I have much to brag about. I beat your team's ass. You had the best record in the league. That's the bottom line. You didn't rest sh!t. You don't have sh!t in the first place. You'll be lucky to win a game in the playoffs, if you make it.

I know I wanted to get Travis but couldn't sim sit. I jacked the bid and had to run. I was hoping I would get him, but o' well. Same with someone you got Timing. Maybe a 3rd base with some power. I don't think I jacked bid on him, but couldn't hang out until sim time to keep raising bid.

Next time I want a player I will make sure I bid strong.

I want to boast some that lead is down to five but I have a tough week ahead of me. Toronto, Boston, Tampa Bay, and Minnesota. From looking at the past couple weeks, I guess I should be happy I am not facing Whitey again. I did adjust my rotation to start my worse pitchers against him and it worked out well in my other games, but he knocked me around a bit.

That was a shocker TB...2 out of 3 in Oakland?? You never know what's gonna happen in GSB. I took some of that momentum into the next series against Seattle when we exploded for 20 runs on 26 hits in the opener.

Is that close to being a single game record or no?

How many people have had many pitching injuries? I am just wondering. I had another sp go down last night. this time at least for only 2 weeks, thank god. i am wondering if I am having bad luck, or if it is happening to everyone. (I have also had my top three RP's go down during the course of the year and 2 other sp's)

I don't want to jinx myself, but I have had only 2 injuries all season. A SS and a 2B each went down for 1 game. No SP or RP injuries all year!!! I don't use any of my relievers for more than 3 games (except my closer). Most of my position players have high health ratings...

Just to follow up on my post above, the 2 position players that were injured for me this season have the lowest health rating of any of my position players (280 and 300). Pretty interesting...

butt wipe - In previous versions of the sim, the health rating never meant jack. Now it seems that a guy with a low health rating might actually be more susceptible to injury. Just thought some people might like to see some hard evidence of this..

I've had a ton of pitching injuries. I've lost my #4 starter and my closer for the season. I previously had 4 other injuries in my bullpen. I don't feel I've been overworking anyone either. I suspect that the way the commish said to set up your bullpen actually is risky.

I have had plenty of hitters go down throughout the season. Some, I only play three games. It seems that one or two go down for 2+ weeks every week. I am afraid to check my e-mail every time that I see that I have something that I haven't read. Of course, does it really matter when you are in the cellar!! The Rangers will rebound, hopefully in a couple of seasons. Also, with all the injuries, it keeps bringing up players from AAA ball and messing with my line-ups. This is really going to suck when players get called up earlier and must be signed because they played 2 games, one in each season.......

Skineej must have amnesia. Here's what you did. Many weeks ago I sent out an email saying that I had three players for sale or trade. One of those players was Jesse Travis. I waited a few weeks and no one responded so I waived Jesse Travis just to clear room on my roster. THEN I look on the waiver wire and someone has a $4 million bid on this guy. Skineej ends up winning the bid at around $4.5 million or so. He then proceeds to trade Red Clark to Minnesota. The thing is that Red Clark has the SAME exact ratings as Jesse Travis. The only difference is that Travis is signed at 4 years $1.6 million and Clark is signed at 2 years $9.6 million. So what he basically did was a take a player from me for $4million while disregarding my email, then trades the higher salaried identical player to Minnesota for a pretty good prospect. Now I know that MattG is a crap manager but I guess this just reinforces that. Both of these guys could have had Travis from me for less than they gave up. These type of annoying managerial moves are the kind of things that lead to player pipelines into certain divisions.

but timing, by letting the guy go to the waiver wire, you didn't get anything for him. so even though skineej may have paid 4.5 mil, maybe a million more than he would have given you, you get nothing. that is a great move. Matt G def dropped the ball.

What I got is irrelevant. I wasn't looking for much for him. The point is that if some managers begin ignoring trade options in order to get players off of waivers then those managers are going to pay for it in other ways. MattG is just stupid and most of you are as sharp as cotton because nobody here even noticed it.

So many people put 10 guys in an email. basically saying, these guys are going to go to the waiver wire, unless some one wants to give me something for them. so why would we want to bail you out? maybe some one thinks they can get a deal with a trade, but for the most part, players who are able to be released are not that great.

Also, Matt G was taken to school as far as GSB goes. oh well, it happens.

238Wammie

do i understand the ramifications? well, you and 1/2 the other owners in there have too many players. so you want to trade some. you pick out the ones who you don't really want, and tell every one, you want to trade them. you will trade a bunch for a stud prospect, or any of them for pretty much any money.

well, if no one picks up these players, you are getting hurt by paying fines. so by not trading with you, you lose money, which is a good thing for the rest of us. so you decide not to lose any more money, and cut your losses. you release the player you found the least valuable. you value the fine money over the player. some one else picks the guy up off of waivers. you are pissed because you got nothing for him. skineej gets a guy he wants, and doesn't have to give you anything. he gives it to the "bank" if you will.

what ever, that is one example. so you have some prospects that you know are not going to play on your mlb team. so you try to trade them. maybe you are not getting fined, but your are over your 40 man roster limit. What ever. the point I am making is that if no owners bail out people who have a bunch of guys to trade, then you are likely to find them on the waiver wire insted.

Here's the real truth to the story. I do remember seeing you post that Travis was available, but I had no interest in him at the time since I already had Travis (aka Red Clark). I didn't check to see what kind of contract Travis was signed to as I had no interest. When I noticed a few days later that he was on the WW and his contract was cheap, of course I put in for him then. I came back the next day just before 5 pm and saw his bid was up to 4.5 mil. I was going to forget him, but since Clark was signed to 2 years 9.6 mil, I figured even if I upped the bid I would still come out on top. I put a few feelers out, and Clark was snatched up end of story. So just because you say it was a "cheap" move, there was no intent to screw you. However, seeing your reaction and accusations without anything to back them up, I'd say you got what you deserve. Of course, I didn't really have to explain all this, I could just say it was good managing on my part.

Wammie is right this time. Instead of giving money to another owner, the money was given to the bank like he said. If he could have gotten Travis for $250K from Timing then it wasn't worth it.

I have no idea what post 237 has to do with post 236. We could care less about noticing whatever it was that you're talking about.

Timer is pissed off because he didn't get any money out of the deal. Suck it up, it is only a little bit of money, & if you think that it was a dumb move using the waiver wire insted of trading with you, then you think the move hurt him. That is probalby a good thing.

Timing.....I don't remember what you were asking for but if you were asking for prospects then I would rather pay money then give up prospects. So by not trading with you and picking him up off the waiver wire he got to keep his prospect. Now if you were trading him for cash then thats a different story.

I have no idea what the hell is going on. unlike timing I have a life outside GSB, the only reason I made that move was because I needed some Bullpen help. Apparently some Travis character was up for trade, whatever, I got clark for some prospect I never would have used. As for calling me stupid, consider the source. i feel dumber just because i read your posts.

Regarding this whole fiasco, its finals week, I am not around because I am paying for my education, therefore I give a damn about it. So I will see you all next week when I am 1. On vacation in my backyard with my laptop 2. at work in an airconditioned office.

for being a stupid manager, my team isn't doing all that bad, is it?

MattG as usual you don't know what the hell is going on. We have considered the source and that's why we know it's TRUE. How did you even get in this league? You should donate your team to Goodwill so that some poor kid can be kept off the streets in his spare time. I don't exactly remember an email or post about Travis but I know you must have sent one because somebody else confirmed it. I check the waiver wire at least every other week and noticed a decent RP signed to a cheap long term deal. Seeing how I have had no less then 4 pitching injuries and 2 hitting injuries this season, I wanted to sign him for depth.

I am the one who took the bid from like 200K to 4.5 million. I had to leave so I put a value on what I thought he was worth. I wish it was silent bidding like the NL.

Congrats on winning both games at your house Brock. You rocked my two best starters. Neither one got the loss, though. Looks like you got some pay back and won some games where the other teams pen blew it.

2 and a half games back. It is officially a pennant race, Timing.

I am also 5 games up for the wild-card spot. Rough two weeks for Kyle and his anti-groupie team. I believe he went from leading his division to 6.5 games back for division and wild card.

We won't even talk about the what happened to Wammie and his Cubs....ouch!

They didn't fare well Brock, but your starters weren't spectacular either. Neither teams ERA's went down after that two game series. It sure seems like we played 6 games at your place and 4 at mine this year. If so, I believe we split.
