Stick, which team are you? I had so much trouble wading though all those teams. There are three John Hernandez's in my division. I'm Toronto. PS you only beat me once.

The O2 O's are the League A Tigers. I really feel sorry for them...

So how are your teams doing thus old O2 chums? My O2 Cards are in first place and so is my Seattle team in C (A really amazingly deep league). My Expos and Diamondbacks are both in 2nd but close enough to contend.

PS: One league I'm in has 10 John Hernandez's

You have two teams in league C? Really?

I figured Blue Hen was in here talking to himself so I thought I stop by.

I only kept one of my 4 GSB teams and I thought it was my best. It is playing .500 ball. Competition is a lot tougher. I swear, every game one of my pitchers picks that one game to blow up. I'd rather have two or three get shelled in one game and get it out of their system.

RP is the worse for me. I just put Scott Downs and Darryl Scott into my pen to see if I can save a game or too.

No BH, I have teams in I,H,G and C as well as a new draft team (What an amazing draft board it is). All my teams are either in first or second place still. Not bad at all...

The competition is MUCH stronger for sure. It's all about pitching depth. Also, power is MUCH more valued now than it used to be. I'm seeing 488+ hitters with low power being sold for 5-7 million now. It's pathetic...

Keith Glauber just ain't what he used to be. I'm going to turn him into a closer, a la Dennis Eckersley.

Of course. My Cards team from O2 sucks major ass now and is now in full blown rebuilding mode. My other teams are solid enough as my C team (Seattle) has clinched their divison over BV'S Oakland A's who everyone in C had handed the world series title to before the season began (Don't diss the M's!!)

My other 2 teams are currently both in 2nd place with one being a half game out (tied in the loss column) with 8 games to go and the other being 6 games in the lead (with 7 games to go) for the wildcard.

Overall, G.O you'd be amazed at the stacked teams people brought in. The competition is really really tough with a LOT of strong owners in all the leagues I'm in. You should sign up for a team.

PS: My draft team is 2 games out of first place right now only a few weeks into the season. The draft was annoyingly long and arduous and with each team only having 50 million to start with and a TON of high priced players most teams are scrambling to unload talent (me included) before financial woes make a lot of teams unhappy.

I'm thinking about starting back up around the beginning of June. I got 3 birthdays, Mother's Day, and a vacation to Vegas this month so money's a little tight. I'll see where I stand after that.

Anyone in a league with Wammie where Ben Tucker is one of his best pitchers? I gave him that team and I'm curious how they're doing.

I am in League E with Wammie and Ben Tucker. I voted Tucker to the All-Star team but 4th or 5th for Cy. He went 20-8 with a 3.60 ERA. In 33 games he pitched 230 innings, giving up 205 hits, 157 K's and 75 walks. WHIP 1.22

His team is the Cubs and he won the NL Central.

Pretty solid organization that had a good season. First play-off games are on Saturday.

Thanks TB. That team won 4 WS for me. I was curious if they would still be competitive in a more competitive expanded league.

Definitely a competitive team with a fairly deep farm system. In my preseason prediction I picked them for second. There are two other teams in the NL Central that have equivalent talent. This league isn't stacked, per se, but there are some strong teams. Most of the teams merged from a couple leagues.

They went 91-71, good enough to win the Central by 4 games and the 4th best record in the NL. When did you give him the team?

I had the time up until it became a pay site. I had posted in one of the GSB boards about having a couple of teams that I wouldn't be taking to a pay site that were pretty good, and if anyone wanted one for a "bring your own team" they were welcome to it.

He had actually conducted the last two drafts in W2 since we knew he was going to be the only one using the draft picks. W2 was a competitive league with a bunch of gurupies so he couldn't really stack the team as he could've in some other leagues (free agency had alot of studs from abandoned teams in other leagues).

I had actually traded for Tucker a couple of years after he was drafted, so I'm glad someone is reaping the benefits of me waiting years for him...lol

My Arizona team who had won the wild card (and 102 games) just beat the Astros who won 123 games this season. My pitchers totally shut his hitters down.

We even won the last game 14-1...that felt damn good!!

Yeah, way to go Taxman. You really earned it. Three one-run victories. Congrats. You are to be praised. You are great. You are a good GSB manager. You should win a medal. They should name the GSB championship trophy after you. You are spectacular.

Blue Hen...chill. You seem to be a tad bit short on sportsmanship....too bad. I beleive you are the one who started this thread with "I will win".

Does it help your feelings about me that I got whacked in the World Serious by Montreal? Probably not. Hope we meet in playoffs again.

Knowing Blue Hen, I think he was just messing with you. That and he got a really bad haircut the other day.

If I was a gambling man I would have to bet that Eric didn't have much play-off success. If he did I am thinking we would have all heard about it.

With that in mind, anyone notice how players perform different in the play-offs? It's almost like a different sim is used.

TB, since you felt the need to comment on me, my Seattle team lost to Coglin's Toronto team in C (They won the WS) I have nothing to be ashamed of by this.

My Montreal in G team didn't make the playoffs losing the division to NY by one game (NY made it to the world series and lost 4-2)

My Arizona team in I made to the ALCS before losing to SF who lost the WS 4-3.

Overall, I am more than happy with the way my teams are performing. As for the playoff performing comment, I didn't notice any difference. Luck always came into the SIM in the playoffs. I've seen sub .500 teams win World Series title over teams with .800+ win pcts.

It's the way it should be though IMHO. Even if it's a sim it still is a, "Anyone can win at any time" kind of sim come playoff time which is just how it should be.

Oh, and the reason I didn't comment earlier is because my grandmother who raised me is at death's door and I've been with her in the hospital..not because I didn't win any world serieses.

I wasn't trying to brag I was just sharing info with old O2 comrades. If you want me to stop posting in "your" threads I will.

Howdy gents! Been awfully busy with work, not much time to do much of anything fun. Good to see that we are all doing well with the new league. I thought the first season was pretty cool, unfortunately it seems that if you miss a couple of days logging into your team, you can be screwed pretty badly. I was on vacation for 4 days, and I never recovered. So much for a life. Good luck in the upcoming season, and I hope to see one of you AL teams in the world series.
