Hey guys, I've got my Excel 97 spreadsheet of all the recruits in lg4 ready to go, updated through all the games played so far. I'm too lazy to put up a site of my own to host it, but if someone else wants to, feel free. Post here with your email address if you want a copy. Sheet includes all 768 recruits' info, their full scout, and all of their available stats. Rankings sold separately.

The filter option ROCKS!!

Beezer, I'd be interested on how you did this for future reference. This would save me a ton of time if you could teach me how to do this for all my leagues.

Well, the changes that would need to be made to the code require that you know how to do macros. And if you know how to do macros, it's pretty simple to write your own. The steps I used were these:

Download a recruit's page into Excel;
Determine how the pages are addressed to distinguish between recruits;
Figure out where Excel writes the data I want to pull;
Write a loop to cycle through each recruit's page and pull the info into a single spreadsheet.

After that, I have to go in and clean it up a bit, because the addressing doesn't always come through clean. After that, Excel 97 interprets all the heights as dates, so that has to be fixed.

Altogether this is about a 2-hour process to get to the spreadsheet that you see on Dan's site. Before I got the cable modem, it would take 3-4 hours just to pull all the data, but now the data pull only takes about 45 minutes.

One more thing: During the season, you can update the stats by going to each region page, highlighting all the players and stats listed on that page, then copying it into Excel. Doesn't take too long, and you can do it for any league and with just a basic knowledge of Excel or another spreadsheet program. Since stats are weighed more heavily by most players anyway, that may be all you really need for most leagues. Just find a guy who's stats you like, then go look him up for his attributes.
