Good grief is anyone entering these races? And where the heck is cab? Last time I talked to him he was training his horses for 1600...

Looks like the 3 of us are in. No word from cab though. Unfortunately Sixth Deputy is only RTG, but probably still better than my filly options of Hero Grub (proven to be a non-runner in stakes) and Rich Wine (prefers sprints). Looks like some good races this weekend. BOL.

I'm starting to get pretty psyched about tomorrows races. Looks like some pretty good competition across the board!

Yes me too. I have to win one of these. None of my 2-year-olds really should win -- we need one of them to step today and be Da Man/Da Gal. I'll also enjoy imagining the track announcer keeping River of Gold Again and Gold River II straight.

Hahaha. Trust me -- I'm really, really psyched by these races, as well. I've just been terribly busy. I only got my 9 horses entered -- none others. Sigh.
Oh well. Life's fun, too. Just wish I could get into a better routine with this game. Gotta finish off improvement to the MadTrainer2000 so I can enter races even more quickly (and jockey selections).
Good luck, guys! Looking forward to seeing how these things break down!

BTW, I've got Aerosmith "Thunderstruck", the Alan Parsons Project "Sirius", and Europe's "Final Countdown" cycling in the background in preparation for these things... Not sure it really fits horse racing, but man, it adds to the psych-effect. ;)

Hahaha. Whatever. ACDC's Thunderstruck. I'm too psyched to type correctly!

LOL, Madman. I'm pretty sure that is the music they play as the horses parade around the track to the starting gates ;-)

I figured as much ... gotta get those horses pumped!
What's up with races? Seems like it is taking an awful long time to update.

Seems about normal to me. Some of the races are available, just none of ours yet. A race at track 77 is done I know anyway. Patience grasshopper!

I meant to say track 73 and 74. It does seem to be taking slightly longer than normal.

OK. That's the second time in 3 weeks I've heard that "patience young grasshopper" sort of line. Where does it come from????
Congrats to all the winners! I won't post results here until I'm sure we all have seen the races. The filly championship was a real close call.
I also would like to get the raceout.zip ...
It was fun. I gotta get me some legit dirt milers it would appear!

I'm not sure of the origins, but I think I remember it from "Kung Fu".
I have seen all the races, but will also withhold comment until I'm sure Toral and Cab have seen them. I'm very interested in the times as it seems that there could be some decent times run.

I saw the races and was very pleased by them :) It was a good day and I am very pleased by the performance of Mine Devastation before our hometown crowd, and also especially of Gold River II. The partisan Woodbine crowd cheered that effort especially, watching the simulcast from Missouri. It was a great day.
I have no decent 2-year-old colts on dirt, but WTH.
A fun thing. Next year -- well, we should follow Madman's spelling and call it "Gallop", not "Gallup", and of course hopefully we will find a way to get more people interested. We might go to allowances, I don't know. I didn't mind having paid for a stake today.
I salute all the competitors, and especially I appreciate cab, who may be drifting out of interest in the game, I don't know, but made a special effort to train his horses for 1600 and get them entered this week.
It turned out good, and racing is truly the sport of kings.

I debated entering my mare Hero Grub in the older horse division, but given her record in Stakes races I opted not too. She did at least get back in the win column popping a 105 in an allowance race. That was my only win on the day out of 21 races :( I'm going to lose a few to claimers over the next few weeks and start preparing for next years breeding season.
I was pleased with Hanging Rock today. Just got too far behind too early. Fast Flying also put in a nice race for me as well.
Pretty dissapointed in Blushing Niner though. Thought she would do better. A lot of my better horses don't have great breeding. Go figure!
I do wish that Sixth Deputy had been sharp. I'll have to have a rematch soon!
Nice races everyone. Great idea. We should do something similar next year.

I'm headed out of town for awhile, and so don't have time to comment much ... but I ditto the last two posts. Very cool. Congrats to Toral with two awesome runs, and thanks to everyone. It would be nice to make this larger in the future.
Later! I'm going to have to miss all races next week ... oh well.

I decided to use some left over credits and breed a horse. If all goes well, tomorrow I should have catbelly join stlcards3. Breeding is catbird x brief truce x bellypha(ire). Trying the non stud approach but with studs directly beneath. catbird is out of danehill/marscay; brief truce is out of irish river/northern dancer; and bellypha is by lyphard/lefabuleux. Cost was around 100 IIRC.

Yup, A great days racing!...Congrats to the winners and placegetters!!..I wish I could have provided just a little bit of competition for you guys!....To be frank, my breeding has been pretty much a total failure...I've spent a lot of BP's on most of them too!...I guess there is always the chance they will come good as 3yo's...
I hope there will be another series at some time....Although, as Toral mentioned, racing has been on the backburner for me in the past few months i will definately be sponsoring races next time...I plan to downsize to 2(or maybe 3!) stables...I'm thinking about shifting some horses via the auction but am not sure wether i should?....

Great to hear you're going to continue to be at it. Breeding is hard. Some of my productions make me wince. I guess auction transferring is the way to go if you're sure no one is going to outbid you.

I always wanted a Kingmambo progeny so I bred over Country Jody. New horse will be Kingmambo x Far Out East x Private Account. Faro King or Private Mambo (depending on sex). 550pts on credit.
