Big week of racing for my stables. I've got 13 horses signed up. Unlike some of you, I have had no success in the game thus far, and this week I hope to change some of my luck. I've got some good horses, now its just a matter of placing them correctly. Best of luck to everyone in week 1046.

I've got all 4 signed up, at hopefully can get them into the races to get started.

Tried hard to place each one where I thought they might fit.

Also intend to try out the auction and claiming this week to start building up the stable.

Have been very busy reading to try to figure things out somewhat.

When racing a 3yo for the first time, is there an "optimal" distance to start them at? Would it be foolish to throw a horse into a mile race first time out? I thought building them up slowly might be the way to go, but I am not sure about this.

StLCards,
Not sure how right, wrong, or indifferent this is within the Sim, but I looked at breeding and entered horses based on that.

Now will need to look at what races they got into, and then try to decide what to do with jockey directions.

Not sure yet at all.

Hopefully I don't traumatize too many of my horses.

You mean week 1047? :)

13 horses. Wow. I've got 11, if my 2 yo newbie actually gets placed into the maiden claimer I requested. . . (note: he cost 28 breeding points, and if he finishes in the top 3, he'll return a minimum of 33 breeding points. . .) As long as he's not a prohibitive favorite, I think he'll return to me. I hope so. He'll cost 30 BP or more to snag, so if someone picks him up, they are a real moron. But this happened last week. At least one horse that cost less than 30 points to breed was picked up at a price of $75K and 30 points. Idiots.
_________________________
How to place a new horse? Yes, there is an optimal distance, but it has little to do with fatigue or over-distance or what-not.

Check out my post #9 in the week 1040 thread for an example of this. I warned StLCards about the #8 horse who was coming off a 19 speed in a 13f race. He came back and placed in the shorter race, padding my sim-wallet with a little cash in the process. . . Taking candies from babies. . . but I digress.

This illustrates the biggest danger to running a horse farther than he can go is that you've wasted some information. For example, the #8 horse told his owner than he can't run 13f+. But what about 12f? 11f? If you gradually increase a horse's distance, it's very easy to see where the "cutoff" point is . . . As you increase distance, most sim horses do fine for awhile, then start to decline just a hair, and then suddenly collapse. Knowing the location of that cutoff point is critical.

With that in mind, the pedigree of the horse is critical. Horses borne to stamina probably ought to start out at 8f or greater. Sprinters much, much less. In both cases, you should gradually increase distance. And eventually run your horses in both sprints and distance just to prove to others that they aren't capable at that distance (to discourage claimers).

In any event, traditional RL notions of training for distance and gradually building up don't seem to matter a lot in the sim. IMO.

Race entry deadline is basically here! I'm reasonably excited and can't wait to see the new race cards. I've taken a big risk and gone for 2 stakes races. I also think I have a chance at my second allowance win in the game with Aggy Bomber in 6613. Europe is weaker, people, so you might want to consider shipping a few horses over there. Especially if you have a surface-versatile horse, the dirt races are very weak. Of course, they are few and far between, as well. That's why you need your horse to be surface versatile . . .

Thanks for the heads up Madman.
I'm also anxious to see the cards and hope I had all 4 horses draw in.

We should know shortly.

Oops, good catch Madman--1047 it is:)

I have a question about activity points. I always have 0 as my total when I check them, and this number remained unchange as I spent a lot of time at the site(logging is a few times) this week checking Sat races and entering races this week. Any clue as to why the number stays at 0? Anything special I have to do to get them?

JKaye - All your "supposed" to do is to click on an ad and then when you click tabulate yuo should get points. Starts with 1, then 4, 9, 16, 25 or something like that. Only 1 click per hour counts. I have had problems some times where I get no points and I log out and back in and then that seems to fix it. They get reset every Wed at 6ET. You need the points for certain things like getting jockeys, making cliams, etc. IIRC.

Oh great, the activity points are said to be given out "for doing random things at the site," which did not appear to be limited to ads. This would have been a good week for me to have a lot of those being I am trying to get 13 horses in. For the hoops sim game, you get activity points for logging in, and doing various things(which the HR sim claims it gives points for as well).

But this is a lie since I now check and see I have 1 point, after clicking on an add just now. Kind of frustrating especially if I don't make many races and/or I don't get good jockeys.

All 4 horses in Toral 2 entered. Kangaroo Minstrel and Eight Arc are my new European Stable, to be joined by my blocked horse when available. One can actually get into races there. They should be turf stamina typres by my reckoning. The idea of surface-versatile horse over there, per Madman, is a great one.

Marisela is sharp for Toral and tries to get into one of the 2 most suitable races, in New Hampshire. City O'Gold starts off at the top, and should get into the top 4 and a half MSW around, in Florida. Toral Farms could hit the 20th race this week, so I'll be looking hard for $10K or $15K claimers to fill my last slot.

A nothing week for Larot Stables, which like Toral Farms, has a lot of horses training for specific races next week. Fair Goddess, one of my $500 auction pickups, tries for races in Wisconsin and Iowa. I now see the problem with picking up 3-year-old filly cheap MC types with specialized abiltities: the only 2 races suited for her have 54 and 62 entrants. Hmm, maybe not such a great pickup.

Greatly looking forward to seeing Madman's stake entries.

JKaye..I usually manage to get 50 odd activity points each week for each of my stables(Have 3 now..Cab31 has joined the ranks!!)The ads on the "my stable" page are the best ones to click..I get maybe 2 or 3 random points a week when a survey thingee pops up every now and then..

I agree about finding races for 3yo fillies Toral..It is not easy, especially this week...I will be surprised if my 2 3yo fillies make it into races..There area few more options next week though i think..
Europe..Hmmmm...Sounds like it could be a good place to start looking at races...Will cost an arm and a leg to get them there from the US though...If the competition is a little easier , a win or a couple of places would pay there way easy enough i guess...
Good luck getting into them stakes races Madman!!..It's a lot of fun having a horse running in a stakes race!(a bit nerve-wracking though..lol)..Actually it's exciting having any horse making it into a field...

Am going to look very hard for claimers this week..I think it is the only way i am going to get a winner from my Pepe stable...Going to look at older(4-5yo) horses and see if i can find a half -decent one...I've found a number of horses that look good, just have to hope they make it into the right races..BTW ,Wisconsin has a number of low level claim races on its books this week(9)..

I wish they would hurry and put the fields up before i have to go to work!!

Races are up! Madman Stables in Week 1047:

Light Jupiter, #4 in 4908 OUCH. Some last minute entries into this stake race made this a total waste of time. Sigh. Just hoping for a good speed rating. 25/1 against. Sigh. AARGH. Placing LJ has been very difficult. Horses who can only run mid 90s in dirt sprints in the states are kind of doomed in allowance races. Sigh.

Agriculture Bomber, #4, 4908 This was a load of crap. He's at 39/1 against. I signed up for this race initially, and then scratched. This really disturbs me. What a waste of a race. He could have been extremely competitive in 6613. See if I sign up early for races and then scratch again. This is a load of garbage. From now on, I sign up late Tuesday evening or early Wednesday. I do it once, and that's it.

Louis' Gals, #8, 2403 Hmmm. 9/1 against in a large field. Very interesting. I'm going to be watching this race with some hope. C'mon, mid 70s or better!

Manta Until Stones, #2, 2403. AARGh. This one was my mistake. Two horses in the same race. Sigh. 14/1 against here. Whatever.

Straight Time, #4, 5112. This is more like it. A guaranteed 4th in a $70K stakes race. Although it cost me $3.5K in travel expenses to get there, I'm guaranteed 3 breeding points from this outing. Plus a chance at an upset for 2nd or 3rd, I'm hoping. We shall see. 11/1 against.

Secret Society, #2, 0214. 7/2 odds on my 2 yo homebred! You can acquire him for 35 points (HAHAHA. He costs 28 with current prices!). I'm a bit worried. The favorites in these races tend to get claimed. I can't believe a 28 point homebred is almost a favorite in a race like this . . . Oh well. As long as he finishes top 3, he'll return me at least 33 points. Hoping for a good one here, obviously.

Gorilla Rusty(IRE), #8, 6115 41/1 against. Uhhhh. This was one of the new horses my computer stuck me with.

Buda U., #12, 5607 HAHAHAA. 66/1. HAHAHA. I HATE COMPUTER PICKS.

Drunken Badger, #9, 6207 15/1. This was my scrub pick in my new stable. Sigh. . . Going under Dunlap, one can hope . . .

Private Count, #13, 0505 7/2 co-favorite. Located on the outside, of course, sigh. 8f might be a bit far for this horse. . . But Dexter is a great jockey. The other co-favorite, a Raconeur progeny, has run an 84 speed over 7f, so I'm not holding a lot of hope here. Sigh again.

Elocat's Boys, #10, 3703 38/1. OK. This is absurd. This is a STARTER ALLOWANCE for $4K or under, and it's going to go in 105 speed. Can you believe that there are that many horses that have gone for under a $4k tag that can run that fast? I didn't count on it. Sigh. Another waste.

BTW, see Propert Trick #14 in this race? We had a discussion about him a few weeks ago. He won a race with Rate Learn in Ohio in it. Of course, he's over his head here, too.

Overall, I'm going to get my arse handed to me this week. AAAARGGGHHHH. I'm going to live vicariously through you guys this week. Hope you guys got some good draws.

Does anyone have any idea how much the exacta in race #2 in Florida (0202) would pay on the two favorites? 1/2 and even? Talk about easy money if it pays more than even odds. . . Just box it and go to the bank.

At first glance Pepi undercut would seem to be the best of my runners..Race 4014..second fav at 6/1, has drawn number 10 ,but inside the fav..Am hopeful of a finish in the first 3 here..

Amy Donkey(3204)45/1,gate 14 and Rule in the burns(2809)35/1,gate 6 ,would appear to have no chance...I would hope for some improvement from Rules though..(i took the hint from the tipster a few weeks ago and stepped her up in distance)we shall see..

From my new stable we have Hick Succeeding in race 2609..8/1..

Sparky brush..20/1(14) and Our Idols 11/1(4) are both in race 4302..

Raindrop Mark is in race 0803..13/1 and drawn the one gate..

I rushed the entries for the cab31 stable so who knows how they will get on..

Just about all of them got the jocks of my choosing so that may help i guess..
good luck to everyone else!!

Most of my horses got in.
jkaye:
Easy Wing--3409; listed as a 3-1 co-favorite. Her first shot at maiden claimers, and should be competitive.
Late Beau--7009; did not make it into 2115, the race in the mud, but gets good dirt here. Lised as 12/1, I would not be shocked if he turned an 80 speed rating.
Midget Talent--2313; not much of a chance here.
Dynarun Form--3302; Nice placement here. Only 4 horses in the race, and at 5/1, I think he can beat the second favorite. Worst case, he comes home 3rd(I hope:)).

jkaye1:
Excessive George--5101; Placed in a very high level maiden race. Huge odds. We'll see how he does. Personally I think he is bred very nicely and could do better than the odds indicate.
Mixed up Ride--6405
Sheen Allen; 10/1 shot, looks like a good horse, so I hope for a strong first showing.

sunday89:
Out With Colony--2002; Tough race, tough odds. One of those wait and sees.
Iago's Rule--3701; longshot
Cancerous Petal--4806; ditto

Overall, I think I am looking at my best week yet. Some solid plays from my stable.

Cryptomile is running her first race in Oregon this week. This 6f race according to the odds makers is a 3 horse race with Cryptomile rated at #3 at 9/2 and running from the post position. Looks more like a 2 horse race with cryptomile maybe coming in 3d. Haven't had much luck even with good odds and don't expect that to change now. A versatile breeding line could make this a good distance, but she is only RTG and I'm only going at 94%.

Dusty Colony is signed up in Michigan, but the races don't seem to be posted yet.

Country Jodie going out at 9/2 in Utah in a 6.5f MSW race. This 5yo mare is running sharp and just might bring home some money this week. Outide starting position could be a problem.

Going to look for a few claimers this week.

GoatLocker Stables in Week 1047:

Stock Geri, #7 of 12, 2113 ML of 6-1, favorite is at 4-1, should have a reasonable chance depending on how she runs. Bottom of the barrell jockey (need to pay more attention next time).

Zarb for Station, #10 of 11, 1113 ML of 6-1, favorite is at 8/5, might be in tough, but will wait and see. OK jockey.

Doughnut Sal, #1 of 14, 2509 ML of 8-1, favorite is at 4-1, might have a shot, thinking I will send him and see if he can't wire the field. So-So Jockey.

Away From The Roo, #13 of 14, 3210 ML of 17-1, favorite is at 9-2. Think he is in deep, but hopefully I can get a feel for his speed in this short sprint. #3 Jockey at the track, so will let him control the horse and see what happens.

Looks like I didn't do too bad of a job in placement based on the ML odds.

Now to see how things play out.

All's quiet at Larot Stables this week. 5 horses being trained for next week, so things should pick up a bit.

At Toral Farms, City O'Gold, my 2-year old, surprises by being the 2-1 favourite in a 7-horse field in Florida's 6th, a top-class MSW. Among the rest is Wild Porking, who is by Thunder Gulch, which makes the recent SRF article suggesting that the sim treats Thunder Gulch very poorly suddenly quite interesting to me. The top jock at the track, Gardner, is on a 28-1 shot. O'Gold's jock, Baumann, is basically at or near the top of the rest of the jocks. A short sprint as a 2-year old should be City O'Gold's thing. But I make no call on this one at all.

Marisela is a 20-1 shot in a rather inappropriate MSW that looked like the best available race for her while sharp, in New Hampshire. I wanted her to try the turf again.

Toral 2 is very busy in its first week of racing, and the computer oddsmaker seems to like my two European horses, purportedly turf stamina types. Eight Arc goes at 7-1 in a race where the favourite is 5-1 at a mile and an eighth in Newmarket's 1047.4915, a $31.8 MSW. Apprentice Meade, 17%/17%, takes the reins. Kangaroo Minstrel is, rather amazingly to me, a 4-1 favourite in 1047.3603 at 8-and-a-half at Ostend in a cheap $10.4 MSW. The hoppity caroller gets Butler, a 16%/17% jock. The two North American horses in the stable try their luck in the slop in Michigan. All-Star Gator is 6-1 at a mile in 1047.2113, under the creditable X Fields. Napkin Kicking, the stable's designated dawg, is a spectacular 27-1 in the 15th at the same venue under the creditable O Young. Napkin Kicking, oddly considering my love for the slopsters and that I didn't have him on my list, has only one thing apparently going for him: Stacked Pack, King of the North, and Decidedly all have Tomlinson mud numbers over 200, so he should be good on the mud if this analysis means anything to the sim, which I am coming to think it may not. If he doesn't like the slop, it's a quick trip to the MCs for him.

Had a few minutes to take a better look at the race, and the 9 (Turpentine Seattle) at 12-1 could be the horse to worry about.

My first races period, so will have to see what happens.

Toral City O' Gold isn't a surprise favorite -- a pedigree like that in a dirt sprint. The only mix that would probably beat that is a Storm Cat or Mr. Prospector line -- a DIRECT line.

Sounds like you have some good races this week. I haven't had time to really go through the race cards . . .

I need to make some money betting, but I may hold off this week. I dunno, we'll see.

As i am absolutely hopeless at picking horses myself, i have been looking around the tipsheets..A couple that stuck out were at Maine ...Race 4510, # 4 at 3/1 in a 4 horse field and race 4515, #2 at 16/1 look kinda good...especially that 16/1 shot!!...a few bucks each way might be worthwhile and give the stable a great monetary boost if he comes in!!...

Race results are up. A breakthrough week for my stables!

jkaye:
In an absolute shocker, 28/1 shot Midget Talent won his race and broke maiden. In addition it was my first ever win! Didn't expect it but I'll take it. Too bad I didn't bet on it though.
Easy Wing ran a decent 4th in a maiden claiming race. She can probably be competitive there, with chances to show each time out until she finally wins one.
Late Beau Big letdown here. After two great finishes of 4th of 14, a Sharp Late Beau finished just 8th.
Dynarun Form No surprise. Finished 2nd out of 4th which is what I expected. If he was claimed, I made a nice profit, since I got him for 4K and this race was 15K.

jkaye1:
Excessive George I know I started him too high(49K purse), and it showed as he finished 9th. I'll work him down gradually.
Mixed Up Ride Brought up the rear in 13th.
Sheen Allen 9th place finish wrapped up a bad week for jkaye1.

sunday89:
Out With Colony In his debut, he finished in 2nd place. Lots to be happy about here.
Iago's Rule Not so good here, finished 10th.
Cankerous Petal Another bad race here, with a 6th place finish.

Overall for my stables, 10 races, 1 win, 2 places. I have been pretty bad up until now and these are my first ever finishes in the money.

The long awaited debut of 7 year old Award is only 2 weeks away. 1061 is the week.

My week stunk, as predicted. The first week in a long time that I got totally shut out. I just didn't have the horses going today.

I have two pieces of good news. First Private Count looks like a real runner. 83 speed first time out from the outside and only RTG. I think I've got a horse here. Better yet, finished a nice little 2nd so I can still play around in MSW races.

Secondly, Straight Time, a $20K claimer finished 2nd in her Stakes race in Europe, justifying the $3,500 travel costs. The purse was a nice $70K, IIRC, so I'm pulling down a tidy 14K in profits -- good enough to almost pay for the tag last week. Plus, you don't have to give up Breed Points for travel in stakes races. . . Her speed rating of 97.6 is my personal best, and her career best, too. The 17K in winnings is her biggest single-race haul. And, I got a stakes point for her -- just as good as winning an allowance race in that regard. Finally, this career best speed rating occurred at a career longest distance. Yep, you guessed it. She's going 10f next time out. Even if she doesn't get any better, high 90 speed ratings at 10f would let me keep her out of the claimers until I can breed her next year, if I am so inclined.

Everyone else stunk. Aggie Bomber collapsed. Light Jupiter ran an uninspired 88 speed rating to bring up the back of the pack. All my new CPU picks were nags. My 2 yo, a turf-distance specialist, predictably finished with a 45 speed. He won't bloom until I can get him over 8f. His pedigree is 100% stamina, so this crappy outing doesn't worry me too much. I'd like to know if he was claimed away, however. My gamble for breed points didn't work.

JKaye -- Midget Talent -- Very impressive. 90.1 speed rating.

Congrats to all the Gurupie winners this week!!..A number of them it seems!..Nice run by Straight time too Madman..

Of my lot...well not too much to say really!..lol..

Pepi was the best of them finishing 6th in his race..A try at a mile is next on the cards for him i think and then turf and some tinkering with jockey select if i can't get him out of the maidens...

Rules and Amy(The donkey!) finished well down the track again....Destined for the glue factory soon..

Not much from my new stable either...Not sure which way to go with them..A go on the turf might be the best bet for them i think...

I lost a bundle of money betting too!...

The only redeeming thing i am praying for is that i get a claim or two..One in particular, Harry Storm(46391)..He just cruised to victory in his race ,winning by 9 lenghts...Looks like he has some promise imo...

It's under "Recent Claims". Miscellaneous? Not sure.

I put in a claim for Harry Storm from both of my empty stables, too, cab. I think he was a popular pick. I'm starting to get worried. My Madman999 stables just can't pickup any horses. I got screwed over by the computer system one of the weeks. But it's really hard to fill that last slot with low-tier claimers.

Remember, even though the game LISTS 5 slots, you only get as many claim attempts as empty slots. So those first few slots had better be good ones.

Of course, I go and violate that with Madman4, which is quickly turning into a dawg of a stable if I ever saw it. Geez. I have Private Count and a quality blocked 3 yo. Otherwise, that stable is a total waste of my time. . . Although it is an extreme challenge.

At any rate, the only horse I ended up getting was Skin Jumping. I had put a claim in for her(?) 3 weeks ago and got denied. She's never been tried on dirt sprints, but the shorter she goes, the faster she's been. Very strange. At any rate, she's going right back into the claiming ranks. I have to keep her at above $3K tags to avoid penalties, which might make things difficult for me. She's also been run heavily of late, so we'll see. She's not a world-beater, by any means, but a regular mid 70's type with the obvious 85-90 occasional "skin jump". hahaha.

I got a couple of claimers, but probably better off without them. Got the lowest ones possible. Two 2yo, one came back injured (raced 4 weeks in a row) and the other a little groggy. The injured one actually won its race so I can't even do MSW with it now. Will have to rest both of them for quite awhile.

Cards- Did you end up running your two sharp horses back to back?..And if not are they still sharp?..
Am asking because Clam has come back sharp one week sooner than i wanted him to..I had a sprint stakes(6.5f) race lined up for him next week at Montana(so long as no hotshots show up for it!)..Am not entirely sure how he would go in a sprint race at a higher level..I figured though that so long as he is reasonably competitive and he builds on his best sprint of 77 sp it would help in the long run for his favourite dist. over the mile..(to try and spread-eagle them)It would also be his 3rd start in a row at 8f if i was to start him at that again and i don't want him to get stale at that distance..Am i over-analysing this or what??..lol..

The other option is to give him a try at 9f or so(in an easier race hopefully)and see if can go further..either this week or next week..Anyone have any opinioins??

All my horses came back fit and healthy...Sloppy Station,Crowded for water,Bingo and Girlfriend parking are all sharp and will be racing next saturday...

cab - what happened was that I ran Country Jodie the 5yo mare who was sharp (after racing the week before also) and she won with a SP of 83, and she is sharp again this week. Dusty Colony who was sharp this week I layed off for the week and now he is only ready to go. As long as he is sharp next week that will work out. I will not race Country Jodie this week. She will get at least the next 2 weeks off. The only reason I ran her back to back was because she was 5yo whereas DC is only 3 and needs more rest. Since Clam is 3yo it is a tough call. Run on 2 weeks rest sharp, or 3 weeks rest RTG or sharp. Tough call. I think the rest is the better option, but my stables only have a combined 1 win.

I think it is interesting that when I saw Cab put up the message that the claimers were up (post 35) that I looked under recent claims for the next several hours and they were not there for me. I wonder if my browser is not automatically refreshing the cache on a reload? Use AOHell at home and have never taken much time to see what it is doing. GOod luck to everyone next week.

Weekend News from the Toral Multicomplex

City O'Gold was a disappoinment in his opener, running 5th as the favourite with a 47 speed rating. I'm starting to get very interested in the running style of Carson Citys, and I'll be perusing Davarto's Sire Searcher this week. A large number of the ones I've seen have been closers, which is unusual for speed horses, altho not unknown. I must find out where he is standing and check his website.

But Marisela pleased me by running second with a 74 in a mile turfer. She is a $10K claimer who I moved upward in class, back into the MSW ranks, thinking she had more turf potential than she had been allowed to show. One disquieting note: she took the lead at the head of the stretch and was passed by a closer, losing by a head. If she's a 3-year-old filly turf sprinter only, it's going to be *really* hard to find spots for her. Well, I was gladdened by her performance anyway. So much for the New Hampshire tipster who said she just wasn't fast enuf for these gals.

Toral has now run 20 races. I had a slot left after the recent surprise claim of Steadily With Hulk. I gave a lot of thought to picking a claimer who I could likely *get*, eschewing the horses I thot everybody would be going for. Toral Farms welcomes #1174, Counting for Way, a 4-year old who runs mid-70s, should be sprinting, and is still eligible for NW2Ls.

Toral2 had a welcome surprise in its first week of racing. Kangaroo Minstrel was hopping in the lane and broke his maiden at 8.5 on the turf in a $10.4 MSW across the pond. I suppose I might have placed him higher, but I'm glad to confirm that the game isn't set up that no horse I originally owned can ever win a race. The other 3 showed little. Toral 2 put in 4 claims, altho no more than 2 could be filled because of money reasons. Toral2 Farms welcomes #35790, Colonel Knob, who has actually run a 90, a number not seen in this part of racingland before. The Colonel had the indecency to win his race, but is still eligible for NW4L and his $7500 price gives some flexibility in where I run him.

Congrats to all gurupie winners, and especially to JKaye and Midget Talent, a horse that was on my original 10 list of my 2nd stable. As to his placement, I was exactly wrong in what I expected Midget to be likely to succeed at, altho a more careful look at things tells me Rahys are versatile and have inter, mediate speed so I should have known better. Anyway, the less I say about the topic the better.

OT to jkaye: congrats on your fantastic SSB lg 4 #1 recruiting. I had a +6, +3, +3 and only made 18th on one ranking list, so yours must be a heckuva class. (No-one else went after my +6 all year long.) What were yours?

cab I would either go for the stakes race next week and hope he just comes up sharp, or experiment around. You still have some allowance conditions left; if you want to experiment, now is the time to do it. I don't see a lot of value in running an 8f Allowance race this week just because he's sharp. He's a young 3 yo, and information on what he likes and doesn't like at this point will do you well.

Toral I'm going to be very interested in your Carson City research. I was a bit suprised by City O' Gold, as well. But he wasn't sharp, and it is also possible it was a bit too short for him. Or maybe he didn't like the jockey. Or maybe he'll be a late bloomer. I know there are some good Carson City horses out there; what I don't know is how many CC dawgs there are. Finally, was the mare you used a quality horse?

BTW, rotciv stables hit the 20 race mark this week, as well, and will be running West on the Fan a Lear Fan x Quack x can't remember (ha!) . . . should be a great horse, but he's also a 9 yo. I'm planning on just logging 6 races with him, and then having him hit the breed shed. Although we'll see. There are some restrictive allowance and claim races out there for just older horses, and they don't fill up very quickly, since most older horses with decent breeding get bred.

This week, madman999 will hit the 20th race, and will most likely be winless. This will open up a decent 3yo -- Well Bert, although I don't think he'll be any gang-busters. I really want to get Arctic Government and Sal on the Bell unblocked. But that will take awhile.
