Well its a new season. The leaves seem to be falling off the tree.

Was just reflecting on last season. I had a 7 loss season, but yet still finished with a PR of 18. That just doesn't seem right.

Anyway, actually like the makeup of this squad for a change. I could use some more scorers (only one G and one E) but the slowdown game with good def/reb counters that, for the most part.

Great game, Jeff!

A good sign for lg 4 is that I only have one computer coached team on my schedule this season. Also the three computer coached teams in my conference from the previous two seasons are now all human coached.

Welcome (back?), Mikel! Glad to have another gurupie playing.

Good luck the rest of the season and I hope I don't play you again this season. :)

thanks balls. I was lucky to win the series. Your team is always really tough. After a rough set of games on Monday, my team ended up 12-6 in the exhibition season. Pretty good considering the caliber of teams I played. I beat up on Flying Polack 5 games to 1. He deserved it after giving me my first 3 losses of the season last year. Haha. Good luck to everyone this season.

Wow. Not what I expected at all. I'm definitely interested to see what y'all think about this. If you don't check the L15 mb, there's also a vote going on about how many RP's each team will get. I think it is imperative that each team only get 68 (definitely not 83). I'd actually be okay with less than 68. I think it would significantly reduce the number of ties. Although I still think there will be many more ties than I'm used to.

As far as the draft I don't think p6k had much choice after all the whining on the message board. This way most should be happy as they have a say in the makeup of their teams.

As far as rpe's, I really don't know. Recruiting is such a crap shoot anyway. Regardless of who you max you never know if it will be a tie or not. I have plus 2's right now in League 6 which are 5/5 ties, yet I have a lead on a plus 4 and a plus 5 which is a 1/1.

I certainly understand the premise behind less rpe's being better. Just not sure if it will be a reality.

Hey Jeff,

You may have dominated the preseason, but I was just trying out different lineups. I'm confident the lineup that plays you in the regular season will dominate. I fully expect another dual championship for the Reno Spartans.

I think we should move to 68 RPE's too, actually my vote would be for 65 so you could only max 3. I also think the W3/W12 should come out immediately since the competition will be so tough. That way it limits the number of RPE's wasted.

It's that time again folks to POST YOUR MAXES.

I think I'm gonna try and max 3 this season which is something I haven't done in a while. Lately I've just been maxing 2.

Jayson Gibbs reg 7

Demetrius Weller reg 20

Willie Weibel reg 26

These three are not set in stone and I will not max them if any of you want to max them.

My maxes so far are:

Tristen Koehler (27) - hometowner
Robin Wyman (27) - hometowner
Hank Delaney (28)

I still haven't decided on the final guy. But, I know one thing, he'll be tall.

I just found out my hometowner max from last yr ended up on Arborwolf's team and turned out to be a +5 stud. He was originally scouted as a FFFFF. E+ Local too. :(

I only had 2 of my maxes show up on the top 75 list. Hank Delaney was #20, and Tristen Koehler was #58. I didn't really expect Robin Wyman, my other hometown max to show up. But, not seeing Tom Haskins out of Conf. 29 is a good sign. How'd everyone else turn out?

Roy Williams came in at 33 and Geoff Clarke at 31.

Leffler and Leonard aren't on the list. If either one of them would come in 0/0 I'd be ecstatic. As it is I'm happy Williams isn't Top 10. I thought for sure he would be.

G+ E+ E- E- F ratings, combined with F- Local, i really thought that was a sign to stay away (especially since he gets over 20pts a game)

Simeon First (10)
Benji Linton (10)
Robert Just (10)

Well, I get what I deserve. First comes in at #6.

I actually think I did well with recruiting for the first time in 3 seasons or so.

One of my maxes looks pretty solid and is at 0/0
and I have a backup guy who could potentially be +4 or so who is 0/0
and another backup at 0/0 who is dumb as $hit but gets almost 20PPG

my other maxes are ties with 2/2 1/1 and 4/4

I like!!! how'd you guys do?

My maxes are 4/4, 3/3, 2/2, and 0/0. The 0/0 guy sucks. I have no idea why I maxed him, except that he's tall. But anyway, I have a few shots at gaining leads on a couple of other big guys. So, things look good so far in Glendale. Good luck to everyone else.

my maxes came in as 0/0 and 1/1. I needed a couple of big guys this season and it looks like I only have a chance to sign a couple that are 6-8. All in all, not a bad effort this season though.

Maxes came in at 3/3 4/4 and 0/0. The two ties are for big guys that can score(I desperately need some scoring for next year) so I expected to be tied on them. The 0/0 guy is a 6-3 guy that is scouted E shot and E defense but probably won't turn out a E shooter. Got a couple of solid safeties so overall my recruiting class should be solid even if I don't win either of my ties.

I've got a big game coming up tomorrow night vs Flying Polack. I was able to squeak out a win against him earlier this season in a game that was way too close for my liking. I'm really still not sure what to think of my team. We, along with J, are still undefeated. But, my schedule certainly leaves something to be desired. Balls also has a great team. He's one of the few with more steals than to's. Something I've yet to achieve for a full season. I'm still in pretty much the same recruiting situation that I was after the w3's came out. I'm still in 4/4, 3/3, and 2/2 max ties. It has been my experience in the past that big ties usually come down one or two before the season's over. So, I'm holding out hope that it will happen again. I've also got 4/4 and 1/1 non max ties, to go along with two clear leads. Since all the guys are big, I'll probably stay away from priority points and let the compueter give me who it thinks is best. Well anyway, good luck in the upcoming conference tourneys.

Good luck J!

How did recruiting turn out for everyone? I should be a good class in Reno, with the chance of being excellent.

I've got 6'8" Everatt Duggan locked up (thanks Jeff).

I'm also in on my four original maxes, Roy Williams (4/4), Elroy Leonard (1/1), Geoff Clarke (1/1), and Dominic Leffler (2/2).

All four of those guys are PG/SG types, considering that I'm losing my PG and bPG I really need some help in the back court. If I can land 2 of my four maxes I'll be very, very happy and I should have a Top 25 class. If I get Williams it's potentially a Top 10 class.

I also have lead on a 5'11" PF, Alexander Wilder, who I think would be a pretty good PG. Hopefully it doesn't come to it, but if I don't get any of my maxes, but I get Duggan and Wilder Reno probably still be in good shape.

Anyone in League 15 looking to schedule scrimmages or regular season games? All of my games are open, I'm team number 114.

I thought you guys were embarrassed by Jeff Gaycia???? :)

That was actually a really close game, just about tied after 3 before I finally went on a little run. I actually had more blocks than assists!

Well, its all downhill from here, I'm losing a +16 class (my Lg 15 team is +22 total!!!!)

I really didn't think i'd do so well this year, last years team was much better (ratings-wise), but I guess starting 3 top notch seniors really helps. After I lost 2 of my 3 exhibition games, I never even changed anything really to my team (except of course putting Griffin on a 9 for shooting :)

Thanks guys for the support! Now I need to get win one particular 4/4 tie on a big guy to have a succesful recruiting class otherwise, its probably the end of my NTT run! :(

The Midgets were screwed once again. Two seasons in a row now without winning a single tie-breaker...
Fortunately, none of those guys were useless walk-ons. I managed to get clear leads on 3 back-ups for the 2nd straight season, which is pretty lucky. It will take a lot more luck to replace my 3 seniors after this upcoming season...a +15 class.

Looking at the top class rankings, I'm glad to see that some of the gurupies had better recruiting results than I did. Happy for everyone except for J that is...only because he's always complaining about how his recruits are going to suck but they never really do.

I won a 3/3 and a 1/1 and got a backup. Made #9 and #16 on the lists. First looks like a stud in making, based on +6 with no negatives. Funny that the game placed him at PG...6'11"...yeah, I've done that before...

balls, I accepted your scrimmage, thanks! I'll get you back either Wednesday or Friday.

My class was a disappointing +8.

I got a +5 PG, whose the my first Exc Hands and Int.

I also got a +3 PF/C who can shoot great, but won't play a lick of defense or rebound.

The last guy was a walk-on. I think I screwed up by not putting any priority points on the 5'11" kid who played PF in HS. I think he would've been a great bPG. Oh well.
