Hmm... this really does suck. On the other hand $3 a month isn't exactly robbery though there are some features that need to be improved if this game will be charging. $18 for 6 seasons isn't bad. BUT, I'd like to keep my team in V2 before I kept P2. Maybe some of you guys can swing over to V2 and join that league with your P2 team? Actually I'm not sure how it'll work with 30 team leagues, I definitly don't want to start from scratch!!! This sucks, but it could turn out to be a good thing. I'd love to get V2, O2, P3, and P2 owners in one league but I'd rather not have to use my P2 team. I don't want to spend money on this game and have to be in rebuilding mode with these Rangers. I'm definitely in though. One thing I'm against though is joining a league with people who have used GRT a lot in the past. Again, paying to play against teams that had such an overwhelming advantage isn't exactly fair. | |||||

Timer - One last comment and then I'm through with Duke/UNLV thing. The ACC was a very weak conference in 90-91. They had only 2 ranked teams. That's probably the fewest that I can remember coming from there. Most years it's a good conference but not that year. Sure they had 6 teams in the tournament but that's just because it's the ACC. It's given every year that they'll have 5 or 6 teams in the tourney. How many ranked teams did Duke beat? I'm definitely in the new league, whether we start over or keep our teams. | |||||

I'm in, though I'm leaning towards favoring that every team start from scratch so that there are no huge discrepancies between teams. LMAO Pimpster!!!! Brock just made a great point. The last 8 seasons have been fun as hell and a learning experience. We all have a much better understanding of the game. I am all for keeping the league together with the same teams we have here or with newly drafted teams. If we do a merger with some of us bringing teams from other leagues I am sure that we can make a couple trades to insure that the members who want to also come, can bring as talented teams as the rest of us have in other leagues. I am not tallking about completely unfair trades or the word I cannot spell (collusion?), but I sure would hate to see Rangel left behind. ;) Remembering a trade with the Cubs and Dodgers about 6 seasons ago where the commish thought it looked fair...lol | |||||

I would stay in P2 if it stays around, but I think it would be good to start over. The commish told me that new leagues are going to have drafts for your starting roster, which I think would be a good idea. Then we wouldn't have these lopsided teams. I think it makes the best sense, but we should keep most of this group together. I have a pretty good time talking trash in here. (I don't really like the merger system, unless it is just a couple of teams.) | |||||

I don't think we have much choice about a merger. Every new league will be at least 30 teams so we will get a lot more teams in here. I was lookin at V2 cause they seem like an active league but it doesn't seem they want to have a fair merger. They kinda want to keep all of their good teams and whoever joins them takes what's left over. I doubt they'd be for a new league from scratch. Has anyone seen their website? I'm the Dodgers in V2, its incredible how active that league is. You probably should be scared! I think the overall hope of V2 is to keep everything as is, about 12 of the 16 of us are staying. We, well, I shouldn't say we, I don't really care, they, want to bring an entire league (maybe another 12 teams) into V2 and then hand select the rest of the owners. They also think that V2 shouldn't have to change any players' names, but again, who cares. To me, it sounds like the V2ers have a big head and are expecting too much, but we'll see. I'm not in favor of starting from scratch. Do you know how long it will take to do a draft!!!!! | |||||

Carmody vs. Corey Talk about saving their best for last, my team played by far their best series of the season and I needed every last one of those games. If I were you, I would probably want to play the Cards. The Braves have a much better pitching staff (at least by looking at the stats) and our offenses are about the same. Our pitching staffs should be about equal if you look at the ratings, but it hasn't worked out that way this season. His team ERA is a run less than mine!!! Hopefully, it's a good game tonight either way.. | |||||

Nah, I don't think V2 would be very good to merge with. They want to keep all their teams and then merge with an empty league and then assign owners to all of the empty league teams. They basically want to keep their league and just add a bunch of patsy teams to beat up on for a while. Their website is pretty cool though. Maybe we can merge with one of the other Gurupie leagues? P3 or O2? Or both of them if there aren't enough owners. | |||||

I would definitely NOT join them if they want to merge their teams but not let others do it. I would be surprised if the commish sets up any of the new leagues with a complete draft. It would take WAY too long to do. You would have to draft your ML team and then all of your minor leagues. I doubt if he takes the time to set it up like this. Joining other Gurupie leagues sounds like a good idea too. | |||||

Any one talking about the merger, I was wondering what you guys think about the merger. My concern is based on teams like the Red Sox and the M's. If these owners have no other teams in GSB or if we can't make a league while pulling from a bunch of different leagues, is it right to make Stl and worm pay money to build up teams that suck but its not their fault? what do you guys think. worm and stl to you guys, would you pay to build up your M's and Soxor would you rather have a new team like everyone else, or would you rather take a new team, but be put in a league with the rest of our teams? | |||||

I am fine with taking my Astros with me, but when there is a monumental change, a level playing field would be a good place to start. But like I said, I would go with my team though. I have spent most of my time in P2 trying to build a team, and now my team is OK. able to get to the playoffs at least. I am game either way we go with the merger, but I agree with Wammie. I don't think it's fair for some teams to be strong and others weak. My P2 Orioles will be rebuilding for the future and so maybe I will have to trade away some old stars like Rangel and Montgomery to the Astro's for some young talent. I am not talking about collusion but I am talking about us all bringing in talented teams. I have Bluma, Reed, Scott and Downs starting for the team I will be bringing along with Tomko, King, Chen, Dixon and Flohr in my bullpen. I would rather draft teams or have the commish just assign teams based on the old A and B leagues. | |||||

The Royals in here already have Downs, Scott, Tomko, and Flohr... they used to have Mark Clark too. Plus Bluma and Reed could retire at any time. I really see no problem with everyone bringing a team except for people like worm who may not have a decentteam. Perhaps they could take over a team in here that someone is dropping.
