0 Subject: P2 Season 9, Chapter 4: Brock Impeached!!!!!

Posted by: TBRaiders

The President is supposed to lead by example. It only took one vote to get you elected and without even a winning record, you are hereby ousted. In a new turn of events, Rock receives 3 mysterious votes and becomes the first Dark Horse President in P2 history. With a current record of 52-68 he hardly qualifies but has received support from 3/4 of the AL West.

NL East
Mets 25-15 J "I was almost President"
Braves 24-16 Purple "I got 33 million" Pimp
Cubs 23-17 Worm "Looking to bust a move"
Cardinals 19-21 Whitey "Okay, I'll stay. Anyone wanna make a trade?"

NL Worst
Dodgers 26-14 Phillip Mendoza " Trying to Win WS the 90's way, $$$$$$"
Astro's 18-22 Wammie "The best 18-22 team in the NL Worst"
Padres 18-22 "Muhammad" Brock "Ali" A legend in his own mind.(it just fits....lol)
Giants 11-29 Alex (spiced up Al a little)

AL East
Orioles 24-16 TB "Famous for Coup De Brock"
Yankees 21-19 Chiz "Gets to show his stuff against O's"
Indians 19-21 Boomer "What Merger??"
Red Sox 18-22 Outlaw aka STL Pyschos aka Not making any trades with anyone because I am bringing my M2 team

AL West
Royals 26-14 Rock from LA " Wonder what team he will keep?"
Rangers 22-18 Timing "I invited my 'friends' to join the AL West with me"
White Sox 19-21 Rock from LA (try saying it 3 times really fast)
Mariners 7-23 Rock from LA (We will know that he really is a "Rock" if he keeps this team)

Brock has a gambling problem ;)

NL West better than the NL East...frankly, the whole NL sucks right now with the exception of the Mets and Dodgers

I got beat by the KRP Giants last night...I brought up some players for the last two series' of the season. You may think that means I am throwing those games, but on the contrary the players I brought up are better than most of the players I already have on my team (Woodward, Walker, Spence).

I want to sweep the Braves tonight and be tied for last (sad how much my goals have changed this season)..

Callier sucks big time. He was a one year wonder a few seasons back, but in his one great year he got hurt right before the playoffs. He is a cancer on what ever team he is playing on.

TB - remember out draft day trade about 5 seasons ago: Yr 4, Wk 10 Mets Trade Geoff Blum to the Orioles for D.T. Cromer.

I'm about to call up Cromer, so it got me thinking...who got the better of that deal...

Cromer: 450 416 428 286
Blum: 456 358 360 382

Pretty even, especially when you look at age (Cromer is about to be 30 - which is why I have to call him up - and Blum is only 23)

J,

I remember that trade. Pretty even players but I like Blums speed and age better. He is also still improving. I drafted Zuniga that same year and it looks like he is going to stop at 418 AVG. Your drafts are always better than mine. It took me at least 6-7 seasons to figure out what kind of players to draft and even then, I still tend to grab the wrong ones.

IIRC, Cromer was a NL signee and not a draft pick. Are his stats still going up?

Well, it's official now...I won't be winning the NL East this season. Who was the last team to win the NL East before me, was it the Cubs??

I am hoping a can make a run again next season (if there is one) like TB said..

I didn't think you had any balls or confidence in your team Wammie. I guess Boston has turned you into an even bigger pussy than you were before.

Callier never had a good year for year. He was decent but never good. After the sim change in season 5, he was never the same. I ripped your ass off big time when I dealt him to you.

speaking of college hoops - FSU beat Maryland last night...woohoo!!!! The game wasn't even televised down here!!!! I saw highlights on Sportscenter, an FSU player ran to the media platform, stood on it, and started taunting the fans.

I'm sitting here thinking, we're 2-9 in the ACC, something like 7-18 overall....sit the F|_|CK down!!!! Actually Steve Robinson grabbed his jersey and pulled him down. That sure helps FSU's reputation ;(

There was a little quip about Robinson in a recent SI...in the the section "By the Numbers"

20 (I think)
# of pounds FSU basketball coach, Steve Robinson has lost this season due to stress.

Oh well, football season starts in a few months ;)

Brock, You probably don't remember, but when we made the trade that game me Callier and Lopez, Callier was far and away my best pitcher. so it was a damn good trade for me at the time. jackson has not been that great for you, and he was the main guy in the trade. Callier's cats would make him a starter on most teams. not a number one, but 3 or 4. but his cats don't tell the real story. when he is not pitching an 8 inning 1 run game, his era is probably in the 6-8 park. For me the past few seasons, he would go 5 innings giving up 4 runs, outings like that are not going to win many games.

I am not increasing the bet again, because I don't want to take all of your money. It would make me feel bad.

Wammie - You are probably smart not to increase the bet.

Astros: @Padres, vs. Dodgers
Padres: vsAstros, @Giants

Schedule advantage goes to the Padres. Even if you guys split tonight, chances are the best you do against the Dodgers is a split.

Grub - Steve Alford isn't interested in it. He turned them down last year because he doesn't want to be involved in a losing program like IU. Didn't Iowa kick Indiana's ass a couple of weeks ago??? Just like they kicked ISU's ass a couple of months ago. I hope Larry Douchetachy comes to IU. They wouldn't have another winning season until he left. The Big 10 being the top conference in all of college sports is about the smartest thing you've ever said though it's common knowledge.

The best record you can manage will be .500, 'cause i am sweeping you tonight Brock.

Eustachy isn't going to Indiana, he signed a 10 or 15 year deal last summer after coach of the year honors. he has said many times that he likes ames and plans on spending the rest of his career there. ISU gave him a shot in a major conference and he is saying thanks. He will be the next Roy Williams of the Big XII

i didnt say that IU was interested in alford. we dont want his skanky ass wife coming to bloomington. there are many many people who would do a better job like dick bennet, rick pitino, mike davis could get the job full time and still satisfy everyone. IU is a young team and will contend in the big ten for a lot more years.

The Little 8 is not a major conference when it comes to basketball. The major conferences in basketball are the Big 10, ACC, and SEC. The second tier are the Big East, Little 8, and Pac 10. Then you have Conference USA and Atlantic 10. Last are all the WAC-like conferences. Please don't disgrace the Big 10, ACC, and SEC with your ignorance.

I'm sure Douchetachy has an out clause in his contract so if he's offered a job at a big school he could take it.

the Big 8 always was a baskeball conference. everyone knows that. with the addition of the the 4 tx schools, there were 4 weaker baseketball schools added, but the Big XII is still a major conference, in what ever sport. Basketball, Football, what ever.

the only thing the bite size 12 has to offer is cornhusker football. that is pretty damn sad. even though i hate iowa i will be rooting for them come ncaa tourny time cause i know they will be one and out in chicago for the big ten tourny. i do see isu going at least to the elite eight i think that estachey has doen wonders with a team that once had a bunch of no bodies.

The Little 8 has only 2 ranked teams and both of those are ranked WAY too high. ISU should be around 23 and Kansas should be around 17. There are absolutely no high quality teams in the Little 8. Surely someone else has somehting to say about this other than Spammie and Grub.

Your team sure is far better than it's record Wammie. With all those "awesome" players you have, you should be 46-14. That's a hell of a pitching staff you have. I'm not sure if any of your starters could player for the Mariners. Face it, you just suck at this game. Maybe you should just quit.

PP - My pitchers showed up for that series. Corey outpitched one of the best pitchers in P2, Carmody. The young guys I brought up, Spence and Walker are getting the job done. Good to see the Cards give the home crowd some excitement in the last home series of the season.

I hate one game play-offs. Loaded my pitching line-up. That means one of them will screw it up.

ROY Awards:
AL: Pete Walker, Orioles
NL: Russell "The Hammer" Branyan, Mets

I was looking at CY and MVP. Depending on Sunday nights tie-breakers I will start a Final Chapter thread for the season and we can do the voting.

Overachievers of the year: Yankees
Underachievers of the year: Cardinals
Repeat disappointing performance: Braves
Who gives a Crap division: NL Worst

Good luck in your tiebreaker Sunday Timing.

Brock you got lucky all season long to have tied me. your manipulation of the sim saved you $20!

I would love to play a 64 game season vs only the rangers. I would probalby have the best record in the history of GSB.

TB, the one game playoff should have no effect on the C.Y.award, since it only depends on the regular season.

Hammie - The 1 game playoff is included in the season stats, at least it should be because that's how it is in real MLB. I think everyone is tired of hearing you spew your garbage. Timing would average 3 wins against you each series you played. He would kick the living sh!t out of you. I think it's finally time for you to contact crack fiends anonymous.

I didn't mean it like that. The winners will dictate the name of the new thread.
Like P2 Season 9, Final Chapter: Rangers win with Right Timing

That is too long but just an example. I suppose we could just call it the Final Chapter. Anyone take the time to see how many posts we have had this season? We will end up with over 700 posts.
643 of them are Brock telling Wammie he's on crack or someone in the NL crying about their team but it still is a lot of posts.

If it wasn't for the sorry Mariners our league is pretty balanced all the way across. Sure, some teams are stronger than other but as we all witnessed this year, any team can win any series.

I don't think Russell Branyan should get a single vote. Anybody with an average below the Mendoza line is not worthy of votes.

ROY is hard to vote for because nobody wants to check out every player to see if they were a rookie or not. If you have a rookie that you think should be considered just post his stats. That would make it much easier.

Brock, you are just pissed off that you didn't win the bet. take a chill pill and have a beer or something. you are obviously too up tight. and you should find some new material, "smoking crack" gets old after 600 posts per season. but if that is the best you got, keep sayin' it!

Branyans average may be low but look at his OBP, SLG, and the dude led the majors with 21 HR. I didn't see any other rookies on the leader board in any other major statistical categories.

CY will probably go to Downs and Carmody. I haven't looked deeply enough for MVP but Brown from the O's will be my candidate from the AL.

Walker, O's ROY candidate, led the league in saves and it would have probably been higher if I didn't try him out at MR where he was horrible.

BTW, we will get another season in. Many leagues just started another one and are in week 2-4.

Wammie - you're starting to sound like Whitey. The facts hurt as they should. You make asinine comments about how you would "have the best record in GSB history" if you played Timing 64 times a year. I'm pretty sure that 16-48 is not the best record in GSB history. That's what your record would be, at best. Keep up the good posts. You're entertainment for all of us.

I can understand not wanted to put Branyan up for ROY honors. But 21 homers & 61 RBI ain't too shabby!

If not, I have 2 other candidates:
Justin Bowles .331 AVG 9HR, 56 RBI, 18 SB
Bob File 11-1, 4.59 ERA, 104 IP

Now, I've gotta figure out why I lost 4 in a row to back into the playoffs, and take care of Sanchez...quickly.

BTW - if anyone hasn't been to Mardi Gras...you've really got to experience it at least once in your life! I may actually go again next weekend (the real Mardi Gras weekend).
