0 Subject: Lg 4 Season 18

Alright, recruit signings are updated. Albany's trio of freshman are pretty mediocre. I was able to get 3 of my maxes. Unfortunately, their ratings turned out to be lower than what I expected. The only player that is worth mentioning is Francois Livers, a good defender/rebounder who might start this season. He's no Parker Teague, but still a nice consolation prize. Hopefully, other gurupies had better luck.

Congrats to J for his top recruiting class.

*scratches his head wondering why these top athletes would sign with San Jose...San Jose?! WTF?!*

*Cough* Bribes *Cough*

My maxes are

Rance Stafford (Conf 4)- I'm very excited that he isn't on the Most recruited list. He's averaging 23 ppg/game and 0 to's/game.

Tracy Cooley (Conf 28)- He's a big PG who isn't on the Most recruited list either.

Marty Cole (Conf 27)- IC Good+ local kid. He's ranked 12th I think. Looks to be a very solid player so I'll probably keep the max throughout.

JT Futrelle (Conf 28)- He's ranked around 30, and I don't think he's worth it. I'll be curious to see how many are tied on him, anything more than 3/3 and I'll prolly get out.

Newton at 31 and Tabor at 71. No complaints here. Will keep maxing for the time being.

I'm with you on Tabor, VID. I'm also maxing Arlo Dahlem (18) and Chris Block (20). Dahlem was #20 most-recruited, and Block was unlisted. We're staying on everyone.

I was pleased when none of my maxes showed up on the 1st most-recruited list. Now 2 of them show up. I'm not sure what to think of that. Are they moving up the list because people are backing off of the highest recruited players? Does anyone have any thoughts?

Well, of the 19 I have points on, only like 3 or 4 of them are on the top 75. Hmmm...trying to figure out if I should be worried or not.

Well out ot those two guys that showed up on the top 75 I'm only tied with 2 others on one of them, and the other I've got a clear lead on(no one within 12).

My overall recruiting looks promising. 2 of my maxes are clear leads and I have several sleeper picks that I've got the clear lead on as well. Grant it, there are no superstars in this bunch but I should end up with a +9 through a +12 class. I'll take it!

Woo hoo!

6'9" Freshman Forest Keller is now...

6'11" Freshman Forest Keller!

Lets see, that makes 2 guys 6'10" and 3 guys 6'11". Well, we do graduate one of the 6'11" guys.

Woo hoo!

Hey, who all is involved in Conference Championships?

I am, as the 3 seed. I beat the 2 seed whom I lost to earlier in the year (albiet by 2 points). I face the 1 seed who has beaten me twice. The first matchup he beat me by 12 or so. The second matchup he beat me by less than 5. Should be interesting. I beat him last season in the conf tourney with a less seasoned squad, so I hope to pull one out again.

I was the #3 seed and I was lucky enough to get to the championship game. The #7 seed knocked off the #2 seed, so I've beaten the #6 & #7 seeds in my conference to get here.

I really don't expect to win. My team isn't really that good this year. 0-5 against Top 100 teams. The team I'm facing tonight for a shot at the NTT is #32, he's beaten me by double digits twice this year. Last year we had 3 one-point games, he won 2 of em. Who knows, maybe i'll pull off the upset and go on to get pummelled in the NTT!

Good Luck RSF!

I'm trying to figure out my reaction to being in the PTT as a #5 seed. Yeah, I was 12-6, but 4 loses were by a total of 9 points, 3 of which were to #33 PR Hialeah Panacea...hmm.

This will be our last appearance the NTT for awhile. I've got only 4 good players and 2 are graduating this year. I expect to be sub .500 next year unless we get some stud freshman.

Tucson faded down the stretch of the regular season and missed out making the NTT. We lost 4 of our last 5 games.

Recruiting looks very solid as I now have 3 clear leads and one tie(1/1). One of my clear leads, Irving Shain(reg 8), I got after the W-3's came out. He has been on the High School Stars list several times this season. I think he will make a great SG.

Balls, I'm glad your recruiting is going well, because you'll never catch up on Ethan Malone! Haha. Not that he's all that great anyway. Other than that I have 2 1/1 ties (one of which started at 3/3), a 3/3 tie on Randy Klapheke (who looks like a +7 player), and one clear lead on a decent PG. I need to land a tie to avoid a walkon. Well, good luck to everyone in their tourney games, except for Vid, because I'm playing you.

Lol jeff-noticed that. Kinda disappointed I ended up in the PTT but can't argue with it.Have a 2/2 on Dallas Marsh and a 4/4 on Les Newton. Have a lead on a good PG, SG and a big man. Trying to get two big men though and hopefully the SG will never see Branson.

Good luck to everyone-except you jeff-lol.

lol, jeff. I had a bunch of extra RP's and I have to spend them somewhere and Malone it was. I'm not really trying to get him, just tryin to put some pressure on the coach who was. I'll back off now though.

DAMNIT!

I had Toral on the ropes! I would've loved to see him "watching" the game. I dont think anyone had a 5pt lead all game until the very end. My 16 seeded Perdadores took the #1 team in the nation into double overtime before I just couldn't hang anymore. My PG & PF fouled out, my center had 4 fouls and my team was 0-7 from 3. So close to one of the biggest upsets in the history of SSB!

Good game Vid. Your defense is stifling. Balls, I wasn't trying to keep you from putting points on Malone. I know that no lead is safe until it's 0/0. So, feel free to keep the pressure on. Continued good luck to all, even you this time Vid. Hehe.

So, how did everyone come out in All-Conference Selections?

The Titanium Screws (of Conf 9) placed 1 first teamer and 2 second teamers.

Junior Steven Atkinson earned his second 1st teamer. Last year he earned it as a SF, this year as a PG.

Senior Jon Reagan earned his first 2nd team slot as a SG. This is his first year starting.

Sophomore Jamaal Weigel earned a 2nd team slot as a SF.

Atkinson also took home the POY for conf 9.

Very pleased with these results.

Tucson(conf 31) landed 1 guy on the first team list.

Senior Toni Lauder made the list for the first time as I rotated him between the SG and SF position.

I didn't expect any of my other guys to make the list since I had 9 guys playing 19 minutes a game. I relied more on a "team" effort this season so the opportunity for great stats was not there. I will probably use that strategy again next season as my team is loaded with +3 and +4 guys.

I'm either going to hit the lottery (with a 4th straight ranked class) or I'm going to be sucking bong water with my recruits.

I have 1 clear lead, 2 1/1 Max Ties, a 2/2 Max tie, and thats about it. My recruiting this season was lousy!

Wow. I'm underwelmed by my recruits, despite getting the guys I wanted.

Yes, I got 3 guys who all averaged 20+ points per game, shooting at 50%, but their attributes leave something to be desired...a combined +6, including my first ever NONE in a catagory. Strange group.

Tucson lands a +14 class. 2 +5 guys and a +4 playa. All three were point guards in high school. They are a combined +3 in shooting, +3 in Def, +3 in hands, +1 rebounds, +2 int, +2 athl.

This class was ranked by both publications, 8th and 20th. I'm very pleased with this group.

Albany gets +5 Isiah Simms, a +2 guy, and a -1 walkon and somehow ends up with the #5 class in one of the publications...weird.

Oh yeah...we were robbed on Brandon Eubanks. He was a 1/1 max from Conf 16 that had a poor local rating. He ended up staying in Conf 16.

Oh yeah...J got a #1 recruiting class AGAIN (I gotta hire him as my school's recruiter. He's like the Billy Beane of SSB!)...

Oh yeah...Eisenback signed with Salt lake City. :)

Who wants to set up a home and home scrimmage? Reno is looking for 2 or 3 possible opponents.

I think it's going to be a very good season in Reno, and I need to make sure I maximize the potential of all my players.
