my hero played his last game, and there will nbever be another Jerry Rice and he will always be rembered as the greatest reciever of all time, just like Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time. Ok back to grandslam, lets go Yankess, that last week match up will be fun.. and look post 100 WHOOOOOOOO

My team in completely pathetic !!! I just lost another series, this time to the Royals 3 games to one. I hold a 2 game lead. The Whitesox would have to win the series 3 games to 1 to tie or sweep me to win the division. I don't have much trust in my team.

the streak continues. I now have a 1 game lead on SanFran going into the final week. The Giants and I swap teams and go at it. That worries me a little as the Giants will face the Dodgers which really are not that great of a team. Hopefully, my team will hold up against the astros and maintain this 1 game lead. Good luck all in the last week.

One week to go....this is what it all comes down to. I imagine we will have a couple of division tiebreaker games after the season. So here are the next to last regular season rankings

1.Mets(3)
2.Rangers(7)
3.Padres(9)
4.Giants(19)
5.Redsox(21)
5.Orioles(21)
5.Cubs(21)
8.Yankees(23)
8.Astros(23)
8.Whitesox(23)
11.Indians(30)
12.Royals(34)
13.Cardinals(38)
14.Mariners(39)
15.Dodgers(45)
15.Braves(45)

Biggest move up goes to the Cubs who move up 4 spots. Biggest drop goes to the Yankees who drop 4. Meanwhile the Mets continue their torrid pace and I think they have now won 12 in a row !! The Padres gained a game on the Giants. The Whitesox gained 2 games on the Rangers who now only have a 2 game lead and they play each other in the final week !! In the AL the Yankees & Red Sox are tied and they play each other in the final week. The Indians are 2 games back but unless they sweep their match against the Orioles and the Yankee - Red Sox series ends in a split they will be out. So only the Mets have locked up a playoff spot. The Way they have been playing they definitly deserve it. Good luck to everyone in the Final week.

Well, I guess it all comes down to this last week! I have to be honest, I thought I was buried several days ago when the Rangers had a 7 game lead on me, but his pitching has come back down to Earth and my hitters are finally starting to come around (despite their last-place standing in BA in the AL). Do we have enough in us to take 3 of 4 from the Rangers to send this thing into overtime? This is clearly the most exciting finish to a season in League M2 history - let's all keep up the good work and keep this thing competitive!!!

Well what a season it has been. Well here is the Final Power Rankings of the Regular season. I do not think I will do any for the postseason but is anyone interested in helping out during the offseason to do some Pre-Season Rankings ???

1.Mets(3)
2.Rangers(7)
3.Padres(14)
4.Giants(17)
5.Cubs(18)
6.Redsox(19)
7.Orioles(22)
8.Astros(23)
9.Yankees(24)
9.Whitesox(24)
11.Indians(30)
12.Royals(32)
13.Mariners(38)
14.Cardinals(39)
15.Dodgers(45)
15.Braves(45)

Belive it or not no one has moved up in the Rankings But the biggers drop goes to the Orioles who dropped 2 spots. O.k. so the Postseason looks like this: In the NL the Giants jumped over the Padres in the final week to take their division and they will face the unwanted task of facing the Mets. In the AL the Red Sox & Yankees split to keep tied in first and will face each other tomorrow in a tiebreaker. The winner of that game will face off the Rangers who manged to hold of a late season surge by the White Sox by splitting the last series with them. Anyone want to give some odds for each series ?? Good luck to all who made the postseason.

I like those odds...but, I have been beaten by the Giants in the NLCS before. That year, I was a powerhouse team, and the Giants were a .500 team. That didn't matter one damn bit. So, good luck to all, but I'm not making ANY predictions.

I like the odds you gave me as well but I think you give my team to much credit. I have a 15-17 Road record and 23-9 Home record. I will at home for the first round but If I may the WS then against the Mets I will be on the Road. Against the Giants I don't know since we had the same record.

Well no one has posted in a couple of days. So it looks like it will be the team that started the season the hottest (Rangers) against the team that finished the season the hottest (Giants). Both teams have a 3 games to 1 lead over the Yankees & Mets respectivly. I am so excited about the possibilty of making it to my first WS !!

Just so you guys know I haven't fallen off the GS planet I'm the Royals manager.

My ego is really wrapped up with my basketball teams this year and it is taking a beating so far. So that is where the greater part of my efforts are going.

I have just enuff quality left over from the glory days of my team's 2 WS to keep me from doing the right thing and selling off my team for top prospects. I hate to let go of those players who started the league because we will never see their like again.

Yes, I did win it in Season 6. Sorry about being so absent lately, but lack of electricity due to a MASSIVE ice storm tends to do things like disrupt my ability to get online. :)

Things are looking better now, but damn, they are forecasting snow this weekend and potentially more ice next week. This is going to be one hell of a winter in the South.
