That was my final bid. He was at $103 mil and I just bid him up to $123mil. My reasoning was that I would just go as high as I felt I would pay, and if he went higher then so be it. I was also in the running for Rodriguez until he went over 40 mil. I picked up some good major leaguers who I hope will help me in the merger. Coquillette and Ramirez were F.A. pickups and I traded for Feramisco. Now I need to find a fifth starter.

I was bidding against you for Rodriguez eh??? I was going to let him go alot earlier than 40mil, like around 33 or so, but the more I thought about it the more I realized how bad I need some good, reliable pitching. So I had to keep bidding. At least, I hope he pans out to be reliable.

I got caught up in the bidding. I just kept checking and bidding as needed, not really paying attention to price. When I finally looked at the price I thought it would be best to stop. I think someone else was also bidding because towards the end his price went up a couple times after I quit bidding.

This sould be an exciting season if we get to finish it. A few teams made some improvements that could & should make some division races even closer. My team should be a big power hitting team with not a great average. I hope that works out for me cause only a few seasons back I was exactly the opposite. I won the World series as a slap hitting team with no power.

And we're off, but for who knows how long. I opened a season on a positive note for a change, taking three from the Rangers. The highly anticipated debut of Ken Sims went off without a hitch, as he was solid through 8 innings earning the win. My hitting has definately improved this year, going for over 10 runs in game one, something they failed to do all of last season. Another first occurred in week one. After nearly tripling my payroll in the off season the Indians failed to make a profit for a week since season 3!!! Now you know where all that money came from.

One week and I am considering changing my whole team style. Do I keep a high power low average or high average low power ?? I think I have a nice mix but losing 3 of 4 to start the season will cause doubts.

Who has players who will not resign? I've got a great pitcher to trade unfortunately.

I still have a jacked AAA roster and power hitters on my MLB team, and im not bringing this team to the merger. So i dont know what i should do? Should I not trade these players, or should i just continue making trdes like im playing with this team? I cant believe im 11-1 but I still dont want to bring this team to the merger. I am so confused....

No you should make trades. But only with the Padres. ;) Seriously though, the philosophy I took in P2 with trades was not to make any because you will be facing those players in a few seasons. That being the philosophy of the hardass. You can do what you would like and I would love to make some trades with you but it is up to you. I also cannot believe you aren't taking that team to the merger.

The fact that he isn't taking this team is scary. All I can say is that I'm glad I'm not in his division.
BTW Sanfran, what did you want for Vizquel? I can't remember what you said.

Well my normal trading philopsy is to trade for porspects or cash. I am in need of a 4th starter, because my current #4 is getting rocked. If anyone wants some of my players i will makes trades as if i was taking this team. The other team that i am bringing just lost the world series but did go 50-14. And had a team era of 2.7, Plus my farm system is the strongest that it has ever been, and i have 6 soild starters, so thats the team i want to pay to play with.

Aren't any of you guys bidding on Northern Leaguers any more? I signed 20 more guys yesterday, bringing my single A roster to a robust 72 players. My minor league system is now pretty old, but I really toned down my NL offers this year just going for guys that I thought could contribute. Sheesh. I'll gladly absorb the fines for the time being, in 3 or 4 seasons I'm going to have plenty of prospects to play or trade...

We'll see how it goes. Everyone is going to be so powerful going into the merger, but somebody is going to have to lose. Should be very interesting...

I went into the Northern Leagues last night and I was like, "what the hell happened here?" Most guys were worthless, and the ones that were decent were 28yrs or older. The I looked at the transactions and saw that you signed a whole team worth of players. At least we will make it to the draft this season, but I don't know if we will get to keep the players we get. I'm glad that this shortened season won't count, cause I don't want my players aging on me.

I need a great pitcher in trade for Crabtree. Crabtree is worth it. His stats...490/474/349/444

He is young, only 30.
He went virtually undefeated last year at the top of the rotation.
He works cheap. Only $1,952K per year.
You want him.
There's that guy on your team who won't resign anyway.
