Subject: P2(Elite League) - Season 9 Posted by: Brock - [106282323] Tue, Jan 30, 21:59 Since most everyone knows this is the true "Elite League", I thought I would reaffirm it. I'm going to put those pussies from V2 into the past and move on. Hopefuly we have a couple of more seasons before it becomes a pay site so I can show my dominance once again. Wammie, your post #118 is exactly what I was trying to say to Timing. It seems to me that he feels it is okay for him to bring in a strong team from a weak league but it isn't okay for someone who figured out GRT on their own to bring that team from a Gurupie league. I say they are both at an advantage. I also say, bring them on. Timing, lets talk about that Y2 league. First off, I would have left it if you weren't there. When I saw your name in league I decided to stay and rebuild team. I have exactly 2 hitters and one RP on my MLB team that was there when I got there. Almost my entire AAA team is made up of players I got from FA minor league bidding before my first season started. There are 4 players there who were on team when I got there. My AA and A team have exactly one player with over 2 years experience. Meaning I have built them myself. That means that from when I took over this team there are 8 players left and only two are worth a darn, neither studs. Nobody said you should run a team how the league does. My exact words from above are, "If you wanted to compete....." Obviously you didn't want to compete but had a seven year building plan. True enough, my Mariners team doesn't have much of a farm system but none of them are going to get me to a championship anyways. I think you can buld a farm system and compete at the same time. You say that every team in your division is stronger than mine but that is opinion. The fact is I beat the Giants 3-1 at the Giants. You went 2-2 at the Giants. I went 7-1 against the NL. By now you should have figured out that the AL is always stronger, especially if I am in the AL....lol. The real deal is that three teams in your division have been there from the start. Hoarding draft picks, raping FA and the NL. Heck, the Giants owners is a GRT user. Why else do you think he sells 2-3 year pros? Why would someone like me, who has been in a competitive league and vied against serious competition in obtaining almost every player on his team, want teams like those into this merger? Because I don't give a dam. Bring your best team. You might even win for a season or two. TB | |||||

Brock - I was scouting your team for our upcoming sereis and I discovered that your team has a bunch of "retriement-eligible" guys. If even half of those 7 guys retire next season, you are gonna have to do some serious re-loading. Wammie - You make it seem like MaCrory is sooooo much better than Berry. Actually, we can't even compare since Berry has only played 2 games in his career. Their AVG ratings are about the same, Macroroy has a pretty significant edge in HR but Berry has the edge in GAP and SPD and he is 26 years old.. | |||||

Just a quick question, was any one going to get into a new league as well as the merge league? What ever teams come in come in. every one who wants to bring in an old team made their bed, now they have to sleep in it. no one wanted to start over because the work they put into their team, until they realize that some one else has a far superior team, then they don't want that team in here. this is why at the start i suggested starting over. I am brining a new team in that will do some major ass kicking. | |||||

Hey TB, what is with all this Y2 stuff? You want my team or somethin? You can have it if you wan it. Geeez... I'm not even bringin my best team which is my B3 Dodgers but maybe I'll have to if you allow GRT users into this league. And let's talk about GRT. You say it's the same as playing in a weak league. You know what the difference is? I had no control over what owners did in my league to compete while a GRT owner had total control over whether to use that or not. GRT is like a banned substance in the Olympics. Oh I was gifted by God to be a great athlete (unlike other people in my school) so that makes it okay for one of those kids to use drugs (GRT)to enhance their speed/strength (they figured out a way to get away with it so what's the big deal anyway?). I'll train and train and train my god given talent and maybe one day I'll win the gold but this other kid figured out a way to get away with using this drug called GRT that makes him much faster than he should be. But that's totally fair because I like to compete and if I train hard enough maybe one day I'll beat that GRT steroid monster. | |||||

I am still in favor of just getting in a new draft league. it would be an even playing field, no threat of any teams who have used GRT. we all would start with pretty much equal teams. there would be some work to start, but the commish said there would be close to a week to set your draft and such. that is tons of time if you ask me. an hour a day would be way more than I would need. But I will continue with the merger league. I think the new league would be better though. far less fighting and bitching. Also I still say that chicks mouth was covered in black from the guts of that worm thing, not from the sandy brown dirt at the scene | |||||

I would rather join a draft league made up of P2 teams and other Gurupies then this current merger we have planned. It all seemed so simple at first. Besides, it gives everyone a fresh start and I am down with that. I think it would be cool if the draft was done in 5-8 rounds a day with all Major league and Minor league players. It won't be, but that would be fun adjusting to players taken. | |||||

I still don't see the problem with stacked teams. Eventually those guys will get old and retire, plus in a more competitive league that kinda team is less likely goin to be able to sustain that type of team. Just like the Royals in our league. They've lost players every year and they're coming back to the pack. A GRT team on the other hand has stocked minor leaguers who that manager knows will replace all of his lost major leaguers. That's the big trouble as far as I'm concerned. | |||||
