cab, you'll be coming to "The Old Garrison". The first North American soccer match was played here, back in, well, 1600 or something like that. That's what my spokesperson tells the supporters, anyway!

Toral, A suggestion, if I may....Dump your coach and try to get at least a passable one at the minimum...(Solid is better still)...It costs 20k to fire each coach, so bear that in mind..It helps train your players slightly quicker...I would also upgrade the stadium as soon as practical(probably ready for your first home game next season now though)and invest as much you can in your youth club...I have had mine at 20k all season and have been at passable for the last few weeks....I have upped it to 40k/week now(and if i started again, I would spend 40k/week from the start)...Apparently, the best idea is to have it at solid to give you the best chance of getting a decent youth pull...

Thanx, cab. I am upgrading my stadium, according to the "arena calc", 10 days before my first home game next year. (I'm also going to rename my team, to "Niagara Loyalist", tho I understand that also costs money.) I'm also going to fire my coach. I'm going to let him coach our last league match on Saturday out of loyalty -- he won my first league game, and we are fighting for 2nd in our division -- but his butt is gone in the off-season. I've put my youth investment up to 20k. I'm following the good advice, like yours.

One thing maybe you can help me with -- the cCnadian conference, someone is all upset about "day-trading" of players. As far as I can figure out, this only works in the older leagues, like Sweden. Apparently some guy buys players cheap from the new leagues, and resells them in sweden at much higher prices. Now some people apparently have an ethical problem with this -- but my question is, how can I get in on this ;)

This would be a game Madman could ace. Madman, how 'bout joining?

Actually, this game has got me all excited. I've researched other soccer sims (none compares, apparently), and bought Championsship Manager from someone in Boston today.

Care, cab. See you in the premiership in... ?

The same complaints are made in the Oceania conference....basically what they are doing is trying to find bargains(from anywhere) and then selling them straight away for profits(huge sometimes)The Swedish seem to be the ones they attack(The ones making the complaints) because they have the biggest amount of teams and therefore much more competition when buying players, therefore forcing their prices up...Personally, I stay away from buying players from Sweden if I can...There is just so many people from there online that to get a player at a fair price(in my opinion) is hard...

I honestly think that trading players purely for profit is the only way to build a decent team....I have been going for nearly a season and have never made a profit from gate takings and sponsors(when spread over 2 weeks,1 home and 1 away)...I have set a target for the start of next season of having all solid players(it's probably not going to happen but the majority will be solid/passable)I think that they will need to be passable/solid to compete when I get promoted...The only way I have achieved that is by buying and selling players for profit...I also want to upgrade the stadium again...I will get some cash for winning the division so that will come in handy :)...

Have you downloaded HAM yet Toral?..It's a pretty neat tool which gives you a better overall picture of your team...Where you are strong, where you need to fill gaps etc...

Madman would take to it like fish to water! :)
