The game is a lot of fun, I think for an initial release you guys have done a great job. ZERO (0.00 ERA) bugs to report, which is a great ratio.
Still, some concerns. I'll start with the small stuff first.
1. The game report is ok, does a decent job but sometimes doesn't get the major items. For example, McGwire hit a pinch hit HR for me in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game, but no mention. I would still read the game reports though as it does a decent job of game summary.
2. The AB report needs a bit more detail. Instead of just saying groundout/flyout.. it should say to who and, if possible, if it was a X chance, it should give a success/failure rate. Basically, the exact chance (fb(CF)B?, gb(2B)X) and end result should be shown instead of just the end result.
Also more detail is needed for assists and stuff, if my outfield makes an assist at home, I think it should expilictly mention that on the report. Also the report should update scores after each run is scored, and after every inning. For example:
0 1 R.Mateo 2(GB(ss)A+ *SINGLE*) 1-3 b-1
OR:
0 2 R.Mateo 2(FB(rf)X *2 BASE ERROR*) 2-H b-2
3. The bullpen doesn't do a great job of using its pitchers. I think a lot of it has to do with the limited options in the manager strategy, which brings me to...
4. MORE MANAGER STRATEGY. Looking at my team, I think I would use virtually the same manager settings (maybe except baserunning/stealing) and lineups against every team. Therefore the game could get pretty boring after a while (espcially for repeat customers) as things are put on autopilot. In the future, I think more manager options need to be added- some suggestions would be specific player matchups. Tell the AI, that in a late, close game, bring in my lefty (8L) to face Helton, etc...
You guys have done a great job, hope you can continue to improve upon...

All fair points. Strat-O-Baseball isn't a perfect game (yet). We did our best to make the game as good as it could be given limited resources. All of the things you've mentioned are things we're considering for future releases.

I would agree that the game report needs to be sharpened. The Maniacs beat the Impalers 7-0 in game 3, with Dye hitting a grand slam, Zito pitching 7 2/3 shutout innings, and Koskie knocking in the GW run in the first. But the top story was Finley hitting a solo HR in the 2nd to make it 2-0.
I'll hold off on requesting more managing options until after we've played awhile so I can see how different choices affect the play.

BTW, the pre-game draft and post-draft roster moves are terrific. You can literally spend days prepping your team.

Quick request: Is it possible to put runs on the your team page? Would be really helpful trying to make lineups.
We don't really need OBP or OPS or slugging since we can figure out one with the other two. Thanks!

Erik I think you guys should add all the nice splits from the league leaders to the team pages, or at least to every player's personal page.
As it is now, I can only truly analyze the players on my team if they are on the league leaders, and those are usually the guys who are doing a good job...

A very cool idea. I'll have to chat with Bernie about this.

One important piece of data not available is errors commited by an individual. (chances/fielding % would be nice too)
Thanks.
