0 Subject: P2 Season 9, Chapter 3: OMG They killed Worm!!!!!

Posted by: TBRaiders

Used to be, we had about 150-250 posts a season. Now we seem to get that every 6-7 weeks.

NL East
Mets- "The Infamous" J
Braves- Purple "I don't need to rate my Draft" Pimp
Cardinals- Whitey "Screw you guys, I'm going home"
Cubs- Worm "Da beat Da beat Da beat Da beat, the only thing worse is the smell of my feet"

NL Worst
Padres- "Muhammad" Brock "Ali" A legend in his own mind.
Astro's- "Brocks Bitch aka Crack Whore" Wammie
Dodgers- Phillip Mendoza aka Sanchez in disguise
Giants- AL (yep just plan a$$ Al)

AL East
Orioles- "Keeping it real" TB
Yankees- Chiz "I wish I could beat the O's"
Indians- Boomer "I was leading after 2 weeks"
Red Sox- Outlaw aka STL Pyschos

AL West
Rangers- Timing "Hello, hello is there anybody out there? Hey where did the rest of my damn division go? Is it my breath?"
Royals- Nobody
White Sox- Nobody
Mariners- Nobody

That isn't the exact order of where everyones record is right now, but definitely starts off this new thread with some flavor.

Timing - I don't understand why you are trying to defend the trade as being equal. We already agreed that both owners knew what they were doing when the trade went down. The only thing J, Brock and I are saying is that he gave up way too much for Norton only because he doesn't give a crap what happens to his team down the road. Therein lies the problem, agreed?

Lowery and Dunwoody look like they may be good AVG SPD guys like so many very good players in our league.

On my team alone, I have had excellent players like Higginson and Mike Kelly who have ratings similar to what those guys will have when they top off. Unless you see some reason why they wouldn't continue to increase (i.e. GRT).

Bell is no slouch, especially if he get that average up to 460-470.

Cobb should top off well over 400 in breaking and change, making him just as good as Norton except 10 years younger.

You got Bass, Lowery, Dunwoody and Bell for nothing..just like you said

I didn't say the trade was equal. I'm simply showing it's not quite as lopsided as you're making it out to be. Of course he doesn't give a crap down the road, why should he? Like I said before though, other owners have benefitted from trading with the Dodgers for the very same reason that I have. There's no way for anyone to know the logic behind trades. Would it be any different if the Dodgers were making these trades 4 months ago and didn't tell anyone he was planning on leaving after his players retired? And that is a total realistic situation that actually happens in this game.

Even J is mad that I cut in line before he could rake the Dodgers! lol Hell I don't even know if I'm keepin this team so I may not even benefit from this stuff. Everyone has jumped in line to screw the Dodgers in trades. Are we goin to reverse every trade that's been made?

Timing - If you're not even sure about keeping this team, why bother and give up your current MLers for prospects. Why not let the rest of the league trade with the Dodgers when we know that we are keeping our teams. If you're so interested in helping out the rest of the league..

I don't want to continue with the talk about this trade, I just think it is not an equal trade. Unequal trades occur all the time in sports, just not to the degree of this one.

I understand that other owners took advantage of the Dodgers, we are not ganging up on you. it's just that your trade was the latest one to go down.

J - what I meant about P2 quitting is that the league will be no more. We're all merging into 1 big league.

I love pissing Whitey off. My day is now complete.

Maybe if yall are that upset about these trades, we should agree to a trade freeze with the Dodgers. Personally I don't care but if yall want to prohibit further trades with the Dodgers then it's fine with me.

Brock - So when do we go head-to-head again, huh?.. I want to know when I get the chance to make you lose your bet with Wammie!!! I figure if you guysa are tied when we play and I bring out the broom, that should be enough for you to finish in 3rd place...

So because I'm not sure I should let my team slack? I've said this about 5 times now. If I decide to dump my Rangers I will be more than happy to distribute my best players and prospects throughout the league. If I decide to KEEP my Rangers then hey I want them to be in the best position possible to be a great team.

In fact if I decide to dump the team yall just make a list of you want from my team and I'll send them off one by one until they're gone. I think whoever is NOT keeping their P2 team should do the same to combat those ridiculously stacked teams that we're joining up with.

OT - I can't believe how friggin quick these threads fill up. I guess just a lot of useless babble is the reason. I do think think it is cool how much interaction we do have in our league between myself, Timing, Brock, Wammie, worm, J and PP. Although J has been missing in action for the most part lately (plotting with V2 against the P2ers- just kidding!!)

Actually, the more I think about it if it's okay with everyone I want to trade off any players yall want from my team in return that you send me back my top pitchers for my D2 team. Basically you get any players you want from my team as long as you trade me back Burnett, Clemens, and Lee. Good deal?

that "Dream on" was directed at Brock...

I don't know how I feel about dispersing players from doomed teams onto the teams that are going into the merger. If everyone else is cool with it and we can find a fair way to do it, then I guess ok.

Who else is bringing their P2 team into the merger besides me? Brock, PP?

Let Brock exist in his fantasy world. it is easier to let him think he is in controll than to try to explain any thing to him.

Timing, I think what you are proposing should not be allowed. no offense, but if you think GRT is wrong (which i agree with) how can what you are proposing be fair? It wouldn't be.

I took a vote for President, none of you replied, so I got the only vote. After a long and thorough re-count, I was declared Preident of P2.

Timing - I think you should just bring your P2 team to the new league. The reason I'm keeping mine is that it has quite a few prospects that I drafted and I just can't leave this team and not know if any of my picks will be any good. I don't think the people in the new league would allow us to trade the pitchers back to you. They would bitch and write the commish.

Timing, if I'm understanding this right - you want to trade Clemens to someone, then, when we merge, you want Clemens back for your merging team?

"Dream on..." (If that's what you meant)

=)

Whitey - I'm using my P2 Mets in this merger.

Also, I never tried to get in on this Dodgers thing. I offered him a reasonable trade - at least as reasonable as i'd make with any of you guys - and I haven't heard anything from him.

Worm too, I proposed a trade aboot the same time and nothing...

and then after the merger, we trade you back Burnett for ???

Who would the ??? be

J - I did do a deal with the Dodgers that helped both our teams. I sent him Higginson for 2 good prospects

I would send you Kendall and Burnett, you would send me some veteran with a crap contract or a burned out prospect, whatever. After the merger I would trade you back a burned out 3rd year prospect for Burnett and you would keep Kendall.

In that case, why wouldn't i offer some one my entire mlb rooster to one of you guys, and in return when i bring in my new team, you just give me the top player back. if people are going to do this, then no one should bitch at all about any one who used the GRT.

For instance, I give TB my whole team, any body he wants to keep, but when i bring my other team in, but when the merger comes, I have him trade me Clontz for nothing. I don't think that will go over very well.

By George I think Wammie's got it! The difference though is I'm trading my prospects throughout the league to every team that is joining the merger, not just one team. In addition, these are prospects who could turn out well or not so well, not established stars.

Honestly though if you want to trade your best players throughout the league and do the same thing to get Clontz back, I got no problem with it. It will only help our teams deal with the stacked decks we're goin to join.

Also, what are you talkin about GRT? This is a win win deal, nobody gets screwed.

I guess if we wanted to conspire to make the p2 teams some of the stronger teams in the new merger league we could do something like this. it would be a mix and match of tallent from teams that would help you be a contendar. It is not a bad idea, but I think that if people were to do it, all of the p2 people should benefit from it. I guess this could also make the trades in the other league look fair too. you could keep a list of who all each team should be getting back and just make sure that happens with what looks like "fair" trades, when they are really staged. makes me think.

Whitey, you left me out on post #83. I was away from office last two days but I tend to post once in a while.

;)

Timing, even though what you are proposing sounds beneficial to every team it reeks of collusion. I think that most of the teams we are bringing are just as good as other MLB teams or are much deeper in our farm teams.

I couldn't make that kind of deal in clear conscience. Anybody can read our threads. Don't you think you would be totally pissed if you thought another division was doing this? Personally, I think you should bring your P2 team. It is definitely one of the deepest teams in the league, talent at every level, and you have had it for 6 seasons now.

Other than Worm, everyone else should be bringing their P2 team. These are the teams we have been competing against each other for seasons. After this years group of retirements there will be very few original players left in the league, let alone on their original team.

Why don't you just talk about how you are going to win your division Mr. President?

LOL, at least I helped you on your side bet by giving Wammie a thumping. Glad I won too. I didn't want to hear his smack talking if he even managed a split.

What did I tell you Wammie? Give you a first place schedule and you start vying for a top draft pick.

That's what always happens to Wammie when he has a tough schedule. Sure, he can beat up on the pussies but he can never hang with the big boys. He's had 2 winning seasons and the following year he has got his ass kicked big time. The facts don't lie.

Timing, I am just glad that we have played both our series for the year. The Royals are the only team that will hold you back from the series.

If you pass the Royals I will have to get pretty lucky(if I even win my division) to beat you in a seven game series. I know I won the regular season series 5-3 but your team continues to improve weekly.

Five straight weeks on the road with the Yankees, Royals, and Whitesox being three of them. Hopefully I can get three from the Yanks and widen the gap.

OT- Did you see my FA acquisitions in Y2? Maybe there is some logic in keeping the bids low and waiting until sim time to bid. I made some serious steals(Reynoso, Adkins, Reed, Shiell, and even McCarty). I just happened to sign on around 1 am and it hadn't simmed so I raised each bid just a little and signed every player I bid on.

I do need some cash, though. You interested in buying any of my prospects? Dubose? Or any others? They are all for sale. I think I will send a league wide email and offer them.

It's funny that I always have a better record against the NL then I do against your team TB. Last year I was 6-2 against the NL, 1-7 against your team. This year I'm 6-2 against the NL, 3-5 against your team. It's obvious the NL sucks. =)

I can't believe you stole Adkins from me! After like midnight I said screw it and went to bed. I had the high bid then but looks like you topped it. See how i easy it is to get players in Y2? I doubt there were more than 2/3 people bidding. Kinda sad...

I stole him?? I bid on him first so would that technically mean that you "tried" to steal him from me? LOL

BTW, I knew it was you also bidding and the Astro's. We were the only three who had signed on after 11:00 pm. I knew I couldn't compete if the bids got very expensive. That team is fairly cashed strapped. Thank God we don't have an a$$hole owner like the P2 Orioles in there or I wouldn't have gotten any new free agents.

;)

PP-
Carmody has played good for the last 3 seasons. Before that he never played to his ability. With that being said, I would rather Carmody then just about any pitcher in our league.

Damn you signed a bunch of free agents in there. You'll probably win your division or come pretty close. My team doesn't have much cash either, only about $47 million. When I first joined the league I had to release a bunch of people with crap contracts and ever since then I can't get above $50 million. Almost went bankrupt a few times actually.

Let me write that down PP.

You asked me earlier(last thread, I believe) what trade I was talking about between you and me. Remember when you wanted me to take on Glavine and some expensive OFer's contract? I believe you were very close to going bankrupt and know your yearly salary was over 90 million.

I told you I would make the trade if you tossed in Carmody and I would toss back some lesser SP's and 30 million. I was "putting the squeeze" on you. Personally, it would have been an awesome trade for me. I very much could have afforded it and would have had a stud rotation with Glavine, Rangel, Carmody, and Montgomery.

Just think, I could have traded that OFer to the Dodgers this year too.
