We still have two tie breaker games to play to determine the AL winners but here are the final standings:

NL East
Mets 38-26 J "First Division Title"
Braves 34-30 Purple "Another 2nd Place" Pimp
Cubs 32-32 Worm "Been awhile since this team was .500"
Cardinals 31-33 Whitey "Won't stay in cellar long"

NL Worst
Dodgers 41-23 Phillip Mendoza "Bought his Title"
Astro's 30-34 Wammie "18-14 at home helped him win bet"
Padres 30-34 Brock "Hittin' on Wammies Pipe"
Giants 24-40 Alex (I think he split)

AL East
Orioles 38-26 TB "Didn't seal the deal and has one game showdown"
Yankees 38-26 Chiz "Hoping to make TB eat his words"
Indians 31-33 Boomer "Could have been in 2nd place in NL Worst"
Red Sox 25-39 Outlaw/STLP "Will have to log on for one more season"

AL West
Rangers 39-25 Timing "Hoping to win first Title"
Royals 39-25 "One game showdown with Rangers"
White Sox 27-37 "At least we're better than the Mariners"
Mariners 15-49 "Worst team in P2 history"

Large Gurupie fan base is rooting for a Mets victory in NLCS. Sunday night games will decide who vies for the ALCS. Again, Gurupie fan base is pulling for a Ranger-Oriole match-up.

After Worm helped you out with giving you roster info Brock? I like Worm in here. granted he does make our league weaker, but he is fun. you are very harsh. banishing a guy to f3 would be a horrible punishment

Brock's just pissed that worm labeled him as having one of the worst records in P2 this season (post 167). Granted a 30-34 record in the P2 National League is not exactly terrible, but worm was still rubbing it in because he finished 32-32 (a minor miracle I would say)

I think Whitey figured it out! 30-34 is the p2 national league is pretty bad, i would know. that was my record this season too. in the national league, to be fair, you should be around .500 with everyone, and you should win 7 of 8 from the AL. My team sucked this year, and that is why i didn't kick the AL's ass like I would have liked.

I didn't even read that whole post of Worms until now. I placed 11th in the league but the AL records can be misleading because of the Mariners. Grub's definitely getting the boot now.

Hey you two guys are Iowa fans or somethin? I frequent a Houston Rockets fan site and I found this fan site link to one of your Iowa alumns. www.airbullard.com Pretty funny actually.

Anyways... have yall noticed that prospects are developing much faster than they used to? It used to be that prospects took anywhere from 6 to sometimes 8 seasons to develop. Now it seems they're developing in less than 5 complete seasons. This is great for rebuilding teams because it let's them turn over a draft quicker but it makes it a little harder to judge when prospects are maxed out.

Timing - Matt Bullard is pretty much worthless as you probably know. Wammie is a dumbass Iowa State, aka Tractor Tech/Moo U, fan. Wasn't somebody a Purdue Boilermakers fan on here? If so, they're in for an asswhipping tonight by Iowa.

I noticed that about the prospects now. I had one guy go up like 8 points in AVG in one day. He was at 457 and went up to 465. This was on the last day of the regular season. He's in his 4th year but he hasn't went up a single point during the playoffs. This pisses me off. I thought for sure he was going to end around 480.

Agreed that Matt Bullard sucked. Brock is correct that I am a Iowa State Cyclone fan, but we are the Cyclones, not Tracto, Tech/Moo U.

It shouldn't take a minor leaguer 8 years to develop any way. that would mean if a guy was drafted out of college he wouldn't make the majors until he was 30, or 26 straight out of hs. 4 seasons is a little closer. i think some guys should get drafted and jump really fast their max, with in 2-3 seasons. others could take 8 seasons. it would be damn cool if you could draft a guy and in three years have a starter on your mlb squad. it happens in MLB why not here?

I know that Air Bullard isn't a great player but he's really popular here in Houston.

I agree with you Wammie. It would be awesome and probably more realistic for draft picks to vary more in how many seasons they need to develop. I've said it 5 or 10 times on the GSB board that I'd like to see superstar prospects develop in 2/3 seasons. Also it would be cool if we had an Asian league and a Latin American league to buy players kind of like the northern league.

adding the new leages like the Asian and/or latin league would be cool. especially if they were restocked with tallent all of the time, or if you could dedicate part of your money to just world wide scouting and have players just appear in your minor leagues from this scouting.

That scouting idea is very intersting. Who gave you that idea Wammie? A scenario would be this. You pay for a scout with a set of abilities. He can judge AVG players better than HR players. He would see a player as a 4 star AVG instead of 3 and vice versa. The scout could be rated on a scale of 1-10 in each of the 3 categories for hitting and pitching. I think the stars ratings could be changed. I think there needs to be a bigger scale. 6-8 stars for player ratings would be much better.

I thought of the scouting thing on my own thank you. I think the drafting and the minor leagues is what sets this league apart. but it can be improved a lot. I think this is one of the biggest areas that could be looked at. there are tons of directionst the scouting change could go. I like Brock's ideas of more stars. That could be changed pretty easily. but an 8 star formula would have very little effect on the game, since it would be very similar to the 4 start. how about if you had some scouts that you paid so much money. the more money, the better scouting you get. (of course all scouts are wrong sometime) but when you are offered a trade, you could have your scout look at the prospect being offered. he could tell you what he expects the player to be like. the better the scout, the better a report on the player. you could also have these scouts looking through the minors, foreign leagues if you had them, the northern league, and the draft. insted of having a star system, maybe if you made your own scout appraise each player. just a thought.

An 8 star would be much better than a 4 star. Instead of a bunch of 4 star guys that are actually 3.5 worthy, you could have a 7 star guy. It would refine the ratings. I think the scouts should be like FA's and get bid on. They would have set rating abilities. I don't know if any of you have played Front Office Football but it has a process very similar to this.

There are tons of ways that the scouting could go.

The reason I say that it would not make that big of a difference from 4 stars to 8 stars is that 7&8 would be the same group as the 4 star guys. since most of us only concern ourselves with 4 star average guys, this would not increase the number of prospects you would concern yourself with. if anythign it would lessen the number of prospects people would draft and such.

This is because to implement this approach, only a few constants in the alogorithms would change, and then the amount that a skill increases would be cut in half. this would be a very easy way to implement this in code, unless the commish accidently "hard coded" 1-4 star option with out the intent of ever changing it. Brock you have programmed, so you would know that it would not be uncommon for some one to have written all of the code with for example the number "4" rather than sum variable called, max_stars. if the commish used 4 it would be imbedded through out his entire growth process and would be a major pain in the ass to change. but if he used the max_stars method, this kind of coding change could most likely be made in less than an hour.

I can't imagine that he would have hard coded it. With the 7&8 stars in place of the 4 star, you have a better judgement of a players potential abilities. That's the whole point.

PP - Iowa is kicking some ass right now!!!

I really don't know how much of a better judgement that it would be, since what would likely happen would be just having the 4 star guys broken into two groups. they likely would be very similar.

You should ask the commish if he ever considered changing it Brock

Yesterdays posts were funny to read. Today, reading Sachin, was like a broken record. You don't have to keep insulting people to get your point across. Ya know, I can't even bring myself to scroll up to address what was said. I will say that everyone understood what you were saying the first time you said it, but had funny f!cking with you about it for a while. Take a chill pill and relax, you might even fit in eventually.

I like what you guys are proposing about scouting. That would be an awesome feature and goes along with what we've said about having a manager as well. The game could be expanded into so many areas. Pinch hitters that are set with variables. Same for pinch runners. Hiring managers with different abilities or attributes. Or instead of managers, just having the ability to set variables for each inning. IE, when runners should steal or who is allowed to steal, bunting situations, replacing pitchers mid-inning that are getting shelled or in a crucial situation. I would really like to be able to utilize my whole bench in a game. That would actually add a twist. Players with a low average but high speed and defense could be used. If all else, it would be fun to add another dimension to a pretty simple game.

What's up Pimpster? You've been quiet lately. You must have the "Staying Home for the Playoffs" Blues.

=) I got 'em too.

Timing, That league started off with the same teams as our p2 league did. I had the cubs, who we know started very solid. Sanchez won a couple p2 titles before trying the cheat his way to a third!

I just didn't have time to play that team in b3. as i remember, it started in the late to mid summer or something. i didn't have much access to a computer in august, and i took 21 credits at college last fall and didn't have time to run two teams. i wish i could have stayed though. that cubs team was stacked!

Sanchez boycotted RotoGuru.com when the football forums were seperated and he protested the "select" forum. I honestly don't think that Sanchez is the Dodgers. I haven't seen him post in any forum since he stated he was leaving in the select football forum.

J, you are spoiled by the V2 record keeping. I do think it will be cool to maintain stats for our new league. Hopefully we can get enough people involved that want to do that.

With all of Brock's sh!t talking I thought he won more division titles. He did come close to upsetting the Cubs in season two. The Royals have seriously gotten the beatdown in the WS.

About record-keeping and stats....I am a bit of a statistics-freak myself. I would love to have franchise stats and stuff like that kept in the merger league. I think we should also have some organized voting at the end of each season to reward certain players and owners who had excellent seasons..

It would be nice to have more stats and records kept. i would really like to know what the stats are for retired players. so we could have hall of fame inductees and stuff like that. do is like mlb, after 5 seasons, a guys can go in. then require a certain percentage of the owners to vote for a guy form him to go in. that would be pretty cool i think. the owners would also probably have to vote on which team he would go in as if you had guys like Dave Winfield this season who could go in for a number of teams.

Maybe when the pay site rolls around we could all work on a site together. Each one of us could be assigned to the up keep of a different section of the website. That way no one or two people get hammered with having to do it all.

We could do like one person to keep AL stats, one to keep NL stats, one to keep AL records, one to keep NL records, someone to hold award voting, one to keep a rumors/smack section, and so on and so on.

"house" can be used as a slang term meaning to destroy or defeat badly...there are many slang terms that you probably use as well.
