Just ignore this, it's more for my own enjoyment. And no editing, J.

A little conservative there, eh Mach? I think Baltimore and Albany should have a great race this year.

And G Dogg, come on. You gotta choose one number. I mean, why don't you just say "somewhere between 10 and 22 wins"?

Just kidding. In that case, I'll go with 18-6. Something strange always happens for me each season.

Been busy at work getting ready for a move back to daytime working, and been playing a ton of Tribes 2 as my new addiction, so I've been skimping on my SSB recently.

Paducah is looking a lot better than I thought it would, going 2-0 and getting great ball-handling and shot-making. Important game against raz's Rattlers tomorrow - if we can win, we have a great shot at going 6-0 heading into Eugene.

Prediction: 16-8, NTT berth

Nice touch, Beezer. In addition to the above record, I expect Gainesville to lose in the Sweet 16 of the NTT.

Good luck on Friday, Beezer. How close we can keep the game will depend on which Camden team shows up, but I don't expect us to be able to win. We will see, though.

Oh yeah. What I didn't say was... TH will be 16-2 going into the NTT and lose all 6 games from the #1 seed.

I think Kiplinger and Henn will both be first team all conference.

My team made good on my prediction of 18-6 by winning 5 of the 6 NTT games. The 5 wins were by an average of almost 23 points per game, but it's the one loss that haunts me :(

Lose a damn good class, so just making the NTT will be a stretch next year. However, South Bend has never missed the NTT in the 7 years I've coached them, so hopefully I can keep the streak alive.

I actually exceeded my 12-12 expectations finishing 13-11. Mainly because we can beat the mediocre teams.

12-2 against teams at or below .500
1-9 against teams over .500 (1-2 against KM!)

I'm still worried about this years crop. Good chance that I land 2 walk-ons. Luckily I'm not losing any starters, just my backup PG and 2 NA's. Gotta rethink my recruiting strategy for next year.

Well, I was right about the step backward - I just underestimated the length of that step. Camden ended up the season at 6-18, with the one pleasant surprise coming in the form of the Conf. 6 FOY.

I shouldn't have any walk-ons, and if I can win any of my ties, it should be a decent recruiting class.

Close to my prediction. 20-4 and a Final Four here instead of the 18-6 and Sweet 16 I predicted. I feel good. Now if I can just win a tie on one of my big lotteries and it will be on again for next season.

Dead on with 16-8. Conservativism is great.

The incoming class is +3 by the numbers, and not much better in reality. We did get a 4th 7 footer, but he kind of sucks, and the other two will be NA unless I need some shooting.

Egan Wesley and Hakim Madison will be seniors this year, so this is the first "our year" in a while. I'm not ready to make any predictions yet, but I definitely think there's a lot of pressure on TH this year.

If you get a chance, check out all league in lg 5.

I went a step down to 11-13. I couldn't ask for much more, my starters were solid but my reserves sucked. Only got one of the guys I wanted, Jackson Nix 6-10 +5 so I am happy, the other two will be NA. I keep all my starters, and add Jackson, so I improve... Hopefully a winning record this year. I'm not losing much either 4 of my starting 5 are So or Fr. so as long as I pick Up some decent guys to back them up Im good to go.

Dead on at 17-7. Of course I had to lose three of my last four to accomplish that.

Recruiting sucks!!! Got a plus three and a plus two. Worked my butt off to get another lead-had two, although by only one and two points, and lost them both and got a walk-on.

If anyone does the Excel thing with the recruits please email it to me? Thanks!

Got my team- Carson City, in Conf 31.

I dont know how I lucked out, but this team pulled in a +14 freshman class. The team lacks size all around, but I will see what I can do with them. Im starting to understand the game a bit more, and like the team that I got.

And considering Im losing a -2 class next year, it hopefully will be a good team, as long as I dont run it into the ground.

what???? Georgia Perimeter College is the best college ever!!!!

BTW, I out-rebounded Chris 40-14 tonight. Whats the biggest margin anyone's ever seen?

Are we gonna take predictions for next season?

I'm thinking I may be able to pull out a 16-8 season this year.

I think I might enjoy my team... Anyone know if Toral is still active? He is in my conf.

And just wondering, is their a rule of not going into other gurupie conf's for recruits?

If so, I wouldnt mind someone letting me know what conf they are in.

My prediction- 12-12. Im still new to the game

The Independence Spyce (Lg4,Conf18)lost by 42 on Monday, i took over on Tuesday, we lost by 30 last night - i guess i'm a coaching genius - we were 0-24 last year (under former management), were ranked 256 in the league (thats right - last place) and have won a total of 4 games the last three years - having said that the frosh look pretty decent

I am guaranteeing a 2-22 season and top 250 placing in the year end power ranking

As far as I know Toral is very active.

As far as recruiting if there is a non-stud player I know someone is after I will stay away. Studs I think should be open to everyone. All we would be doing is shooting each other in the foot otherwise. There are too many gurupies here to stay away from all conferences.

Part of recruiting, at least to me, is to try to determine who will not be recruited in certain conferences. There are other conferences where you know the eye for talent is sharp. I don't go there either. If there are four suitable point guards in conference 8 (just as an example gdogg:)), and one team there needs a point guard, a point guard may be available.

Conference 17-my conference-is pretty active. But I know Matt got a good point guard there a few seasons ago because the conference did not need many. Conference 8-gdogg's conference-is incredibly active. beastiemiked's conference too-can't remember which one that is. Teams in those conferences don't miss too many.

These are just the conferences I know off the top of my head. There are others.

Any other opinions on recruiting?

I have learned my lesson. bmd and I got into a bit of a childish spat (which was all my fault, by the way) because I went into his conference in 1. His reasoning was very simple and correct. There are only three active gurupies (I think) in Lg 1. I could just as easily have found a guy as good or better in a conference he wasn't in.

It's a bit more complicated in Lg 4. There are tons of gurupies in this league. Here's what I have done and will continue to do. If I find a guy that I like (almost always a non-stud) in another gurupie's conference, I will post here essentially asking for permission. If the gurupie says he isn't maxing that guy, then I will max him. However (and this is where I screwed up with bmd, among other things), if the gurupie DOES NOT respond, then I will just assume he is maxing said player and move on.

This worked out very well for me last season by landing a future stud PG from Twarpy's conference, Dakota Beasley (+5).

Like VID said, though, it's key to look out for conferences that are clearly active. Conference 8 is very, very active, but there are some real dumbasses in the conference that only know how to recruit obvious talent. So, if you see someone in my conference you like, just ask me if I am maxing him and I'll let you know if I am and if I think someone else will be on him.

For an example of what I am talking about, Darrick Larimore and Mort Priddy (both +4's) on my team were both uncontested out of Tampa. Justwar (Tampa's coach) is active and very good and has done an excellent job of recruiting, but isn't real smart when it comes to players that aren't obvious studs by looking at their attributes.

Good luck!

I will list any guy in your conf's Im thinking of maxing.

I try to recruit from conference 4, because there are only 5 teams that don't suck. Plus if you're tied with Dan, you know he'll miss a week or two. He never forgets to bitch, however.

Do you plan on maxing Noah Allgeier for Ames in C19?
