This is highly embarrassing for someone with my elite baseball knowledge, but I know nothing about this year's crop of youngsters, sleepers, and little known players whom the Gurupie-faithful have decided are going to "blow up" this year.

Here is my quandary, I am participating in a pay fantasy baseball league ($125 entry fee) and I need to get a long list of sleepers at each position to cover my rear on draft day (don't ask me why we are starting on Sunday). Would my fellow Gurupies who have extensive baseball knowledge post some info on who I should look to pick up after the studs are all taken? Thanks in advance for all your help.

G Dogg, go to the baseball standings page and check out all the draft threads there.

That should give you an idea, since gurupies are smart, well, some of us are.

Thanks for all your help, guys. It's a 5x5 league with 6 teams. We had the #5 draft slot, so we did pretty good. Here are the players we got and the round we got them in. NOTE: I am not the one who did the actual drafting, but I think we did well.

1. Carlos Delgado 1b
2. Chipper Jones 3b
3. Bartolo Colon SP
4. Shawn Green OF
5. Gary Sheffield OF 6. Al Leiter SP
7. CC Sabathia SP
8. Jose Vidro 2b
9. Mike Sweeney UTL
10. Eric Gagne RP (My brother said he messed up here...people didn't even know he was relieving, could have gotten him later but didn't want to risk losing him )
11. Torii Hunter Of
12. Phil Nevin Corner
13. Kas Ishii SP
14. Paul LoDuca C
15. Jim Edmonds OF
16. Ryan Dempster SP
17. Billy Wagner
18. Edgar Renteria ss
19. Jay Gibbons OF
20 Kevin Brown SP (risk reward)
21. Ivan Rodriguez C (same as above)
22. Pokey Reese middle infield (bit of a stretch)23. Matt Anderson RP (damn tigers better give him some save opps)

So, how do you think we did? There is a DL, and we got AJ Burnett for Brownie's spot and some other AJ guy for I-Rod's spot.

6 team league? That means basically only the top 6 in the ML's should be drafted, plus some utility and backups, yes?

Kind of a small league . . .

In general, I would be a bit worried about SB at the moment. Looking at your roster, I see a lot of the players I have in my 14 man team. Starting pitching should be the best non-RJ, non-Pedro staff in the league. I'd also really worry about saves in a 6 team league. Not sure 2 closers will cut it, and I'm not sure about Anderson and the Tiggers. . .

Isn't Pokey nursing a hammy injury?

Yeah, I think he is. I'm going to look around the league and see if I can't find us a better backup 2B.
