Here's a new thread to start the season. I only lost one player to retirement (SP Williams), so the Red Sox are looking to keep using the bats to win a few games. Hopefully the pitching will come into its own as well. |

Congrats Eric. Now let's hope you can overtake The Supposedly-Great One so he learns his lesson.

Blue Hen,
Chances are pretty slim that you are going to split with the Sox while I sweep the Royals to force a one game play-off, but this season hasn't been the cake-walk that you have enjoyed for many seasons.
With 4 games left to play I have the 3rd best record in the league. I am not sure if that qualifies for "elite" or what that even means, but I think it proves that you can make a bad team good quickly.
We will get another season in before it goes to a pay site so we always have next season to spoil your goal.
=)

Congrats on your division title, Eric. It looks like the same old teams from the AL - Texas and Cleveland. It's the Dodgers vs. the Cardinals in the NL, with St Louis looking to revenge a sweep to LA during the season. Good luck to all.

Congrats Eric and Stick. I'm somewhat rooting for Eric in the NLCS so I can meet someone different in the Series.
Also, thanks for a great season TB. Thanks to the Pretty Good One as well for allowing me to take 3 of 4 and for not making the trade that would have given him the title. Oh well.

I had a fun season. I hope retirements treat me well and I can compete again next season.
Good luck to all in the play-offs.

Considering Stick took 7 of 8 from me during the regular season I must say I'm going into this series with a very cautiously optimistic attitude.
That being said, good luck to all and I hope I kick your @$$ Stick :)

What a beating. At least I took one of four from him. Maybe I can get a miracle today and win three in a row. Stranger things have happened.

Congrats on making it to the Series Eric. Not many teams in GSB could beat Bean Dips Indians in a seven game series. With that being said, congrats on winning the WS BD.
Retirements treated me well.
I will win the AL West this year.

Your replies are almost amusing. I notice that you didn't talk your usual smack this season. Maybe it's because O2 has become a dead league or maybe it's because you were just a little concerned about our pennant race. Either way, my team will get even better this offseason and we will have another fun pennant race this year.

Neither is Blue Hen, Eric or myself but other than BM and Josie saying goodbye I have yet to see another person from O2 post in over a month. Several didn't rate their draft and several more just hadn't signed on in so long they lost their teams.
I envisioned many seasons of laughs and good times playing against you Blue Hen. Especially after I saw that I was placed in the same division. Again, I don't know if it's because the league is dead/dying or if I somehow pissed in your corn flakes.
I will stick(no pun intended) with this team until it converts to a pay site and run every year like I would if I was keeping the team. Blue Hen might be in denial, but I will win the AL West this year.

Could be Eric. I was rereading post #36 and just wondering how many World Series Blue Hen has won. My guess is the same amount as my Mariners team.
=)
Has anyone other than the Indians, Braves and Dodgers won it?

Shut up TB, you irritate me. The NINE TIME AL West Champions (who are one of only TWO teams in O2 to have beaten Bean Dip in a four game series, are a lock to win the division again in season 10. *Yawn*.

You do sound bitter Blue Hen. I don't know if you are serious or not. If you are I will stop posting and even abandoned team.
Pretty sad to say, but the only reason I have kept this team is to play against you. Sure hope some friendly competition and smack talking (done purely in jest and good natured fun) hasn't made you bitter towards me.
If so, I am sorry.

Nah, it's kind of like The Rock. He can't say "It doesn't matter what you think!" unless someone says "I think..."
So keep talking. But realize that you have no chance. Incidentally, I have swept Bean Dip in a four game series before, just not in a postseason series. That took me five games.
I am sick of having 480 guys in the minors. Even though I would like to stockpile them, the time has come. I am calling up three of them. Huff, 484, will play third base. Hoiles, 482, will take over at Designated Hitter, and Myers, 481, will get a spot in the outfield. Cody Ransom, 475, will stay in the minors for now.
I have a bevy of players to trade. I sent out a clearance sale note, but a whole bunch of other players, including starting pitchers, can certainly be had.

Anytime, Blue Hen. Thanks for making references to a member of a "sport" that is altogether fake, vulgar and offensive to me. It's crap like professional wrestling that has turned our society into a bunch of mindless savages.

Who made the world series this year?
Funny how you mention Nomar...how many guys have you tried to sell on people in your emails?
One of your classic examples:
"Don't miss this chance to grab Scott Rolen cheap. He's nothing on my team but could be a star on YOURS!"
His .183 avg this year and his 430 avg impresses me oh so much, especially with the 3+ million a year he'll be demanding next season...

Nah, I'm no hypocryte. I just enjoy gay bashing and irritating people who take everything a bit too seriously.
I also sell crystal meth and child pornography to teenage nazi hookers for fun during the "offseason"
PS: Just because the Chicago Cubs donated 20,000 tickets the the national gay and lesbian society doesn't mean we can't make fun of them.

Good trade between you two. I am jealous for sure and would love to have either side of that trade. TGO improves his MLB team and BH gets some youth.
Of course, if you made a trade like that in P2 and your name was TB everyone would bitch about it. I think it was a great move for both teams. It looks like I will be playing the Braves in the Series after all.
