I entered Hero Grub into a GIII Stakes race in MO this week, race 2415. 6/1 odds, but a lot of horses with better odds. I think she has a chance, but did not draw the top jock and drew an outside post so we'll see what happens. I think if she is truly Stakes material then this race will tell a lot. I'm expecting about a 103 or 104SP which probably won't win, but will give me hope. I probably should have gone to the Indiana stakes race, but wanted to stay in MO.

River of Gold Again, my promising 2yo homebred filly is trying to break her maiden this week after two place finishes in her first two races.

Good luck everyone.

Hero Grub got smoked in her GIII stakes only managing to run a 95SP. This convinces me of a "class" factor in the sim. I do think you can build a horse's "class" though. I am putting Hero Grub back into allowances and then will start with the bottom rung stakes races and try to build from there. River of Gold Again broke her maiden bringing her to a win and 2 places in 3 starts. Only other win was with a cheap claimer "Dusty from Round" that won going away in a 10f race.

Well, you gotta try it.

I only had 6 or 7 runners in the sim, only one win -- Honey Bunny successfully went 12f, kind of. She won in a 69 speed. Either because the competition sucked, or who knows. My barns are starting to suck.

I bred another cheapie bargain breed in madman4 with a $1 auction horse. Going to be a brother or sister of Stark Secret -- exact same breeding. Going to see if lightning can strike twice . . .

In madman999 the reign of Miswaki Music has come to a painful close. I couldn't get anyone to buy her off, and with only 1 show in 11 starts, who gives a darn about her breeding. . . So, I bred a new one over her, Ice Prince or Ice Princess. 419 points. Machiavellian (198), Nashua, Nearctic. When back to the classics, obviously, for the last two. Going to be a three year old, because madman999 already has three 2 year old prospects. I may breed over zarb's pass with a bargain bred 3 year old next week . . .

Oops. Totally forgot to enter horses this week. Oh well.

I was going to do it as usual early in the week, but the site has a problem with the "All tracks" races link so I couldn't use my automated race finder software. Never got around to fixing it. Whatever.

Sixth Deputy is running the last leg of the Iron Horse. A win here and he sweeps. 14f will be interesting as he has never gone over 9f, IRRC.

Show Me The Green one of my homebreds, is entered in a 3yo Stakes race in MO this week. Drew the top jock but is going off at 16/1 and is most likely outclassed big time. There are several 100+ horses in this field. Still I don't want to race him outside of MO and this was the only race he qualified for. We'll see what happens.

Cryptomile is my best odds at 4/5, but that's because I'm dropping her into claimers this week. Just tired of hoping to draw just the right race for her. I'm sure she'll get claimed this week, but oh well.

Good luck with Sixth Deputy, STL...you must have a real good show at getting that 2yo! Are there any other unbeaten horses going into the third leg?..

After a week off last week, i have 23 horses going aroumd this week...I need to get some wins to pull me out of the red at GSR!...Odds range from 1/9 to 11-1 (aside for one at 22-1)so i am hoping for some success...
Good luck everyone..

nope, sixth deputy is the only one unbeaten. The 2yo is going to be given away in a drawing, with number of tickets given out based on win, place, show,... Not sure what the outright prize is, but I think it is cash and BP's.

Best of luck stlcards. I have two running, and they are both in it just to give me a shot at the homebred. I think you just might win it all buddy. Best of luck tomorrow.

This is the last race for Gold River, a horse I came to like. Once owned by zgreat, I picked him up on claimers and eventually milked 2 allownace wins out of him. That's it for him, I think. He goes off today at 14/1 in NI7804. He was pretty surface- and distance-versatile, though a mile on the turf proved to be his best.

He's already been sex-change bred, with Black Tie Affair as the sire, to produce Gold River II. Happy retirement to him.

Interesting races this week: none. Well, OK, Arctic Bean comes back from a layoff and is 3/1* favourite to win her first allowance, in the sands of Dubai, 5103. 2-year-old washout of the week: Red Tory Theory is 6/1 in PA 1203.

3 auction pickups this week. Having lots of fun there picking up horses who can win claimers for me.

Good luck to all.

Well, Sixth Deputy lived up to his name and ran a 6th. Not good enough to win the title I'm sure. Oh well, it was fun having a shot at it. I'll just blame the jockey.

Only decent race was a 3yo homebred Clear Account who broke her maiden this week. Cryptomile also hung on for a win in a weak claimer race. I'm sure I lost her though.

My Homebred Fletchs Fury won another stakes race for me. She had a pitiful showing at the mile, so I bumped her back to sprints, and it paid off nicely. Overall week for me was 31-3-3-4.

Congrats on getting the credits with Sixth Deputy, STL...A well deserved prize...

I had a horrible weeks racing this week...23 horses running and only one winner...And that was out of the Cab35 stable, which doesn't count for any points at GSR or NWRC!...Had 6 places and 3 shows..Not great at all....The only redeeming thing was the Clams 113sp...Was only good enough for 3rd though....Man, the competition is tough nowadays!

Congrats for the nice IronHorse win stlcards. That was not an easy contest, and to take home the prize is a testament to Sixth Deputys abilites.

cab - A 113SP and 3d? Wow, that is rough! I think that is the top speed for a gurupie horse yet.

I was very surprised Sixth Deputy won the Iron Horse. After his 6th place finish this week I thought he was done for. Now what to do with all those credits! Not a bad problem to have.

I sense a couple of very, very nicely bred 2yo's hitting the Gurupie ranks, STL!...

Speaking of which...I went on a spending spree myself this week....

CAB has IL Vicolo(FR) join the ranks...A 2yo colt...Silic(Fr) x Warning(GB) x Graustark(cost around 300 pts)

CAB31 traded in Voyage Grimacing for Hidden Asset Too(I checked everywhere that Hidden Asset wasn't taken!)...A 2yo filly...High yield x Mr. Prospector x Sadler's wells...(cost 1100pts or so,sheesh!)

CAB35 added a 3yo...Bonnies Chance...A 3yo filly...Silic(FR) x Niniski X Hoist the Flag(cost around 220pts)

All three are names of pretty good pacers in recent years in NZ..Actually, IL Vicolo cost 5 friends and I a chance at a million bucks a few years ago...We anchored him in a pick6(have to pick last 6 winners on a race card)Between us we selected the other 5 winners but IL Vicolo finished second...We did manage a nice little payout all the same...As it was, no one pick all 6 and it was a terminating jackpot...It was a very exciting nights racing for us!...

Yup, 3rd in a 19k allowance race with a 113sp...I had to look twice after the updates!

Hidden Asset 19494, 11 wins in 25 starts. Hope yours is just as good! The best link I've found for checking names is on Coker's site. link

I almost used high yield this week, but switched to get Ally's Dixie as mentioned in post 7. It's another little girl, which is fitting as all 3 of my kids are girls too.

I did check Coker's site..I must've had my eyes closed when I looked...

Considering High Yield's breeding, I would have to say that he has been pretty disappointing overall, so far in the sim...Am not real sure why i bred another one to be honest...
